What a gem this place is! Pass near this place most days and finally tried it. What can I say, excellent coffee, huge selection of sweet/salty food, and not to mention such great service and warmth from the owner Madlen! For anyone who loves great tasting coffee and a relaxed escape from the daily grind, this place is for you! :)

One of my favorite go-to places to relax. Spring time is the best season to visit as the flowers are in full bloom. All sorts of colors will flood your senses 🥰 Aside from that, there's also a playground with a paddling pool nearby so the kids will also enjoy.

Christchurch Botanic Garden is an absolute gem in the heart of the city! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting this serene oasis, and it exceeded all my expectations. The garden's beauty is unmatched, with a vast collection of plants and flowers that will delight any nature lover. 🌿🌺 The diverse range of themed gardens, including the Rose Garden and the Water Garden, offers a delightful experience for every season. The carefully manicured landscapes, stunning floral displays, and tranquil water features create a sense of peace and tranquility. 🌷💧 One of the highlights for me was the Avon River, which gently winds its way through the garden. You can even take a punt ride for a unique perspective of the surroundings. 🚣‍♂️ The garden's free entry is a bonus, making it accessible to all. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or simply finding a quiet corner to relax and escape the city's hustle and bustle. 🧺🌞 Overall, Christchurch Botanic Garden is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you're a botany enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, this place has something for everyone. 📸🌲 I couldn't recommend it more highly, and I can't wait to return to witness its beauty in different seasons. Don't miss out on this green paradise in the heart of Christchurch!" 🌳💚

Came early on a sunny Sunday as easier to get parking. The grounds are well maintained with lots of areas and trees/flowers to explore. The visitors centre coffee shop is a good place to stop for a break. Watch out for the birds trying to get your sandwiches!

Definitely a five star experience, so good we had to go back for a second visit. Magnificent trees. Avon river running through only adds to the experience. Don't miss the heritage rose garden - in full flower November, and the cottage vegetable garden.

Our second visit in two days. So beautiful and tranquil. We loved the ducks! Don't miss the amazing mosaic chair and footstool made from precious broken china after the earthquake. A very moving and beautiful piece of art.

Beautiful place to visit, relax and take a stroll. Running around it is the Avon river, which has ducks, eels and sometimes Swan's Playground for the children and an ice cream shop close by. Great place for a picnic or to have sometime to sit and read a book. The greenhouse has many tropical plants, everything from banana plant to cactus. Must see gardens if you are visiting Christchurch

Christchurch Botanic Gardens is a wonderful place to visit. The park is spacious, well-maintained, and quite enjoyable. The river trail is a highlight with adorable ducks swimming around. It's a bit disappointing that the museum nearby was closed during our visit, but overall, it's a fantastic spot to take your kids for a leisurely walk and playtime.

Free parking, lots of beautiful gardens and the river flowing through the middle. Very peaceful and recommend a visit while in Christchurch. So many gorgeous flowers, interesting buildings and good public amenities. We had a travel pram with okay (not great) wheels - we got a bit stuck in some of the gravel paths - sunk into the gravel and pushing was a challenge.

A fabulous garden-park in the heart of Christchurch. The plants are well signed (for the plant-nerds out there) and there are a number of thematic gardens within. The clear river bends through and the greenway keeps following it into the city. Pedestrian transit only in the Botanic Garden, but pushing my bike seemed not a problem ;) Thanks to the city for providing and maintaining such a verdant oasis :)
