Wow! Just wow! We had an incredible meal at The Church Bistro last night. The food was delicious - gourmet enough to be interesting, but good portions and really tasty meals. The pudding was out of this world and HUGE! The wine was lovely. The location is pretty with lovely atmosphere. The staff chatty and attentive without being invasive. Even the owner was making sure everyone was happy.
Overall a fabulous meal out - and reasonably priced to boot!

Amazing food and friendly staff. We attended a Brazilian barbecue themed evening and everything we had was yummy. The food was generous and we will filled to the brim when we left. The chef also accommodated one of our guests who didn’t eat meat without us evenings asking. Will certainly recommend it ⭐️

Love the Seared Tuna, Pulled beef crispy sushi rolls, and the fresh salad. Kids enjoyed their food (loved the steak was extra tender) We ordered all three desserts on the menu - they were all divine! Kids and I loved the Brazilian Cheesecake ❤ Kudos to the Chef. Grateful to experience dining here. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
We went to The Church Bistro which was conveniently attached to our most wonderful Church Accommodations Cottages. The space was unique and that it is actually an old church. We started with a shared appetizer of duck confit served with goat cheese in a filo dough nest which was excellent and an indication of the meal to come. We ordered one of the specials of the night, which was a delicious seafood Thai green curry served with house baked cumin bread (I can still taste it's cumin deliciousness now). We also ordered the grilled salmon with black rice which was perfection. We shared the dark chocolate dome for dessert which was equaly delicious. The service was friendly and familiar while at the same time being equivalent to the best restaurants in big cities. Surprisingly, this bistro in this tiny town in what some may consider "the middle of nowhere" happen to be one of the best meals we've had through our month-long journey around New Zealand.
We had dinner here over the weekend and we got an entree, a main, and a dessert each, which we could not fault. Each course was cooked perfectly and the flavours were beautiful. One of the better dinners out we have had on the coromandel. Unfortunately we didn’t get photos as we were too excited to eat our food! Recommend highly!
Amazing food with even better service. We were a really tired family of 4 and this place was a calm port in a storm. The serving staff realised we had overly tired kids and just ran with it. Thank you!!! 🙏
An update to this delightful delectable place. The Church Bistro continues with it's amazing Chef and staff that keep lifting the bar on food creations and taste sensations. Our experience to date has been exceptional and our latest visit has taken things to a whole new level. We were lucky enough to be at the Church for there first night of the Autumn menu and what a cracker, absolutely superb taste sensations. It was a 10 out of 10 across the board from us with a wine list, service and hospitality to match. The Chef continues to knock it out of the park, thanks team. Very very highly recommended.
Outstanding dinner tonight at The Church Bistro in Hahei. Creative & delicious food, friendly & perfectly timed service, and a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Good selection on wine, and by the glass.

This restaurant was amazing. Right from the get go the owner happily showed us to an amazing table on the outdoor patio. We ordered a selection of the entrees, all were superb! They even included a complimentary dish from the chef. Delightful! The wine list was great, full of local wines that were tasty and the view from the restaurant was divine. Would highly recommend this - the pan seared tuna with squid ink was phenomenal.
Food experience here was outstanding. Octopus starter, beef fillet main. Exceptional execution with the food and the service was on point too. Brilliant wine selection, both bottle and by the glass. Staff were great and sitting in the courtyard was very relaxing. If you are in the area you must eat here.

The service by Mark a gentleman who cared for mum who is 96, and and Aline not to mention the amazing chef Gabrielle was outstanding.
