Review Bi Won Korean Bbq Restaurant - Glenfield

The service is great, the lady was so friendly and bubbly. A fun experience cooking the meat yourself and choosing your accompaniments to have with your meal. We tried the marinated beef and pork, both were very tasty! Also ordered a fruit flavoured liquor, Green Grape, it was so, so good! Definitely a great date night idea and a good easy location :)

By far my favourite Korean place on the North shore. The food is always fresh and tasty, the staff are so kind and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I travel here regularly from out West because I love it so much.

Pork gel is so special, the owner is so nice, they free 2 pieces of pork gel. Meat is fresh. Anw i will recommend it for everyone when they come to Auckland

My go to Korean BBQ at the moment. Amazing food and really friendly staff.

Decided to dine here for tonight because we were craving Korean barbecue and I heard about this place through the grapevine. We were seated quickly so we could get started on demolishing the food!! I really enjoyed the wide range of tasty Korean side dishes and especially appreciated the kind service of the staff when we asked for refills. The pork belly was definitely my favourite by far. Great selection of both barbecue options and hot food. Staff were attentive, regularly switching out the grill when they noticed it was starting to burn - was pleasantly surprised that the owner could speak Chinese, which made ordering a lot easier for us, Definitely will be back for more soon

Worked in Sydney for a few years and didn't really come across a Korean BBQ that really satisfied my cravings so I was pleasantly surprised when by chance I encountered Biwon. The chef cooked great tasting food, staff provided fantastic service (including tips on how to cook the meat to perfection) and the night left a memorable experience. I will be back for sure and recommend this to anyone looking for a quality meal.

Extremely cheap price for any meat, but high values, combined with best customer service creating one good restaurant. Owner comes out and talks to the customers, explaining the menu kindly, and how to cook the certain kinds of meat for those who are first time, and even BONUS MEAT! And plus to those who complain about the lettuce, you people are pathetic. Honestly you are expecting all that by only paying for under $25? If any of you have shopped at the vege shop recently, you'd obviously know how bad and expensive they are. Such a snobbish people. Get a life. I have been here few times with my mates, and every single time they were kind to us. If you want the lettuce so much, go and buy them yourself. It is not compulsory on the menu.

My partner and I had dinner here with our kids. This was our first visit to a Korean restaurant and we found the BBQ menu fantastic, particularly the marinated beef and pork belly and the side dishes that came with the meat. The children enjoyed the experience of grilling the meat at the table. An extractor fan is located above each table, which keeps the smoke away. Although it was so busy, the dividers between the tables gave us a sense of privacy. Greay value for money. Staff were attentive and friendly despite being a very busy night. It is clearly a popular place and I can definitely understand why. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a great Korean BBQ experience!

Amazing. Service was lovely, meat was delicious - and the head chef is a butcher, bonus! Even brought out a sample of pork cheek for us to try. We had the bbq oprion and it was soo tasty. Walking out of here very satisfied. 5 stars. Thanks for the great service, haven't had such high standards in a while.

Three things make up a great restaurant 1) great service 2) great food 3) great environment, this hold true to me for all types of restaurants and eateries, and Biwon meets all three in my books and is well deserving of a 5/5 in my books. Staff - really knows their Korean BBQ, aunty behind the counter is super friendly, you get seated fairly quickly once you in get in and they will set you up with the menu so you can get started on your pickings. Water is self serve here, don't be put off by the fact that there is no water table service, this is very common for Korean BBQ joints. Food - hands down, the best meat I have had at Korean BBQ in Auckland, their pork belly, OMG, it's to die for. Everything on the menu here is order by plate, I strongly recommend the pork belly, the fat just melts in your mouth and if you cook it long enough, it'll char a bit and has a really nice crunch to it. Anything beef from this place is also just amazing, if you are looking for a non BBQ dish, I can vouch for the beef tripe soup, it, is, divine! Your meal comes with all the side condiments which you can refill, and they do use charcoal fire here, very legit, brings up a hugely different flavour to the meat you're cooking. Environment - this is probably hugely under rated but Biwon has the best eating environment of any cheap eats korean restaurant I've been to (not comparing it to places like HAN). Each table get their own smoke extractors, which is super super helpful for when you don't want to smell like charcoal meat at the end of the night, and the tables are placed in a very spacious manner so you don't feel like you're literally eating next to 5 other different guests. You can actually hear each other in a conversation without shouting, which I can't say is true for most Korean BBQ places these days. Strong recommendation in my books, definitely try it out, worth the drive out to Wairau.

