Lovely cafe with excellent outdoor play equipment and garden area to have coffee, breakfast and lunch. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Plenty of animals to pet too, including buffalo, sheep and deer! Lovely inside and out. Recommended!
Cute little cafe on the hill, service was accommodating, the food was good. They have a gift shop on the other side of the store. Great stop for resting pit stop. It was raining at the time, the chowder was perfect and not fishy.
We dropped in for lunch on our drive from Christchurch to Wānaka on a lovely sunny day. We had planned to have lunch in Fairlie but spotted the #FarmBarncafe on the way. We actually back tracked 7 km to have lunch on the hill. Ever so glad we did. The service was friendly, the coffee excellent and the food healthy and delicious.
Don’t drive past hoping for better is my advice.
I travel many months a year and it’s this kind of place I want to find more of. Thanks guys!

We discovered the Farm Barn a couple of days ago while on our way to Tekapo. Our Whanau was due to meet up for lunch in Geraldine today to celebrate our boys birthday, coming from Chch and Oamaru. From the get go, communication with booking a table at the Farm Barn was a breeze. When we arrived, the table was beautifully decorated and set up, and all of our meals, slices, and drinks were delicious! The staff were so lovely and welcoming. After lunch we wandered down to meet and feed the farm animals, and then have a play in their awesome wee playground. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and the perfect gathering place for our Whanau. Thank you Farm Barn for having us! We will be back again 🥰
Staff are lovely and the food is great. They also have a nice selection of giftware. I bought some very nice socks here!
Lovely view, great cafe and a nice place to buy merino wool, books for kids and holiday memories. A yard where animals like deer, buffalo and goats live, friendly and kids can feed them grass. Also an amazing outdoor area with a great kids playground, a baby play area inside. The locals love it and so do we!
