Fantastic food, I was recommended by a colleague and they were correct. The restaurant is warm and modern and the staff were. Very welcoming and checked in during the meal that everything was ok and if we wanted any more drinks.

Absolutely stunning food! The only reason this is not a 5 star rating from me was that our group of 7 waited an hour before we were asked to order food and were very hungry by the time the food came. We were also only offered one round of drinks.
My drink order was incorrect but very quickly rectified.
Staff lovely & the beautiful fresh garlic naan was to die for!!
Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala & we kept seeing these sizzling plates come out of the kitchen so I’m going for that next time I think it was a tandoori starter option. Soooo delicious!!

We love dining at Samairaz. Both the food and the service are outstanding. The owners work in the restaurant - it makes such a difference. They are highly skilled at what they do and remember our favourite food and drink and details about our family. Very impressive.
This is matched by delicious food - so tasty. We went there with friends who have visited India many many times who said it tasted very authentic. We particularly enjoyed the non-veg platter. Actually we've really enjoyed everything that we've tried. There's a steady stream of customers coming in for take-outs and the restaurant always seems busy, regardless of whether it's a weeknight or a Friday or a Saturday. This is testament to their quality of food and service as it's unusual for a suburban restaurant to be this busy.
The service is outstanding - even on a busy Friday night, it's a marvel of friendly efficient service. These are highly skilled restaurant staff who really care about the dining experience of their customers.

Our first time here, and it was an enjoyable experience. We split the Cheese Pakoras for a starter, before following up with a lamb korma and prawn saag with garlic naans as the mains. The food was fantastic and the portions generous. We had a booking for 6pm, and it was fairly quiet when we arrived. By the time we left there was hardly an empty table and there had been a steady stream of takeout orders as well. The service was faultless. Highly recommended.

The best indian restaurant I have found in Christchurch. All their food taste so authentic. Full of flavors and no dish tastes the same at all. Great portions of meat and lots of it too. Naan bread is flavorful and huge. I always get hot spicy. So good. Madras is my Favorite dish here!.

We were greeted like friends as soon as we stepped through the door. Fantastic customer service throughout our meal, which was the best curry we have had in years! We went to Samairaz on our last night in Christchurch. We started our meal with prawns that were so buttery and grilled to perfection. And then we had lamb rogan josh and paneer curry with fresh-from-the-clay naans. Of all the Indian restaurants I’ve been to, this one tops the list with authentic Indian flavours. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming which made our experience even better. I would suggest food lovers in Chch to definitely visit this place!

Not my first dining experience at Samairaz but I always find the welcoming, friendly and the attentive service superb and food consistently good. We dined with relatives from London recently who were very impressed with the food quality, excellent service and variety of choice on the menu. The chocolate nan bread was especially a hit with their daughter.