Great place to eat! Always seating available, friendly staff, this is a go to almost every week for me and my partner! He always gets the sweet chilli chicken and my go to meal is kimchi stew! It's delicious and easy on the wallet!

Great meal as always. Travel all the way from east Auckland to enjoy the food. They are known for bqq style which you have to cook for yourself. Its a fun way with friends to enjoy. They also do traditional dishes if you do not wish to have coal bbq.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend as I was craving for Korean food. Had the most delicious teriyaki chicken at Biwon. Portion size was fair and very filling. The service was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. Was very happy with Biwon will definitely go back!

My favourite place for kimchi jjigae. It's a BBQ place but they also serve set meals. I've visted quite a lot of Korean restaurants in Auckland and the meat quality here is among one of the best, if not the best. The staff are also very friendly and accomodating. High recommend for couple to large group.
Sam Herring
The hosts are the best. The chef is also a butcher and takes the utmost care in getting the best bits of meat for your eating pleasure A awesome place with amazing food. We always come back

Never been here before although it’s been in that place for ages. I loved the food and everything. Will come back again for real authentic Korean bbq

Staff here are super friendly. We were seated quickly and being new to the whole Korean BBQ and being novices, she recommended the meats and advised what the salads were we were also served the misi soup made with rice water which we were told is very good for you@.
We chose the marinated beef and pork belly. The marinated beef was tender after we cooked it and the pork rendered down beautifully leaving the rind crispy. She recommended dipping the pork in the salt and then the soy mix.
Food was super filling with a tea station nearby. Very reasonably priced! Great help when they thought we were over cooking the meat. Came and gave us a hand. Happy to go back.

We found this restaurant thanks to a craving for Korean BBQ and Google. We have now been twice and the lady owner is always very friendly and smiling. The only place I know of that uses charcoal for the cooking at the table. All meat is served at your table and cooked by yourself to your liking. I don't usually eat beef as I eat chicken mostly. I tried the beef shortrib and bulgogi and needless to say I couldn't get enough. Maybe it was their seasoning or marinade. Or maybe it was the smokey bbq flavours that you can only get form a charcoal fire. Anyhow After 2 visits down we have found one of our new favourite places to go when we want to have a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. We will be back!
PC
I went there last time and I saw that they were collecting the left over side dishes from the tables and put it back into the side dish containers. I’m pretty sure they are re-using the side dishes!

Very good bi bim nang myun (spicy cold noodle). Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. In my personal opinion their bbq is just about the average nothing special. But if you are into Korean cold noodle you MUST try it here

The staff of the.furniture.shop.nearby recommended this shop.I have been here for three.times. Delicious and well marinated beef. I strongly recommend teriyaki chikcken rice. The pre meal dishes are good taste as well.

We gave Biwon a visit after one of my friends raved on and on about this place being the best korean restaurant in Auckland.

Service: 7/10
The waiter was very kind and helped us through the menu. The cashier seemed new since he couldn’t work the cash register and had to ask the owner for help.

Food: 8/10
I ordered bibimbap and it came with side dishes. The potatoes in the side dish were super flavourful and absorbed lot of flavour. All the side dishes had a great taste. The classic bibimbap sauce was quite strong and I didn’t need to add too much. The vegetables tasted super fresh and the portion was quite big.

Ambiance: 8/10
There are dividers to divide each table and create a more private feeling. It’s quite dark inside and quiet so it’s nice for a date or meet up.

A good option for authentic korean food while in the wairau area. Prices aren’t too high and there are a range of options from bbq to stews.

