Review Papa's Pizza - Christchurch

Yummy pizza- the toppings were delicious as was the gluten free base (quite rare!) even my non-glutarded friend said it was nice. Had to wait 20 minutes for the pizza but they were busy so in light of that it was not such a bad waiting time. Definitely going back.

I read some of the reviews on here and someone who gave papas pizza a 1 star also gave la porchetta 5 stars and said that it was the best pizza they have ever had... La Porchetta make chewy dough with a splatter of sauce and toppings that slide of the dough. Papas pizza make good pizza. Not as good as base wood fired pizza in the container mall. But probably better than Spagalimis from their Victoria st restaurant (they always had the best chefs.) I can't believe la porchetta has a better rating that papas on google...

Great pizza. I go there weekly with the family. They are really busy, the stickers lined up shows that and we're happy to wait since its really nice pizza. The staff are fine, and do a great job.

Great service and delivery. Great tasting Pizza. The Garlic bread was amazing! Better than I was expecting and definately my first choose now over Dominos.

Surprised Y people putting bad reviews here.. Go get a life you all !! WHere can u get AS MANY toppings, AS MUCH U WANT on ur PIZZA.. That to MADE IN FRONT OF YOU for only $16.. I have never seen that before to be honest.. Lovely stone baked crust.. M impressed with pizza & papas team. I recommend every1 to try urself and find out, done go by bad reviews here :)

Greek pizza is the Besttt !! Far better than La Porchetta, Tutto Bene Lumsy Pizza.. Cleanest takeaway n friendly team :)

Hands down the best pizza in town, if your still getting dominos or pizza Hut then wise up and give these guys a look, it's the good gear.

Really impressed ate most of it in the car! Ingredients are fresh and great stone baked texture.

Awesome pizzas

Awful. Food is DEFINITELY not fresh. It was most definitely prepared from almost all frozen ingredients. I would never recommend this awful establishment to anyone else.

Terrible cold and undercooked pizza. They say traditional, but you get better at the likes of Hell Pizza for half the price. I don't know how they can claim they are the best, it's a blatant lie. Avoid coming here.

I was really looking forward to trying papas pizza. And was utterly dissapointed by the horrible service the man Cleary didn't want to serve us and the girl making pizzas seemed as though she didn't want to be there either, the bases of our pizzas were burnt and the chips were not cooked properly. For the price I really would have expected better. Will not be returning!

Bought some Grabone vouchers a month ago. Days later I rang my order through and ordered 3 pizzas using 3 vouchers. No problems..except mushrooms were on the meat lovers pizza and we clearly asked for no mushrooms! Today went to do the same but phone message now says they have changed the way you can order...now you can only order online. Ok...had to register...but wait...theres no option to redeem your grabone voucher online. I ring their phone number and leave a message to call me back and advise. 30 mins later, no call returned. Family getting hungry so I go back on line and figure that seeing as though this is the only way to order, I must have to pay by credit card and then seek a refund on collection. I ring again to leave a message to advise that I will come in now and expect the refund when I get there. Long story short...very poor service. Lad I spoke to there said they have never taken phone orders (lie...its how I ordered the one time I ordered from there). He wont give me a refund. Lady in queue behind me said her voucher says to order instore ...but my voucher doesnt...apparently mine was printed out before they changed the conditions but no one notified me. I left with no pizzas, a $48 credit card charge that I must somehow get returned and no doubt that I will never order from there again. They are not worth $16 ever...and probably not worth the 4.50 Grabone voucher price. I suggest they get staff who are able to provide good customer service, know when they have stuffed up, admit it, apologise and fix it.

