Review Moorings Restaurant - Cromwell

We had dinner and breakfast here while staying at Marsden lake resort. The staff were all lovely and the food was great. We had the carnivore platter for dinner and it was delicious.

This place is amazing. The vibe of the restaurant is relaxing and rustic. Classy Farm to table style decor. Award winning restaurant in luxury and let me say this place has AMAZING FOOD. get the chicken burger if your here during lunch so worth it. Beautiful views from the patio of the surrounding hills and lake. Definitely check in out of your passing by.

We cycled out to this restaurant from Cromwell. We were surprised the restaurant was set so far back from the water and had no water views at all. We drenched our thirst with Cider and had the fettucine and mussels for lunch, topped off with flat white and tea. Meals were promptly served and was delicious. The mussels were rather small size though.

One of the finer restaurants in Cromwell. The food is fantastic and full of flavor. Atmosphere could use a little work — it isn’t quite as upscale as you’d expect for the menu (paper napkins; a noisy, casual bar in amongst the dining room; small and large size options for drinks, like you’d see at a chain restaurant). The décor is a bit of a hodgepodge, no real theme here. Service is friendly but again, doesn’t really reach the level of “upscale” to match the price point of meals on offer. Overall, a positive experience. Try the Carnivore Platter — it’s a staple. Limited but still decent wine list.

Bit of a wait on food but quality was excellent. Servings are large but they supply a take home box if you ask. Recommend the pancakes

We had a shared platter for 4 people. LOTS of food! Staff were very friendly and helpul.

We had a delicious dinner here! Booth seats were comfy, the food was so we'll presented and really good portions - I had to take the rest home! The stew was so good, and the strawberry tart desert was even better! Highly recommend and will be coming back.

Awesome cocktails by the bar manager Ravi and loved their green lipped mussels, had a nice evening at their cozy bar 👍🏼

Perfect night, Beautiful company... was lucky enough to have Ced makes us the ideal drinks to compliment the night, recommend the Rum! And also makes the best Gin, two thumbs up from the Mrs... 12/10 Ced!

Unexpected amazing dinner. Whilst the reviews are good for the place , I am always skeptical. However our dinner was excellent, exceeded our expectations & the price point good. My husband had the lamb racks . The serve was large & well presented. While the service of the waitress was good, it did appear at times she would rather not be there. A little off putting & intimidating to ask anything. The ambience with the fireplace place was inviting however & we enjoyed our drinks by the fire. I would recommend.

We shared the carnivore platter for the first time last night. The food was amazing. The restaurant was full with a party of 12 outside too. The staff were attentive and friendly although my drinks order came with soda instead of tonic twice. They did rectify the problem by using a can instead of the pump. Overall a very nice evening to celebrate my husbands birthday.
