Nothing fancy, just plain and simple breakfast fix to start your day and reasonably priced. Plenty of seating, good wifi and friendly staff. Will be back :)
This place looks really cozy from the outside which makes me want to try this little cafe. It is definitely worth trying though. The interior gives me a calm and vintage vibe which I definitely love. I ordered their french toast with bacon and bananas, whereas my friend ordered their burger and fries. The price is definitely good enough for the quality given. Their coffee is average but that can be forgiven because their services are great. The waiter and waitresses are really friendly. I would definitely looking forward to come back and try the others.
Had a quiet brunch at Excelsior, the service was fast and friendly and the range on the menu and pricing were both excellent. The wait for both food and coffee weren't too bad but weren't exactly fast considering the size of the cafe and the amount of customers. The Bacon Butty was very good and reasonably sized for the price, but the coffee could use improvement. The shot was very clearly burnt and no amount of sugar was saving that bad boy. Milk was done well so it's not all bad.
Would return.
Had a nice paleo breakfast here but no paleo bread but still nice light and delicious. Hot chocolate was nice but nothing worse than fake chocolate syrup all over my hot chocolate .
Went to excelsior cafe today with family. Son had pancakes which were lovely and fresh, and a generous serving. My husband and I had toasted sandwiches which were full of fillings, and a nice coffee each. I have been on numerous occasions myself but first time for my family. We were all of the same opinion that it was a very good experience for dining out and we will certainly go back. The premises are lovely and clean, food excellent and reasonable priced and service was tops.
I've been to Excelsior 3 times now and it's not too bad. Each time I've been, though, it seems to have different staff but the coffee's good and the food simple and inexpensive. Overall, it's not the best place I've ever been to, but it's certainly OK
The best coffee ever!! A great friendly atmosphere and it's not often the food lets you down. Try the home made macaroni cheese or a yummy muffin.
Very nice Mocha, a good selection of food available to, evben at 2:30pm.

I've recently discovered this cafe for lunches. They have a good menu, reasonable prices and quick and friendly service. All good really!

As two Wellingtonians in Dunedin, it was important to find a very nice cafe. Great service, amazing food and very reasonable prices. Can't ask for more.
Best Cheese Scones EVER!!! So worth the visit, honestly go there just for the scone and coffee you wont be disappointed
Spacious cafe with good breakfast / coffee specials. A good spot to people watch through the large windows facing out onto the street.
