Hands down my favourite place to eat in Auckland. As a vegetarian with a vegan best friend and a meat eating boyfriend, everyone can eat the kind of food they want and there are no complaints! Everyone I have taken has loved it. Staff are friendly, food tastes great. Also, the said meat eating boyfriend is just as obsessed with the vegan cheese platter as I am.
Went last night and enjoyed some great platters, we weren't sure about the wine we wanted so were offered a tasting of 3 different reds along with detailed information about them, very rare to get such service and we were very impressed. The service was faultless without being in your face and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back to try more.
Vondels has a nice vibe, attentive staff and good food. We ordered the vegan tacos, cauliflower tempura and the vegan cheeseboard (we tried to order the fries but our kind waiter let us know we had already ordered more than enough food). The tacos were great and the wine of the day was delish, the cauliflower was a little too deep-fried for me but the sauce was tasty. The vegan cheeseboard was quite good, it almost converted my mum!
We went here for lunch and we loved the food, the service and pretty much everything about Vondel's. I had the vegan taco's and my Husband had the best vegan burger I think we had ever eaten. The wait staff were so friendly and happy that we walked out smiling. We will be going back for sure and will be trying their dinner menu. Note: Vondel has a lot of plant based options but also caters for everyone.
We stopped by for a delicious weekend brunch after hiking to the top of nearby Mt Victoria Summit. I had a corgette Scramble with chimmichuri and red onion which was x delicious. My husband had the burger which he also said was delicious. It was nice to dine outside on the patio.
Seriously delicious food! A good amount of veggie and vegan options. I love the kimchi pancake & their fries are amazing! Really delicious matcha as well 😋 the others dining with me really loved their dishes too! Stella on a sunny day.
Great service, nice atmosphere! The food was alright - we had brunch but we weren’t blown away by it. The halloumi was good. The new dish - pork with eggs was not amazing but not bad. Would order smth else next time.
Had early dinner here. Staff were lovely and incredibly helpful in regards to the menu and explaining some options for us.
The food was delicious and presented beautifully. We had crispy tofu and fries.
They have a nice amount of vegan options available on their menu.
It's definitely worth a visit, and I will absolutely be returning with more friends in the future.
Staying in Devonport fora long overdue reset. Had a lovely late dinner and a couple of cheeky cocktails. The owner was an absolute gem, so kind, the perfect mix of customer service and space to relax and dine with my book. The staff were so friendly. Honestly the best dining experience I've had in a long time. Will be going back before head home.

Great tasting food, lots of veggie options including fully vegan dishes. I didn't try the beverages but they have beer on tap. I had the kimchi pancake and boyfriend had the vegan chicken burger (he's not vegan and he had a side of bacon, which was rather sad looking and a very small portion). The burger was really good and the buns were delicious. The kimchi pancake was good, but in the menu sunfed chicken is listed as an ingredient, so I assumed the portion would be decent but it's only crumbs that are sprinkled on top. Was disappointed about that, but otherwise it was tasty. I'd go back but would order differently. Kurtis the dog is really sweet and they're pet friendly of course.
Fantastic food with an amazing atmosphere, staff were fantastic and highly attentive. Would recommend to anyone who wants a fun night out with exquisite food
Absolutely stunning food and service. Thoroughly recommend to anybody visiting or living in Devonport. A beautifully designed menu that caters to meat eaters and vegans alike, without compromising on quality or flavour. The gin and wine list is a particular stand out, with plenty of new zealand made options!
Stumbled across this place tonight and was extremely happy. Dog friendly, great food, great music and great vibe. Will be back for sure.
