Place was recommended by the hotel staff and the food was really amazing! It’s nice and cozy by the fireplace, and the rib-eye steak really shone. The hint of spice in the pumpkin soup was a stand out too. However, our only caveat is the wait time for the food, it took almost 25-30 minutes for us to get our food, and one of the waitress there’s wasn’t exactly the friendliest. However, I do recommend this place for a meal as the quality of the food is really wonderful.
At Fox Glacier you have limited options to eat. However if you are staying for one or two nights, you should come here!
I didn't expect a fancy restaurant at Fox nor did I think it would really work well but I was totally wrong. The food is great. Decor of restaurant is great. Price wise, meals are on the upper end of NZ pricing but its reasonable for where the restaurant is located.

This place was recommended by a hotel staff. We goggle the place and found that it has an average rating of 4.8, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the roasted garlic & pumpkin soup, the sea king salmon and fish & chips. The soup taste great and the fish & chips is very nice, fresh & crispy. The salmon is fresh too, but the rice is too starchy though, overall , I recommend this place.
PS: hope the rest of the lady there could smile more :)
Excellent food. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had venison and pork belly as our main. Dessert was delicious, finished the meal of perfectly in a good July night. Friendly and welcoming hospitality from the host and wait staff. Highly recommend the place and will definitely come back again.
Omg!!! Such delicious food!! We had fish and chips, lamb shoulder and venison with risotto. Everything was made to perfection.

Rare to find such fine cuisine in regional towns. Every dish made to perfection and very friendly staff too. Definitely a must eat when visiting the glaciers
The reviews were glowing and the place was well patronised by locals even midweek in April. It was an interesting menu with a good selection of unusual dishes and some tried and true - like the fish and chips. The whipped feta salad was particularly delicious. The service was friendly and efficient- a really nice evening out.
Best restaurant in fox! From the food and fair price to the service and the atmosphere, everything was amazing! Can highly recommend getting the rib eye steak with the mushroom option side dish!
Absolutely fantastic. Friendly customer service, a roaring fire and delicious food. We had the brie with candied walnuts as entree (to die for) and then the venison and rib-eye for mains. All choices were superb! Highly recommend if you're looking for a decent meal.
Good customer service and lovely atmosphere. Grilled Chicken salad is nice but a bit salty. Beef Ribeye Steak with garlic butter tastes great, and creamy horseradish Mash is amazingly delicious!
