Review Dallington Seafood Centre - Christchurch

These guys know how to cook fish and chips. And their burgers taste fantastic and are excellent value. Worth a visit! Especially for a piece of crumbed blue cod. They don't make fast food. They make good food as fast as they can.

The fish, hot dogs etc. are great! Cooked perfectly with a nice thin batter and crunch. The chips aren't the best but they are sufficient, and because they are frozen they don't give you many. The service is outstanding, very warm and welcoming.

Beautifully cooked fish (4 in batter, 1 grilled), burger, hot dogs, and chips. Will definitely be going back.

First time I have bought from this shop and it was really lovely, this will be my number on fish and chips shop

Normal 2x fish, 1 scoop. $10, Can't complain about that value. I'm a big boy and couldn't finish half the chips.

This place is definitely one of my favourites. The chips are all the odd shaped ones with all the nice small crunchy bits in between the bigger bits so It's really good and I feel like you get more per scoop. The oil is always fresh so the chips fish and other food is always really tasty. Their burgers aren't that bad either and they use cardboard packaging instead of styrene which is better for the environment.

Bit dingy but great fish and chips

Was delighted to find such good fish when I lived in the area. Was there for five years and never went anywhere else for fish n chips. Fish was always good quality. Never old tasting or dry. Always big portions. Chips would probably appeal across the board. I'm a crispy chip lover. The chips servings were always so big that I could find sufficient crispy chips, leaving the soft ones to others... or the compost. Service always efficient and switched on; they always knew I was the phone order when I walked in the door. Family business; they work so hard! Only criticism is that a big feed has an oily aftershock; but that's fish n chips for you.

We tried their food recently on a function and had afterwards as well some fish 'n chips supplied from them. The nibbles (spring roles, deep fired mushrooms) have been excellent - crisp and tasty, and the fish (we tried three different fish) was very fresh, nice texture and good portion size. Definitely the best fish we ever had at a fish'n chips shop. Worthwhile to come back to ...

Definitely gone down hill since change of ownership..Previous owners did a fantastic job & unfortunately if the new owners do not step it up they're going to lose many of customers..I rung & made a complaint, as I brought 2 crumbed cod & mussels but I was not happy with what I'd received..One cod was a beautiful thick piece of fish but had afew bones, the other cod was extremely pitiful all crumb NO fish..I bit into a mussel & thought what the hell was that, the shit bag was still attached..When I rung to complain I didn't understand the response I received, "When you buy 2 of the same fish we give you one thick piece & a one smaller in size".."We don't removed the shit bag out of the mussels"..I thought are you taking the piss or what..I've never ever received a mussels from here with the shit bags still attached..Regarding the fish, I paid good money for 2 pieces of fish the therefore I expect the same quality in both fish..I spent over $20 that night, 2 crumbed cod $5.80 each, $1 per mussel, I was angry that they weren't interested in rectifying the situation & the bull shit excuses I'd received..Unfortunately if they're not going to deal with complaints correctly, especially the regular customers those customers will walk!..Last night I got a piece of fish & chips..Yes the were extremely busy but I couldn't eat what I'd brought, as they were yuck!..Brought straight out of the cooker, dumped on the paper & wrapped..I might as well just brought the oil/fat out of the cooker because that's what I felt like I was eating..I'd rather wait longer for an order to receive beautiful fish & chips, than what I'd got, which once again I'd paid for which they gained but I didn't..I'll be taking my customer service else where!..I also find it very rude that they have a tip jar on the counter..look after your customers & those customers will keep coming back!..

This used to be a great fish and chip shop. sadly they are now under new ownership and they are VERY slow and the chip portions are pathetic. Will be finding a new local

Really great fish from this place, we love it. Usually go for the crumbed Gurnard - AMAZING! Every time. I won't go anywhere else in the area for fish n chips.

This is our regular fush & chups shop. The chips are usually crisp on the outside whilst remaining fluffy on the inside. I'm not a huge fan of their fish and tend to order a hotdog.

The same family has been running this joint for a long while. It's popular with the locals and gets busy at peak feeding times! The shop has got a bit tired - the chalk menu board is almost an antique.

They won some Fair Go award (from my mediocre memory) eons ago for the generous portion of chips. This remains the case. The chips are shop cut but only average quality. They do a good range of fresh battered/crumbed fish but are dearer than others in the area. Their burgers are forgettable.

Considering the endless road works et al these guys have navigated post 'quakes (and still today the intersection is dug up) hats off to their perseverance.
