This is our go to takeaway and sit down restaurant. It's our local! We love it for yum char and refreshing Chinese food. Always a great deal and very delicious. Friendly quick service š
Went here to celebrate 23rd Birthday and as usual food, service and prices were amazing. Thank you :) recommend prawn dumplings and squid tentacles :)
I love this place.great cheap yum cha and friendly service.i particularly love the chinese soup dumplings and the radish slice.also value for money at only 4 dollars a pop.
We have had yum cha here about 8 times now. The food has been excellent every time. We have tried food that we would not usually try and it's always delicious! Great service and value for money.

Shangri-la is a nice Chinese restaurant in South Dunedin. Popped in on a Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and also very helpful with the menu options. Had some delicious yum cha for pretty cheap. They've also just updated the decor so it's a really pleasant setting. Will definitely be returning.

Tried this Chinese Restaurant for the first time, the salted fish and chicken fried rice was good. Tasty and o love the smokey flavour. Seafood Noodle Soup also could warm up you body in wintery.
I tried many new things on my visit here and was pleasantly surprised. To those who havenāt tried, you needa have the tripe. Looks and sounds strange, tastes amazing. This is a great place to eat. The service was excellent & the food well priced. We were made very welcome. For large family gatherings, it is important to book in advance. & Kids are not a problem, even if your youngest is only 1 year old. Thank you!!
The decor is not amazing, but the service and food more than makes up for it. The south city tofu Is so incredibly tasty, It's a must have dish!. The owners are very accommodating and extremely polite. Give it a try, I wasn't disappointed
We often go there when our friends want yum cha. Personally we love fresh Tofu, very soft, delicate taste which we don't get anywhere in Dunedin. Service can be slow sometimes when especially people on tour are there having lunch, but overall okay. We ordered Long bean dishes as well as noodles and both are nice.
Big size, value for money and good taste. Ordered fried rice and enough for 2. The seafood noodle soup also good. Will try other dishes.
Really delicious authentic Chinese food, friendly fast service, byo wine and good atmosphere, affordable. Our first choice for byo wine dine in experience. Family owned. Canāt recommend highly enough.
Good service. Plenty of food so bring an empty stomach and expect to take leftovers home. Good value for money. Very tasty oh and its BYO!
I go to South City Restaurant once a month with friends. The food is wonderful. Authentic. Jenny is delightful & attends to our needs very well. I will continue to go back.
