Simple gold. Locals, tourists and kiwis alike, we like! Best atmosphere, best pizza, best people. Down to earth and from the earth.

An absolute gem of a place. So glad to find them still selling their lovely wine port and liqueurs. New location on other side of road. Wonderful views from top of hill.

MUST STOP! My partner and I turned in off a whim and it was a gift to spend the afternoon with Danny entertaining and providing us with amazing tasting wines and liqueurs, with jokes and history intertwined. If you are looking for a local and family business with pride in their history and area, look no further. In a rustic yet elegant shed on the hill, this was by far the most enjoyable ‘wine’ tasting experience I have had. Just cannot recommend the visit enough. Danny is a top bloke, the sort you’d love to share a beer with. Will be back ASAP!!

Highly recommend stopping here! Danny was so kind and we tasted so many excellent liqueurs, gin, wines and more. They also sell excellent tea that they grow and harvest. I’m so glad our cathedral cove kayaking guide recommended this stop - an area highlight for us! Thank you, Danny!

We did a tasting, all of the liquors and wines were really good and the guy talking us through them was amazing. Very funny, willing to talk about pretty much anything and made us feel very at home. Glad we didn’t miss this place. They also have chili oil that is REALLY good.

This is a must stop! Looks a bit rough from the outside but once you’re inside you won’t be able to leave! All the drinks we tried were awesome and old mate was really funny and shares all the history. View was amazing towards the ocean Will return

We spent the night at Danny’s place in our campervan and it was amazing. Danny is lovely and offer us a liquor tasting of his products which was delicious and the view from the camper site is really pretty. Bonus if you spend the night there instead of paying for the place you can stay for free if you buy 20$ pp in his shop.

Really amazing experience, just as the owner is closed up we got there and he turned everything back on for us. He was super knowledgeable about the history, set us up trying so many different flavorful liquors and overall made the entire experience memorable. The owners personality, amazing views paired with amazing liquors made the biggest impression on me from my entire Australia/New Zealand trip! If you’re looking for a winery this is a must when in New Zealand!!!

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Danny is not only a world class human but liqueur expert. Tried so many unique, homemade liqueurs that included either a history lesson or punchy one liner. Brought home so many amazing goodies to share with loved one! HIGHLY recommended to anyone traveling the area :)

Best alcohol tasting I’ve ever done. Liqueurs are absolutely delicious all of them. If you drive past make sure you stop in as it’s one of the best afternoons you can have in the coromandel. If you spend more than $20 you can freedom camp for the night. So an unmissable opportunity. Danny your a legend! Cheers from Cornwall uk!

Great winery with an amazing view! You can find so many great alcohols here (not just wine). He has ciders, limoncello, palinka, as well as a variety of liquors (fejoia, ginger, plum, boysenberry, banana, passion fruit, etc.). All of which is grown and prepared on site. Despite us arriving after closing, the owner decided reopen and give us a tasting of all of their drinks. He had a great, welcoming attitude with good overview on the history of kiwi/Chinese gooseberry and the island. He even shared some of his green tea and hot peppers as a good bye. Looking forward to returning here.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing selection of wines, cider and spirits. Also home grown tea and the most delicious fresh veg. The owner is super friendly and it’s a freedom camp too so you can stay here in a camper for a small spend in the shop