1) Terrible service - they have this long haired guy up the front who clearly hates his job, and provides you with more sass than a spoilt girl from rangi ruru. Mate if you are having a rubbish day, or have some kind of superiority crisis, don't work at a pizza place and take it out on your customers. <br/><br/>2)They don't do phone orders! Like seriously do you really expect people to want to go in there and wait for 40 minutes? They rudely put these cheap pizzas on Grabone to get people to buy their deals, but they don't tell you the only way to get their pizzas is to drive 20 minutes across town, then wait for 40 minutes, then drive home annoyed and let down. They literally leave the phone off the hook so you go straight to voice mail. Well played papa's that'll work wonders for you.<br/><br/>3) They are completely understaffed, don't advertise your pizza, and make ridiculous deals when you cant handle the demand, it will only make people dislike you.

Ok so that was a bit of an ordeal. They are definitely understaffed. Ridiculously so. Took an hour for 1 pizza, and as you can't seem to place a phone order (we tried), then you better be prepared to waste a large portion of your night sitting with 10 other hungry citizens. Due to their staffing issues this created a hostile environment as everyone seemed a bit annoyed about the predicament. The pizza itself was delicious. But it's hard to reason with old mate papa when he's too cheap to pay an extra person to help out when he clearly needs to.

Not impressed with Papa's Pizza at all. <br/>Neither the "Meat Lovers" nor the "Chicken - Cranberry & apparently cream cheese" pizzas had much flavor at all. Not many toppings especially sauce. It was so dry. Was still hungry afterwards also. Needs more toppings at least.<br/><br/>Would possibly go there again if they were to change recipes etc and lowered price. Definitely not worth what was paid! Cant recommend at this time.

Wow im suprised at the bad reviews! My partner and i have been going to papas since they were in shirley, we hadnt had it in a while so ordered some pizzas last night, just the same as always, great pizza!!! Theres always a good amount of toppings with extras added for free! I have apricot chicken with cream cheese and cashews its amazing ever time!

Really disappointing, heard good things about it so we drove from Templeton to Cranford Street, only to be greeted by unfriendly staff who just stared at me the whole time I was choosing and seemed to be getting quite impatient, I thought it was quite gross that no one was using gloves and just fingering everything but I found it even worse watching one of the staff pull some food out of the tubs full of ingredients she was putting on the pizzas, put it in her mouth, lick her fingers and then go back in for a handful and put it on someone else's pizza, that is honestly revolting. <br/><br/>Pizza itself - I'd ordered chicken cranberry and brie, there was no cranberry on it and it was drowned in cheese, I had guacamole on it too but they put it in the oven so it was hot avocado and just tasted really old, aside from that the pizza was really undercooked <br/><br/>http://imgur.com/Fymyy9W<br/><br/>Here's a photo of a piece of pizza with my finger under the middle part of it, it was so undercooked it just flopped over either side of my finger, and I know proper Italian pizza is supposed to be like that but it was raw too. Don't like to be harsh but you've got to be honest.... and honestly... inedible.

Probably one of the worst pizzas I've ever had.<br/>The base is like a naan bread limited toppings lots of fatty cheese melted all over it and under cooked.<br/>You really need to know about pizzas if you open a pizza shop not sure this particular Papas Pizza know what they're doing.

Well, what an experience! I just called to let the staff know that the pizza we ordered did not come as requested (there was no cream cheese whatsoever on our salmon pizza).<br/><br/>This is after ringing for the last half an hour with no answer. <br/><br/>When I called to ask why and to ask what could be done about it, I was told "I bet there is!".<br/><br/>We were regular customers at their Lincoln Road store, not anymore!

If this is real Italian I will eat my hat, which probably would make a better Pizza. Though this one was not as bad as the mobsters from Merivale, this pizza was particularly disappointing and the chips were soggy, under cooked and overpriced. <br/><br/>If you are going to make such sweeping claims, you should at least back them up with a product worthy of such claims - by the way - you can claim best Pizza and not use 100% Mozzarella? Call it what it is, a cheese flan, but please do no insult us by calling it Pizza. I would give them 2 out of 10, and I am feeling generous...

Thank you for the most Authentic pizza that I've ever had. What ever you are doing, don't stop.
