Review Woolston Bakery - Christchurch

They have a decent selection of cabinet food but the prices are a little high. They seem to have fresh food on display and the taste is good. The sweets taste good, I will often have two sandwiches with a different slice each time. Being out of the CBD, you would expect to pay a little less. Well located and plenty of street parking.

Was hoping they had a chicken roll but it was late in the afternoon . They did have a good lot of displayed sweets, the chocolate mouse for $4.50 caught my eye and the chocolate eclairs for $2.90. There were no prices on the items so I did have to ask which was a down fall as I like to know without having to ask. The chcoclate moose was rich in flavour does have a bit of sponge in the middle and the eclair was my favourite. It was huge in size , nice and an cold. Tasted delicious for the price of it , it was definitely worth it and cheap too. I would highly recommend giving it a try. Inside is spacious and outside area is the only dinning area :) yes I would come back here

Easily the best bakery in Chch, been coming here since the 80s.

Popped in for a couple of takeaway sandwiches. Nice and friendly. Reasonable prices.

Very nice pies here. Pastry is light and crisp. Fillings are full of flavour and delicious.

Steak and cheese pie was really nice! Definitely could have been hotter as it was only warm. Plenty of steak pieces of decent sizes, pastry was really good too. And is real cheese not fakey stuff I've seen some places use. Gingerbread man was a hit with the kid. Everything is reasonably priced too, definitely be back. Yum

Stopped in here for lunch after a trip to the beach. Enjoyed every item I had. First course, 2 sausage rolls and a lolly cake. Went back for more 5 mins later, the lady at the counter said they have damn good pies so I took a pepper steak pie, she was right to recommend it, was spectacular. Will return again.

Popular as food quality is very good.big ques at lunch time with minimal serving staff. I found it a little expensive but the food is high quality for a bakery. Over all I can recommend as one of the better ones.

Amazing pies! I had the steak bacon and cheese. Beautiful golden flakey pastry, proper chunks of steak and real bacon (not the small chunks you usually get!). So tasty. They had a great selection of other cabinet foods too. Lots of sweet and savoury treats on offer. Everything was reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back to try their other goodies.

Steak and mushroom pie, and custard tart, just what I wanted, yum.

Awesome food for really reasonable prices. LOVE their custard tarts, and their pies - where do I begin? Particularly enjoy the pork and watercress, but honestly, they're all to be savoured.

Best mince pies, beautiful pastry and great filling.

I went here with my husband. The staff were friendly, the food looked great in the cabinet, my sandwich was quite soggy and it had a kind of fly stuck in my sandwich. The coffee and hot chocolate was good. The Lambtion was kind of dry. Not sure if we come back here again. I had a better sandwich and Lambtion in the past. :-)

This bakery is definitely my favorite place to buy lunch for work. They are open early and are always well stocked with everything. All their food is freshly made in store and their coffee is great. All the food is very reasonably priced, and that's hard to find these days.

Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a great, cheap lunch.
