Review The Fort Enfield - Enfield

A quaint country pub about 15 minutes inland, west of Oamaru. The staff were warm and friendly. It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Great view look looking west. The food was ok for pub grub. We had the soup of the day, which was bacon & pumpkin, fish of the day, which was gurnard, and a chicken burger with fries. Meals were good portions. The toilets were clean and inside of the pub was charming.

Nice pub atmosphere, good food and friendly service. Nothing fancy, but the menu has decent variety, with gluten-free options on most items, and a couple of vegetarian choices. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

This is a must visit if you are looking for a great pub meal. Great service, and food. It was a Lovely sunny day and they have nice outdoor tables. Few minutes drive from Oamaru. I'll definitely be back.

Amazing place, friendly welcoming staff and my favourite fish and chips to date. A cold 1905 beer from Scotts brewery and blue cod go perfectly. Pleasant place to spend the afternoon with stunning views, friendly locals and occasionally some cool old muscle cars in the car park. Best place to chill out and enjoy Otago. NZ at its best !

Great food - decent sized meals. Perfect after a busy calving day

Stop off to have a drink this afternoon. Well impressed with welcoming staff and atmosphere, we decided to come back for dinner. Most accommodating when rung to see if we could make a booking, that they even pick us up in their courtesy van. Great meal and service. Definitely will be back.

Just called in while cycling past. Scone and tea was lovely and friendly staff makes for a great welcoming experience.

A quick stop on our Sunday bike ride for a bite to eat. Place was full of happy guests and we enjoyed fast friendly service and a fabulous chocolate, caramel and walnut brownie! YUM!

Outstanding! Fabulous service with a smile . The food was excellent. Chicken burger for me : loads of cheese and fresh salad Fish and chips for him : perfectly cooked with very tasty chips and the fish was cooked to perfection with lovely golden batter. We walked on the dark side and also had dessert, not that we needed it. The sticky date pudding was delish. Served with icecream , cream and lashings of caramel sauce - Devine. The ice cream Sunday served with cream , loads of chocolate sauce and nuts - perfect t! Highly recommend and we will be back.

A little gem pub with good ambiance and very tasty food at a good price. Perfect to stop on the way if you’re doing the AtoO bike trail or just to enjoy a meal or drink in good company. Definitely a place to try if you pass by Oamaru!

Great meal amazing value for money diffentlty will be back again. Well worth the short drive from town. Busy little place great to see so many people even on a cold night. U guys rock. Blue cod was so fresh 2 good size pieces chips and salad $25 be hard to beat.

Best steak I’ve had in ages! Husband had Beef burger he was well impressed, kids had fish bites, nachos and vegetarian burger, everyone full and happy! Great service and friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Amazing night at the fort. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great with a wide range of punters from families to cyclist off the rail trail and work colleagues having a wind down after work. We will definitely be back.
