Review Brac & Bow - Featherston

Seirian Borren-Robertson
Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and very efficient. I had a rosebud cocktail and it was the best cocktail I have ever tasted! The calamari popcorn was also delicious and they give out complimentary buns which was a nice touch. My main meal was good however the prawns were quite dry and tasted old.

If you're looking for a relaxed delicious Sunday morning brunch then Brac & Bow is the perfect destination. The breakfast is fantastic, service awesome, and atmosphere vibrant. Good coffee, although it was a bit tepid for me but perfect temperature for my wife and daughter. Not a criticism ... just an observation.

This place is an absolute gem!!! Visited for Brunch on the weekend & wished we'd known about it sooner. Exquisite decor, Food was beautifully plated & tasted divine. The real jewel here however, is their staff, IMPECCABLE service from beginning to end... true hospitality at its finest! Visited Sunday 11th of December, all staff were very attentive... Our main service was from the only woman front of house and based on her incredibly high standard of service we will most definitely be back.

Stopped by for some quick meals, had an amazing burger and some beer. Staff super friendly. The restaurant and hotel have been around for a while and still keep the heritage aspects.

Love the decor and love the food! A gorgeous piano and chandeliers, with gorgeous velvet chairs, a fireplace for colder wintry evenings/days. We started by sharing the Calamari Popcorn, delicious crunchy and subtle flavored crumbed tender calamari. Followed this with the 200g sirloin steak, deliciously juicy, tender and beautifully cooked! While my friend had the French toast which she said was something she would happily have every breakfast (it's on their lunch menu), the caramelized peaches were large and tasty. We ended by each having an Apple Pie (it was a bit of a struggle as we were quite full lol). The apple pie filling had actual apple slices! The cinnamon swirled icecream on top was the perfect touch! The staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend, but be aware go for an early lunch as they close at 2pm or go for dinner, or maybe both!!

Budda bowl was outstanding, the lime herb sauce is devine. The pie of the day was very good. Feijoa kombucha highly recommended. The chocolate dessert was great fun, comes in a smokey jar. Long black coffee with cream on the side. Perfect lunch. Lovely spot, and attentive staff. Don't miss this place. Dinner, wow! The chicken Alexis rated as one of the best restaurant meals she has ever had. My fish was superb, with excellent fresh hollindaise. The new venue at The Royal Hotel is lovely. Excellent staff. Highly recommended. Revisited May 2022. The new Orange Beef Cheeks, and the Orange Chocolate dessert were mind blowing. Caramel Sunday was wicked good too. Get in there. Update June 2023. The risotto was truly great with the fish. Beef cheeks reliably very good , and they always do a really nice steak. Lovely night out. Deservedly popular.

Excellent in all respects. The duck and beef cheeks were excellent. The fries are also worth ordering.

Absolutely 10 out of 10. Service, food and wine was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the superb wine list. Not a long wait for the meals and no pressure to get through the menu. Can highly recommend the duck. Wow. Will be back.

Popped in here for lunch after coming over from WLG for the weekend. Beautiful set up with relics from days gone. Well kept and little dust to be seen. Was like walking into a bar from Gibbston Valley. Service was good, but slightly cold. Both of us ordered the chicken burger. It was delicious as were the chips. A big meal! Would be great to order the burger without the bun, but I ate it all the same. Highly recommend! Hope to go back and try more dishes.

It's hard to put into words how highly my partner and I rate the Brac and Bow. The food, service and atmosphere is second to none. Wellington is lucky to have such a beautiful place to enjoy with loved ones. Thank you to the whole team for making every time we visit an exceptional place to enjoy.

The restaurant decor is beautiful, perfect for date night. We ordered the chicken and the rib eye steak - both were delicious! The chocolate mousse looked incredible and also taste incredible, however we were confused whether the flowers were edible or not. The service was very efficient and friendly, in fact we stayed 2.5 hours beyond closing time and they were so nice about it!

Always a great experience coming here, both food and drinks are always amazing! Staff are lovely and accommodating. I’m not usually a steak eater however the rib eye is commendable. Cooked to perfection, lovely sauce and sides. I’ve tried their mango crème brûlée tonight and I was blown away by this dessert. Everything on this plate was flawless, I thought I was eating a 5-star dish. I can’t wait to go back!

Great place. Flavoursome food. Went in for a drink and a snack on the way past. Looks small from the outside but deceptive as it’s large and roomy inside. Staff were lovely, caring and nice to have a chat with.

The food was delicious, the service was perfect and they even delivered a brownie with a candle on the house for my birthday. We are telling all our friends what a great place this is. We will definitely be back.

This business is a great asset to the Featherston community. From the moment you walk in you notice the attention to detail. I have been told that both owners/operators have an extensive background in hospitality. Highly recommend this café!

Sadly today only visited for coffee - best coffee I’ve ever had in the Wairarapa. Extremely speedy, polite service and an entirely compostable (and guilt free) takeaway coffee cup. Will definitely be back for dinner over summer.

Friendly service, delicious local beer and tasty food. And most importantly, we ordered chips for our toddler and they came out super fast which kept her occupied. A fantastic addition to Featherston, already looking forward to many more visits, especially to have some beers in the awesome courtyard
