great food,,atmosphere,,child freindly. We usually go to dunedin restaurants?bars and being from upper north island......not my thing. Normanby is relaxing, freindly, family orientantedly with good food, atmosphere, and super clean,, love it. totally recomended.. Dunedin heat Pumps Ltd..Excelent all round
Ordered the steak rare (to the delight of the chef) and it was OK. Chips were extra crispy which I like.
Missing was a dab of coleslaw or a smattering of salad and would have scored an extra point. Not that I am a screaming vegetarian but a it would have added a touch of colour. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt and the desert was excellent. The menu on this site needs updating as the prices don't line up.
Call me one-eyed, but I been in the Valley forever it seems, and have always returned to here for "Family Celebrations"... They have always been very accomodating... and have only gotten better over the time they "Locals" have kept returning
It's standard pub fare, nothing fancy. But it is done really well, with quality ingredients and wonderfully cooked. To top it all off is a really nice atmosphere, with really lovely, friendly, welcoming staff.

Booked in with the whanau for a meal, 7 of us, sooo impressed. Friendly service, hard case, Mum in her 80's enjoyed some good natured banter with the chefs, the meals are decent prices and proper homemade fare, all absolutely delicious.
This place is a winner! It's not flashy, it's simple honest fare.
Very reasonable prices, super service, atmosphere and a uniqueness that keeps it in the front of my mind. Top it all off with food made with love and you have the ideal relaxed pub meal.

We throughly enjoy going to the Normanby Tavern for dinner as a family. It is very reasonably priced, great sized meals and very friendly owners. Well worth a visit.

Great wee Kiwi "locals" pub! 44 craft beers to choose from. Sunday pool competition. Bistro out the back serving fine kiwi fare.
Pokies off to the side if you favour a wee flutter. Anti Trump memes in the bathroom and the owner is related to the famous New Zealander Fred Dagg.
