Review China Palace - Gisborne

Really nice meal for first time eating here. Entree deep fried crumbed scallops were very nice. Main pork with vegetables and rice was very tasty. Good drink selection at very reasonable pricing. Good service. Easy on street parking. Would go back again.

First time review of this restaurant. 5 stars all the way. We opted for a dish for each person and white rice on the side. As opposed to buffet for four people. Clean and tasty food. Fast service. Attentive and removal of empty dishes on point. See you next time.

Arrived judt before 9pm. Looked after us nothing too much effort. Staff great but the food, simply amazing. It will feed the 2 of us for the next 4 days.

Yes that's a busy place, so be prepared to wait a while. Phone order what you can. Portions aren't generous i thought, for the 5 choices, for $15 isn't cheap.

Had the greatest time at CP last night. The smorgasbord was a hit, and we had a blast singing karaoke. Thanks for having us Ken and family - we will be back soon.

Very delicious kai 5 stars every dish has its own flavour and definitely not bland. Many choices from the menu and well worth the price. Cocktail menu old school and the best out - do not change🍹. Very friendly staff and fast service. Well done Gisborne China palace….. job well done 💯 PS Roast duck next time plz.

Fantastic affordable food. I have eaten here several times while on group motorcycle rides and we have made a reservation same day and been accommodated. The most recent time we had more than 20 people everyone loved it.

Big portion of BBQ pork and roasted pork! Tasted pretty good too!

This is a higlhy recommended place to go eat, the sevice is nice and also the people and also the food is top notch if you were in gisborne this is the perfect resturand to go and eat. The people there are amazing at serving you they were also very friendly towards kids. And the food there is fire especially the honey chicken 10/10 recommend. Best chinese resturand in Gisborne

Kia Ora - the kai was yum, appetizing and filling - too full actually, had to take the leftovers home, the stall were helpful, gracious and polite! They even said the enjoyed there job, when I said don't work too hard! Very happy customer, Nga Mihi- kapai nice - Al

Now China Palace has not long re-opened after renovations. We as a family were very excited to go out and buy Chinese food from China Palace. First thing we noticed was a small price increase that was understandable... we moved over to choose our 5 servings as we had purchased a large meal and to notice there were no won tons, no dim sims, no chips, the sweet and sour sauce was watery not sticky like the last and noodles had no sliced meat I am disappointed because we got home to have dinner and it's almost like nothing had flavor. New cooks maybe I don't know and the new area for takeaway is so cramped.

ooooh China Palace Buffet nights are THE BEST value and quality Chinese and Kiwi food alike! I highly recommend China Palace for a great time. Very family friendly and they even handle large family groups! They have Karaoke too!

Been there and used there delivery service also, food is great, they could fix up the decor in the takeaway area and service is great face to face, but sucks over the phone also they wont sell certain items in the takeaway area (i.e. with the combo's) if you want something that is not in the combo takeaway area you have to pay for a whole tray!

Have been there many times, Excellent service, Top food and well displayed and extremely reasonable in price.<br/>I would highly recommend this Restaurant to anyone visiting Gisborne as well as the local's.