Came to Biwon as I was craving korean food! Ordered bibimbap, marinated squid and beef soup! The soup is perfect for this cold! Bibimbap also was delicious and hot! The marinated squid is pack of flavour but it tastes a little off, not so fresh! Overall good experience for dinner with happy tummy 👍

Friendly and involved owners, with a great family atmosphere. Quick turn around, we have never been left waiting once order made. Can get very busy. Fresh good quality ingredients. Consistent high standard of food.
Not a place easy to find. We walked around then found it behind the bush.

The BBQ was great. I like the boneless beef and marinated Pork.Cold noodle was my favorite.

Staff were nice.

We have tried it several times and ever since everything was excellent. Food, service and ambiance was great!! It’s one of our favourite Korean bbq place to go in the Shore. Definitely we’ll come back! 👌👌👌

The food was all really yum and the staff were all really helpful and kind! Super affordable as well. Will definitely be coming back soon!!!

Food is great but expect long waiting time to be served. I've been here twice and it looks like they were always understaff. High chair is really old and dirty.

We come here often for comfy korean food. Their barbequed dishes are okay, a bit smaller in portions compared to other korean restaurants but filling nonetheless. Their spicy beef soup and tofu soup taste kind of similar, overall they are good but not the best in Auckland. I love their side dishes though, kimchi is always fresh.
Michelle S
Very nice Korean BBQ restaurant. Their portion sizes are super filling and their sides are your typical Korean restaurant sides. The BBQ options here are a bit expensive and if I was to go to a Korean BBQ, I'd prefer to be the buffet set up instead. The people here are super friendly and sweet. If you're looking for a really nice Korean restaurant then definitely give Biwon a try!
Carina Chang
the place is so popular during the night. they have better meat quality compared to those bbq buffet place in town. and they also made different small vege dishes which are
my favourites. also they using grid bbq tray instead of the stick tray in most korean bbq restaurant.
SM
I am a absolute Korean BBQ fantastic and this is by far my favourite place! Have been going here at least once a month for the past few years and it has never let me down, everything on the BBQ menu is amazing, the fish cake side dish is always my favourite!

Our food was good. The Kimchi has been the best I've tasted, owners own recipe...respect. It was delish. I give them a 5 on the Kimchi!
I had the spicy BBQ pork, it was more broiled than BBQ'd, portion sizes were a little smaller than the usual Korean restaurants we visit, so I was a little disappointed, but the flavors were there! This makes up for it.......but I'm still wanting more.
This restaurant doesn't deserve to be where it's located, it needs a more prominent location because the food is really tasty, staff are friendly and the service was good.
I was referred to this restaurant by a Taiwanese friend, I'm KIWI...my recommendation.....give them a try 😊 Enjoy the Kimchi! Boom!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Most enthusiastic friendly staff you will ever meet and the cuts of meat are divine. A special thank you to Young the butcher who consistently makes every occasion I visit amazing! It's so refreshing to see someone so passionate about what they do. Will definitely be coming back again and again

This is definitely a favourite for Korean BBQ!

The meat cuts are brilliant, the marinate is brilliant. The main meals are and full of flavor

The staff are great and helpful, both times we have been the chef/butcher has given us some different meat cuts to try too :)
Duncan McDonald
Amazing traditional experience. Owner and staff were wonderful and despite having 4 people there was plenty of food without needing to re-order anything. Meat was all fresh and fantastic with lots of little things brought out to try.

Price reasonable around $13 for set meals. Food taste ok to me, not bad but nothing to brag about. Portion smaller than other Korean eateries that I've been too. There is also limit on side dishes refill, only twice and cost $6 extra I think for more. Friendly owners though, so good if you are nearby and want to give this a try. They also do ala carte BBQ.

We ordered the bbq pork and the yuk gae jang (beef soup) it was below parr, I just dont have patience with this sort of mediocre restaurants anymore, its usually 3 strikes. Just take my advice dont waste your money, you are better off at Namwon Chueotang, Wairau Valley, Auckland. which is just across the road from here.
Tony Shin
been this place for a long time and the ingriedients they use are fresh and the pork and beef meals are being coming from the butchers freshly everyday
Brainless Foodie
Nice food and very good price/quality ratio, always a good moment there. Been in about 5 times, tried alot of different items on the menu, always very consistent in quality and service. Defenitly recommend for couples, family and friends! 👏👏

