Hayes Common is by far the BEST place for brunch in town. The atmosphere is vibrant, hip ( like they give you free sparkling water kind of hip) and the best indoor & outdoor seating options.
Now I know that's a random thing to mention, but it really makes it a cut above the rest. If we are seated inside for a business meeting or group lunch its great and if its weekend brunch with the pup and friends, the outside tables are perfect for catching some rays!
The food is always bananas good. I love when they put cute flowers on shit, gosh I'm a sucker for that. The phone is out immediately snapping away 6 pics of the same smoothie from different angles. #worthit
The menu changes a bit with the season but never fails to impress. Let me just say, you can never go wrong with their baked pancake. You're welcome
Decided to finally get to Hayes Common over in Hamilton East. This is a cool little cafe with really great staff and some decent food.
Theres a normal menu and a vegan menu Which is a nice touch. I went for the Commoner which is their big breakfast. Eggs were chilli fried and the venison sausage and miso potatoes are the stars of this for me. The thick cut bacon was massive but i feel lacking in flavour compared to other components. The relish the serve is great.
I accidentally got a cheese scone on the way out. So fluffy worth every penny.

Went for a lunch here while visiting Hamilton. The fish and chips were not bad, but nothing special. Fries were pretty good, but a bit too salty at the bottom. The cheese burger was yummy. Mochaccino was pretty good too. Priced around 20$.
Arrived for dinner! and it was fairly busy. Loved the atmosphere and the service was attentive! The girl was so lovely that served us 😊 but overall good experience! Thanks!
Went there for work function - eight people. Shared platter meal was very good with a great range of meat and vegetable dishes. Meat dishes all came first then vegetable, and felt that could have been mixed. Friendly helpful staff.

Served within 10 min and wow are those pork buns to die for!! The jerk chicken burger wasn’t my fave though, bit dry and too sweet.

This is what we call food. I would pay anything for all their foods. Quality of food amazing! 5⭐️ Ambience is incredibly beautiful. Good vibes and perfect place to bring families and a place you look forward every weekend.

Nice place. Lots of room inside & out. Lovely decor. Staff friendly & warm. Got us a table straight away. I ordered baked vanilla pancake with lemon curd & fresh fruit, & peppermint tea. It looked way to pretty to eat lol! But I devoured it in minutes haha! Delicious!!! Wanted more! Compliments to the chef 😍👌🏽Well worth a visit!
Lovely coffee and cake. Such nice people here and the food is delightful. Missed not having my vanilla shot- syrups not available and had to come up with a plan B for my drink.
Dropped in at Hayes Common to get the Boon Arts map and start our week long hunt for the art adventure and ended up grabbing fries, flat white and Vietnamese coffee.
What I loved about this place is how hip and yet laid back it is. A combination you wouldn’t normally find. It has that comfy, “you can be yourself atmosphere” while not losing the warm charm.
Called in to Hayes Common this morning for brunch. I received a lovely welcome and was taken promptly to a table. Ordered coffee while I waited for a friend to arrive.
Service overall was excellent. Kāwhe was perfect, kai was scrumptious, and the atmosphere was perfect.
Really enjoyed the experience and glad we decided to go there. Highly recommended 👌
This place was unreal - food was incredible, good with really unique twists. Tasted better than it sounded on the menu, which is rarely the case.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. Looks like a nice place to work as it was evident from the attitude of the staff.
Stunning location, amazing vibes, the setting was rustic, very aesthetic.

I mean, what’s not to love!? You can’t go wrong. Our #1 fave place to detour to when driving through Hamilton. As a wee added extra this visit we were given a doggy menu for our Labrador, so had to partake. Xx
Love this place. We live in the far north and whenever we go south we make sure to stop in. The food is great, the Cafe is beautiful and has a lovely vibe to it. Staff are friendly and attentive. Love it!
Somehow, I ended up at Hayes Common 2 weekends in a row for dinner with no regrets whatsoever.
The sticky duck wings are my top recommendation if dining in for dinner with the lamb ribs a close second.
Big fan of the Vietnamese espresso martini too.
The staff were lovely and accommodating for my friend who brought a cake in for us all.
The only downfall was it is slightly chilly at the back of the restaurant but it's not a biggy after a few espresso martinis 🤪
Awesome food and service. You have to try the fabulous “toastie”. Good coffee. The coffee wasn’t hot enough for me personally but this was instantly sorted. Would definitely go back. I mentioned the fabulous toastie to another friend who raced there the next day to try it. Would definitely recommend and return
The set or was amazing, everyone was super attentive, but also the burgers are great. Add the bacon, not the fries as they're just a small amount of French fries. Their non-alcoholic beer/drink list could do with looking at but otherwise a nice little place on the side of the river.
Cosy place beside the river park. Lovely pork belly bao buns, lamb & kid's fish n chips!
