We recently celebrated a friend's birthday at this restaurant, and we had a fantastic experience! The ambiance was delightful, creating a perfect setting for the occasion. Moreover, we absolutely loved the lamb dishes they served. The flavors were outstanding, and the meat was cooked to perfection. It truly made the birthday celebration memorable.
Great place for a lunch. Went on a sunny day and got a window table, was perfect. The food was outstanding as was the service. Will definitely be returning.
We enjoyed the wine flights followed by 3 small plates. It was such a delicious meal with even better wine. The sweet Riesling was divine and we left with 3 bottles, one offered chilled to enjoy as soon as we got back to our hotel. Fantastic experience, highly recommend
We had the most incredible meal, beautiful wines, fresh juices and food. They catered spectacularly to our vegan and gf dietary needs. We went for an anniversary celebration but the setting would lend its self to a gorgeous family meal as well, as it is child friendly and very affordable for such a high quality experience. The staff were amazing! The views are out of this world! Honestly the best meal and eating out experience of our lives and we are massive foodies who spend most of our income on eating. Thanks team, smashed it!
Brilliance in its finest form, tussock hill encapsulates everything an inner city vineyard could offer. We were blown away by every aspect of the lunch from food, to service to scenes. I will recommend this to anyone I talk to for the foreseeable future. 13 out of a possible 10 points. Will be back for more.

Everything from start to finish was amazing. Came here for my birthday and loved it! The bread to start was super crispy on the outside and lovely and soft inside. The pumpkin salad was so beautiful to look at as well as being so tasty. We shared the flounder, super crispy potatoes and cucumber salad, all of which were awesome.
The wines were damn good too, we started with some flights and then had some glasses after. We ended up taking some wine away, some beautiful Pinot gris.
I would say Tussock Hill is a definite Christchurch dining highlight.
My husband I went for the first time for lunch to celebrate his birthday after reading so many great reviews. It did not disappoint. The service was great. William, who served us, was so friendly and coupled with the atmosphere and delicious food, this was a truly fantastic meal. Finished off with buying a couple of bottles of their Pinot Noir to enjoy later. We will definitely return. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Oy vey. What a spot. Wonderful food and great service. It's a killer combination. The seafood is so faithfully presented and/or preserved. The food presentation overall is thoughtful, colourful and reflects the location and local environment. I think its a standout in Christchurch and New Zealand. It's a compliment to the owners and staff.
Probably one of the best meals I had in New Zealand.

Tussock Hill was an amazing place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. They accommodated our late arrival and the service was excellent. We loved the Petillant Naturel bubbles and the lamb shoulder with the triple cooked potatoes was outstanding!!! We had booked the night to stay in the Kereru Vineyard Retreat and loved the setting and the beautifully appointed room. Melaina looked after us fantastically well during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed for a lovely birthday evening away. We enjoyed the stay so much, we’ve rebooked already! Great work team - a lovely place to visit and so close to home!