Usually love this place and favourite dishes being the Dolsot babimbap and the bulgogi. Tonight the babimbap came out without the usual fried egg on top that u mix through and really makes the dish moist and saucy from the runny yolk. Just a scrambled cooked shredded egg pile. I asked where the fried egg was they sed the picture is just a guide they don't do it. Explained I had, had the dish like that here before. Then I asked can I order a fried egg, so had to pay $2 for it. Babimbap was not hot like it should be in the stone pot, no sesame oil flavour or crispy rice at the bottom, and no MEAT. Sign on door states Veges and meat on rice? Don't know what has changed here, but it was so so bland and don't think I'll come back here to satisfy the babimbap craving.

Second visit and worth the journey across the bridge :-)
Such friendly owners & staff and the BBQ experience is most enjoyable, with some nice cuts of meat. The vast array of ever replenished accompaniments suit a wide range of tastes. Beer is the classic Korean beverage Hite but if you are looking for an NZ (or other than Korean) wine recommend BYO - plum & raspberry Korean wines are not to everyones taste.
Carina Calitz
Simply delicious! What a feast of flavour from the beef to pork and all side dishes! The entire experience was so enjoyable. Friendly, helpful family run restaurant. We will definitely be back! Dwight Egelhof

I love Korean food especially when it's charcoal bbq done in the Korean way! This place ticks all the boxes for me. Quite cheap and good value! These dishes even come with a spicy soup and many side dishes.

We stopped here on our way back from a road trip up to the beautiful north. The four of us were all exhausted after a great weekend, so wanted something quick and yummy to fill us up.

Upon entering the restaurant, the staff greeted us promptly and took us to our table. It was a busy night and a lot of people and their families (with little ones) were having a go at the BBQ.
After a while, a nice waitress took our order, and since I didn't want my squid to be too spicy I asked if they could make it mild. She was really nice and asked for clarification on exactly what I wanted so she wouldn't get my order wrong. Extra points.

We were informed in a humorous and friendly way by the waitress to keep chatting as the kitchen has been delayed so our order might take a little longer.

While we were waiting we were served the side dishes and they were devoured very quickly. The waitress came along not long after and saw that our plates were empty and automatically offered to refill it for us! Now that's service. Not to mention the dishes themselves were very tasty.

When our food arrived shortly one after the other, they were quite hearty portions for the amount we were paying, and my squid was cooked just right and with the right amount of flavouring. All my friend's dishes looked great as well and upon tasting they were very good and flavourful. (We did not get BBQ, but Korean meal dishes).

All in all we were very satisfied with the service and food - the only thing that was a bit of a downer were the burnt smoke coming from the BBQ plates, but alas, you can't control how skilled the other patrons were at grilling their meat!

Would definitely come here again when we're in the area.
Kate Bilham
Biwon is great for a quick BBQ meal and they also have a lunch special which was fast and fresh. What made the place stand out for us was the fantastic service. Stephanie is one of the best wait staff we have encountered. The owners made us feel special too. The food is always good and very fresh. Drink orders can be patchy when they're really busy but that happens in plenty of places.

Value for money 4/5
Service 5/5
Atmosphere 1/5 when quiet and 4/5 when busy

I'm a big fan of Korean food, having lived there for many years. I've visited Biwon quite a few times recently and to be honest, I've found the whole thing a bit lacking.

The banchan are just the stock-standard version, the bbq meat is inconsistent.
All of this I understand - they are trying to offer Korean cuisine at a reasonable price. You cannot expect high end sutbulgui cuisine for the price they charge - fair enough.

What has disappointed me on each of my visits though has been the service. If there are young men who are less enthusiastic about their jobs, I'd love to meet them. I've seen doctors deliver terminal diagnosis with more enthusiasm that the servers could manage when bringing food to our table. Ask for a refill of banchan and it was like we asked him to donate his kidney.

Cheap eats does not have to equal poor service and it is a real shame that a good restaurant allows this to continue.
Eric Gyzmo Sleegers
Unbelievably great service, my first of many to come visits.
Great food, great prices and out of this world service.
Had their bibimbap and girls had BBQ, yummy to the max.
Angela Reys
My friend recommend me here! Come with two friends and got a big pot of pork! Taste so good when it's cold. Grilled mackerel and little snack dishes are great!

