Review Farm Barn Cafe - Fairlie

Lovely cafe with excellent outdoor play equipment and garden area to have coffee, breakfast and lunch. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Plenty of animals to pet too, including buffalo, sheep and deer! Lovely inside and out. Recommended!

Cute little cafe on the hill, service was accommodating, the food was good. They have a gift shop on the other side of the store. Great stop for resting pit stop. It was raining at the time, the chowder was perfect and not fishy.

We dropped in for lunch on our drive from Christchurch to Wānaka on a lovely sunny day. We had planned to have lunch in Fairlie but spotted the #FarmBarncafe on the way. We actually back tracked 7 km to have lunch on the hill. Ever so glad we did. The service was friendly, the coffee excellent and the food healthy and delicious. Don’t drive past hoping for better is my advice. I travel many months a year and it’s this kind of place I want to find more of. Thanks guys!

We discovered the Farm Barn a couple of days ago while on our way to Tekapo. Our Whanau was due to meet up for lunch in Geraldine today to celebrate our boys birthday, coming from Chch and Oamaru. From the get go, communication with booking a table at the Farm Barn was a breeze. When we arrived, the table was beautifully decorated and set up, and all of our meals, slices, and drinks were delicious! The staff were so lovely and welcoming. After lunch we wandered down to meet and feed the farm animals, and then have a play in their awesome wee playground. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and the perfect gathering place for our Whanau. Thank you Farm Barn for having us! We will be back again 🥰

Staff are lovely and the food is great. They also have a nice selection of giftware. I bought some very nice socks here!

Lovely view, great cafe and a nice place to buy merino wool, books for kids and holiday memories. A yard where animals like deer, buffalo and goats live, friendly and kids can feed them grass. Also an amazing outdoor area with a great kids playground, a baby play area inside. The locals love it and so do we!

Great coffee, excellent views. Try the yummy cakes. The giftshop has a nice selection of Kiwi made gifts and books

Homemade muffins, great ice long black coffee! Great service with a cozy cafe atmosphere and a very pretty design. It was so nice to feeling welcome!!!

The cafe is decorated with dozens of deer antlers on the roof. Very unique and unforgettable. Coffee is good. Couch seats are soft and comfortable. My kid loves the kids playground in the back yard. A very nice place to take a brief break after a long drive.

Great location with good food and coffee with pleasant service. A great place to meet up with friends and chill out over food and drinks of your choice. Heaps of off road parking. Great outdoor seating.

This was our favorite stop from our twelve day road trip across the South Island. Great coffee, scones, shopping, and vibes. To top it off, the animals are friendly and waiting for a snack from customers!

Lovely space, efficient service, stopped serving eggs at 11, cakes looked nice. Coffee was good. Curried soup was at the top end of medium hot.

Who knew stripes bacon on a pumpkin seed bagel with cream cheese would be awesome? Farm Barn of course! Warm fire and a cozy shop to boot! A must stop location between Tekapo and Christchurch! Or if you're in Tekapo and want a great view of the fertile valley- it's an opportunity say hour investment!

Great service friendly staff , excellent coffee ,food very good especially carrot cake. Fluffy for children was the best ever. Nice fire going to add to the ambience of the decor and magnificent view.

Great atmosphere even on a wet day! the cosy Fire was roaring away we had homemade soup and a toastie which was perfect home comfort food. some fabulous gifts in the shop also!

We dropped by on our way from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch. It was just by chance we found this place, and I guess we were so lucky. Everything was perfect. Ladies working there were nice and happy, small things sold by the restaurants were all cute or looked good, and of course the meals were excellent. The view from outside was so beautiful. You should visit once while staying on South Island.

Fantastic stop on the Queenstown- Christchurch drive. Lots of healthy , yummy food, great cosy seating, fantastic views. This is our 'go to' cafe from now on.

Great place to stop for coffee and cake!! Not much to chose from the lunch menu but there will be something for everyone. Fantastic views to enjoy. Will go again.
