We had dinner there last night and ordered the curry dinner specials as well as onion barjees, samosas and various sauces.
From the starters to the main dishes the food was full of flavor, well presented and had a delicious deep authentic indian color to it.
The butter chicken, chickpea dal, chilli chicken and the Tikka masala were all really tasty and we ate as much as we could and took the leftovers home to enjoy the next day. The starters were also were wonderful and even better when accompanied with the dipping sauces.
The service was also excellent, so for anyone wanting a deliciously authentic indian meal I very much recommend the Southern Spice and Restuarant.

A great place for Indian food....the flavor and taste is great and the staff are very friendly....I would specially like to mention Roop, who was very warm, friendly and offered us good suggestions in selecting the food. The ambience if the place is lovely too...All in all, if you are looking to have good Indian food in a nice place, this is where you can go....
I know they are not perfect. But it is worth it for me to give 5 stars. You can enjoy all you can eat delicious Indian foods from starter to dessert. Enjoy the goat or lamb until full, chicken and lot of curry's. The chicken biryani was so delicious. And also free to eat naan bread. It was only 20 dollars for weekdays. Make sure that you are hungry enough. Great staff hospitality, they are fast and helpful. For you Moslem people, this restaurant is HALAL
A perfect place to have Indian food buffet in Christchurch. The owner and staffs are friendly, helpful and provides excellent services. The food is tasteful and with the price, it is worthed. The Chiken Biryani is the best. Completely fulfill your hunger.
I'm giving 5 star rating today because their white rice is little boiled today, curl and easy to bite. Unlike other days such as raw, straight and hard to bite. But today their chef boiled it.
One of the best biryani I have had in NZ. Definitely going to visit this more frequently. Also must try their chicken pickle. Don’t miss their gulab jamun. Loved it 😍
Lovely place to bring a group or share with another. We had the buffet and enjoyed the flavours, can't wait to try the goat dishes next time. Other reviews seem confused as to what they expected. My wife felt like it was being back in India with their presentation and food. Highly recommend.

Great set up. Very well balanced price. Buffet for $20 even during lunch. Nice Indian restaurant