We got a regular side hot pot. But I was hungry, we ordered a kimchi pancake. That is more surprising! If you are ok with spicy! I really suggest you try it!!
Edmond Shen
I went here for lunch and got the teriyaki fried chicken on rice. The serving size was small but the taste was actually not bad. There's not really anything that really stood out about the place except that the people who own the restaurant and served us were quite friendly. I feel this place probably specialises in korean bbq and not single dishes.
Tabby De Guzman
The resto is really clean, love their wooden theme. However, would probably never go back here to eat Korean food as I have been to this place a few times since they opened to see if they've improved. My favourite Korean dish is bulgogi and I found theirs a little bland and dry. Also their overall portions are very little compared to other restaurants. Although I really love their honey chicken dish, it's sweet, salty and crispy. Their side dishes are also good. But unfortunately, I have tasted better and cheaper Korean restaurants.
Rebecca Cook
Service was lovely, polite and friendly. We had the BBQ and found the meat cuts poor quality and we thought not enough meat. Sides were yummy, and it was fun.
Jo
Food was really good but it wasn't as good as Nol Bu ne in town which is my fav. I ordered bulgogi and it's a bit dry than a usual bulgogi hehe. Service was great tho and love the side dishes except for their seaweed. Their seaweed is a bit sour than the other korean restau side dishes.
Chubby
Fantastic place! Would highly recommend! Friendly staff and great ambiance! I would highly suggest the pork belly BBQ and rice beer. Great place to spend an evening with friends!

Korean hot pot has almost become my number one choice in winter. So I decided to give it a go by ordering a beef tripe and stuff mixed hot pot. The side dishes came before the main one which were quite yummy and can be refilled free of charge.

I'm a little bit disappointed as the hot pot is a bit smaller than the normal size I had at other Korean restaurants. Price is reasonable though.

Alexis Xiaoyi Wang
Not the BEST Korean bbq I've had. The service is awesome though, the Korean lady restaurant owner even speaks fluent Chinese!
Downsides are: not enough variety of wrapping herbs/lettuce, and the meat should have separated from the bone s when beef ribs are cooked, but meat is a bit tough.
Rain Bone
horrible experience for me as when i ate chicken soup and i asked where it came from, they said it was from canned chicken. The tables werent cleaned properly and the toilets were very smelly and had no soap. I also saw them taking kimchi that people had eaten back to the kitchen...the only meal i thought was alright was the meats cooked for bbq which wasnt so bad but overall very dissapointing...
Hannah Gear
So much fun! Staff were really helpful as this was our first time at Korean BBQ. We had the pork belly and marinated beef, throughly enjoyed it.

I have been to biwon couple of days ago and have experienced very poor quality customer service and had witnessed unreal behaiviour of the owner. What had happened was i have seen a lady taking leftover sidedishes which to me seemed like reusing them and i reckon this is totally unacceptable and unhygenic. In additon, in terms of the size of the restaurant, the number of staff is very small and very insufficient. Overall, i am not contented with the quality of the service or the products. I wont come back here again and hope this restaurant makes an improvement for the future.

This has become a regular for me and my girlfriend whenever we want to have a great feed (Korean dinners never fail to satisfy) without paying through the roof. It isn't the best example of Korean barbecue but you can guarantee a great, affordable meal with all the side dishes you'd expect from Korean dining. Free tea is a nice touch and we often finish with one of the cheap Korean ice creams or gelatos, which culminates in a nice experience along with chill oriental music which tends to beat the usual lively K-Pop you get with most restaurants - music which is more suitable for partying than pleasant dining. Luckily Biwon comes off as a more tranquil experience than some more commercialised operations.

Tried Biwon after reading the reviews..probably the best customer service ive experienced in auckland! Very friendly people and they helped us pick the best dishes (ive never had korean food so the menu was foreign to me).
For 2 people we paid 39$ for 2 bbq mains. Mains was a little tiny but there was a tone of complementary sides. I had a food coma when leaving because i was so full.
During the bbq the gentleman showed us the best way to cook and eat the meat which gave us a great korean experience.

Food tasted great!!

Room for improvement: add alittle more meat on the mains. :) everything else was exceptional.

Sabrina Zhou
The only place we would go for Korean bbq.
Found this place from metro cheap eat. Charcoal bbq is as good as Faro (the other famous Korean BBQ). Price is cheaper and less waiting time. And easy parking as well.
Luke N
After reading the reviews I thought I would give this place a shot. However, our dining experience was rather different from what these reviews suggested. I expected good service, good food, and a good quantity of food for the money. This was not the case. The place was empty when we arrived (nothing wrong with that), and looked rather sparse in the kitchen department. We sat down and ordered our food (two bbq beef, and one hot and spicy squid). The server had told us that one portion of beef would be plenty of food for one person, we were a party of three. The sides were brought out as soon as we ordered which made it feel as if these items were prepared well ahead of time. The vegetables looked anything but fresh. The bbq beef was a very small portion of thinly cut schnitzel. The squid was rubbery and not spicy nor flavorful. The side dishes which have, in other reviews, been reported as refillable were never refilled. In fact, we never saw the server again after the dishes were brought out. There was no real service to speak of. I had asked the server about the side dishes when they had come out, as I had never been to a Korean bbq before, and he simply replied with "they are just veges". Later on during the meal my friend spilled his beverage and although the two servers were in plain site they did not help clean the spill up. In fact, they spent the entirety of the meal giggling away by the front counter. Needless to say, I was rather disappointed with my dining experience at this establishment and how it was a complete contradiction of the other reviews on here. I won't be going back, and I can't say that I recommend it.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident, as we were looking for Korean restaurant around Wairau Valley. Service was quick and straightforward while there's nothing to shout about the ambience--it's pretty much straightforward Korean family restaurant.

Surprisingly, quality of the meat and side dishes surpass the much more expensive counterpart in town! We were pleasantly cooking on the charcoal BBQ, it added so much depth of flavour into the meat and their side dishes were pretty good too. I personally liked the fish cake strips as it was really chewy, more texture than others I've tasted before.

Between the two of us we had two bowls of rice, two types of BBQ meat, side soup and side dishes, all for only $37. One can't complain, especially when it tastes that good!
Nicola Reid
Beautiful food and great service!! The pancake was delicious and a great dish to share as a entree. I would definitely recommend the bulgogi, squid and hot and spicy beef soup! So good.

Friendly staff, warm welcome and, most importantly the charcoal BBQ meat is so delicious. I did have a good dinner with son there. Two thumbs up.

One of the best Korean bbq's I've been too! Good service and good food, the hot and spicy squid is amazing :) nice location and clean and tidy. Highly recommended
We went to this place for a family dinner a week ago, and everyone is still buzzing from the experience. Compared to the places we frequent, this was by far the best experience. Food was great - even my 9yr old who doesn't like to try new foods was picking off everyone else's plate because she loved everything!

Between 6 adults and 3 kids I think we ordered a good spread of the menu to get an idea of what's there, and not one dish disappointed. Also tried the BBQ and that was divine, especially with the colourful array of veges - YUM!! Didn't really know how to use the BBQ but the staff were only too eager to demonstrate which was really awesome!

Price wise, you could feed two people for the price of one when compared to the other restaurants we frequent so it was an easy win here. $30 for two is definitely a good indication of cost. And it's also good portions. We were a party of 9 Samoans and we left there very satisfied, very full, and very keen on going back!

Enjoyed it so much we're planning on making this a monthly crusade for the family, and will be looking forward to introducing family members to this great restaurant. Kids certainly can't wait for the next visit!

We went to this great restaurant today for the first time and was very impressed. The owner realising it was our first Korean BBQ experience, was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a Korean pancake and two meat options for the charcoal BBQ. The food came with a number of traditional sides. It was delicious, filling and great value for money. Our two young kids enjoyed both the food and the experience of us cooking the meat on the grill. Korean food and hospitality at it's best-bravo

Great service and friendly staff. Very helpful for me as a 'newbie'. Thanks, my homestays and I had a great dinner out!

Just back from an amazing dinner experience. The food was delicious & there was so much! But what made our night really special was the service, the lovely waiters were so attentive & friendly and the owners were so kind and welcoming! We will definitely be going back there again.(⌒▽⌒)

Love this place! The food is GREAT and everytime my husband & I have been here, we are never disappointed. I think also we get more (both quality and quantity-wise) than at some other korean bbq places.

What stood out though was the service, staff were very friendly, asking us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else (which believe me, has not always been the case for every korean bbq place we've been to, some other restaurants barely acknowledge you, unless you speak korean).
Very impressed and its a hit with our family.
Cafe Puff
Variety of menu, and good taste. Also affordable price.
Many side dishes. One of my favorite Asian restaurant. However, sometimes taste bit salty than usual.

Great food with great service to match! We went on Saturday night, we were half hour early but they tried their best to get us seated asap (we wern't too worried though!) and we got 2 plates of raw marinated meat + cooked dish to share for 3 + 2 extra bowls of rice and it was the best value! (+all the fresh vegetables!) Very quick to come out and we walked out very full! We will be returning! :)

Great food, great service! We ordered Najang Tang and Bulgogi. The food was delicious, not to mention the free and refillable side dishes. I used to dislike kimchi but today after I tasted it again I decided to like it ;) The environment was great too. And the price of the food didn't rip off the wallet :D
We'll be back, for sure!

I've been here twice using the deal voucher and had a great meal. I ordered calbi beef, which is rib eye so the meat was nice and tender. Very well marinated. And at least 7-8 small dishes of Korean dishes which are refillable. At least 1-4 dishes are non spicy and 3-4 are spicy. I cannot disagree more with the review below that also used voucher for the meal. They normally have 2 long strips of meat which is a standard amongst other restaurants. Plus the refillable sides makes the meal quite filling. The soup they provided has heavier taste, but you're suppose to eat it with rice which makes it very tasty. I will be going back even without the voucher.

To cut it short, if you're hungry, don't bother, we bought 2 deal "dinner for 2" vouchers, my wife and I and 2 kids, we couldn't choose what we wanted, we had to stick to their set menu, we all got a small bowl of rice, [had to pay extra for more rice] a bowl each of cabbage, a bowl each of soup that no one could eat, watery flavour and way too spicy/hot, and 4 small bowls of something to share, we never ate this as well as it was very hot, wife reckons it was a wasabi mix ,now I like heat in my food, a good curry is hard to beat, but there was nothing in this food, then we got to pick a meat, I picked the beef, what I got was one piece of thin schnitzel cut into 4 strips. To top it off, the dessert that came with the deal was 2 small scoops of ice cream, the price you pay for using those discounted meal coupons I suppose, you get what you're given. I notice one review says they loved it and they only paid $35, well I paid $104 going on the face value of the voucher, never again.

Came in last night (17/04/12) and LOVED it. This was my first Korean BBQ experience and the staff were happy to help.

My partner and I ordered two beef dishes from the the BBQ menu (you cook this yourself at the table but there are meals you can order from the kitchen just like any other restaurant). Even though it doesn't say this on their menu, this comes with a huge range of side dishes including salads, veges, soup, kimchi etc....

The meat was AMAZING - Well marinated and full of so much flavour. The side dishes were great and loved being able to try all the different things.

Our meal only came to $35 and our table was full of food - You definately get your moneys worth. Great experience & great food... Looking forward to going back soon!

I often go here during lunch but mostly for dinner.
Have always been greeted with a pleasant smile and waiter/waitresses that actually care about customer service and my enjoyment.

The food is top notch as well. I mainly go for the cold spicy noodles at lunch which is a no brainer on summer days to cool myself down. Having numerous types of cold noodles available (spicy and not spicy) is always an added bonus depending on my mood.

Dinner is great here. The smell of charcoal barbecue will test anyone's taste buds remotely close to the premises. I generally go for the beef but others tend to prefer their pork. I say both are excellent and taste second to none.

Price is excellent too and for once, quality is not compromised by such a low price. Bi Won is definitely on one of my favorite restaurants list and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who is on the look for a great place to dine.
