Review Mediterranean Kitchen - Hamilton

Right from arriving at this restaurant, the atmosphere and service was exceptional.. our Waiter was so pleasant and fun. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. We will definitely be going back again soon!

Very yummy food with amazing flavours and the staff were super friendly. It was a full house but we only waited maybe 15mins for 2 entrees and 4 mains. Kudos to the chef and the staff, would definitely come back and recommend to others

Great service. We were seated outside on a cold night, with the ourdoor heaters and offer of blankets (that we didn't need) we were warm, comfortable and had a lovely evening. Loved the food! The platters were great to share across the family.

Absolutely delicious! I was not disappointed after looking for a greekstyle restaurant when in town. The Sultan Delights lamb was so soft on a bed of hummus and vegetables, very filling, though I also had the babaganoush entree as well. My partner also loved his dinner as well which I tried beef strips with veges beef wad not stringy just cooked perfectly. Decor was beautiful with tiles and mosaic lights. Very friendly owner and attentive waitress. Highly recommend and would be back here again when in town.

Lamb shanks and mash potatoes and rich sauce yum.Meat just glided off the bone delicious and very tasty . Loved the service so hospitable and lovely host ,got a special treatment for Father’s Day and Happy with the experience.

We stopped over for lunch on our way back home and the food was amazing. Very nice big portion, meat was full of flavour and the bread was the best. We went again couple of weeks ago and had the platters with no meat and that was delicious too. Highly recommend this restaurant. You get good food for the money and the service was good both times.

One of the best Mediterranean food places in new zealand. Everything was looking like it cane out of a fine dining place and tasted even better than they looked. What a surprize, everything is authentic and all of them were favorite. Parking is free for first 2 hours, so on a lunch it was good.

Highly recommended. Great selection to choose from and good size servings. I was looking forward to the dessert menu, but I was full from the starter and main. The cauliflower starter was melt in your mouth and the Sultan's Delight really was. We also had fun joking with the staff.

Fabulous menu, would love to eat my way through every offering! The prawns were yummy and the moussaka, loved the Greek donuts and baklava. Morrocan tiling and Turkish lights in restaurant were beautiful!

We love coming here. Great and authentic Mediterranean food. If you want to try something different and not be disappointed, this is the place. A nice way to travel without having to fly to Greece or Turkey. Great service as well. Thank you!

Exceptionally delightful experience We visited the Mediterranean Kitchen for lunch during the new year holidays. The physical appearance is colourful and inviting. Being all vegetarians, we were happy to see the variety of choices. We ordered a selection of dishes for sharing amongst us. The food was served very quickly. When the dishes arrived, it was a visual treat to watch them - so well presented and colourful. The food was delicious and well-balanced too and made for a satisfying and enjoyable lunch experience. It was only when we were paying the bill that we realized that we were looked after by Adem bey, the owner himself! Highly recommended - I will be happy to visit again!

The food was absolutely amazing. The tiniest details like the freshest side salads I’ve ever eaten were definitely appreciated. I can’t remember the last time I ate entree main and dessert because the food was that good. For the quality of the food, the price was a bargain. The staff are amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

The food at Meditterranean Kitchen is amazing. The dips are incredible, fish flavoursome but not overpowering and the pide/ Turkish bread light and tasty. I have been three times and always enjoyed my meal. Service is polite and friendly, and the decor is really nice.

Making my way through the menu at this stunning restaurant. Food is incredible and packed with so much flavour! Also the staff make it worth coming back, they’re super friendly and hard working. I’ll be back for more!!

The restaurant is located on the outside of the Centre Place shopping mall on Bryce Street. We parked on the road but friends went into the parking lot. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table outside and then move inside once there was space. The tiles along the walls were quite impressive.<br/>The menu was quite interesting and had a few items that looked unique. We shared the trio of dips and I had the stuffed eggplant. The food was quite nice. The eggplant was stuffed with veges and served with a side salad. I was also able to try some of the manti and that was also quite nice.<br/>It was a nice place to stop for some tasty food.

It was our first visit to the restaurant. We don’t often have Mediterranean food so this was kinda something new for us. We loved every bit of it, from the decor to the food to the service. Staff were friendly; food was surprisingly (in a good way) delicious; the portions were pretty generous too. Overall, it was a super duper awesome first dining experience for us! Thanks for the lovely service. We will definitely come back! :)) xx

One serving is enough for one person if youre not super hungry. So make that 2 if you are. We ordered the mixed grill and the chicken grill. Was both yummy and meat was good quality. Although quantity compared to the ones i usually order in Abu dhabi wasn't that worth it. I was also expecting some turkish bread but it didnt come with the plate, instead there was pancake like toasted bread. But it was delicious so no worries about that. Id come back next time though to check out their calamari. Will update. Otherwise overall 3.

Had lunch several times at Sultan’s Kitchen, nice environment, not overly busy. Excellent friendly service, yummy food and affordable price too.

We went for lunch on a quiet day so service was super fast. We had our food within 15mins of ordering. We ordered a mixed shish, sigara baorogi and hot chips. The food was yummy. I always love trying new things and really enjoyed the sigara baorogi which, is Potato in filo pastry. Totally affordable and filling.

Came here for lunch yesterday lunch and it was so good mix grill and mezze Platter nice and I really enjoyed the food and great price great quality.<br/>Thanks to the Chef working hard the tall guy inside giving nice smile and delicious food.

Came here for dinner with family. We were soon greeted and seated rather quickly (quite impressed as it was a busy pre-rugby game Friday night). <br/><br/>The table was clean and drinks were brought to us quickly. <br/><br/>I was amazed at the portion of the food for its price. Very filling and the shish was delicious. The hummus was flavourful. <br/> The vegetarian dish was impressive too. Stuffed capsicum ( Dolma ) was very delicious. <br/><br/>There was a slight confusion with the waiter with our entree order. We had ordered Turkish bread and dip but what was brought to us was the mixes mezze platter. We had asked the waiter multiple times if this was our order and was told repeatedly that it was. So we carried on our dinner as normal only to find out it was not what we had ordered. Another waitress came by and explained the mistake and reassured us that it was alright. <br/><br/>When we got to the counter, we were met with a rather rude staff. Pretty much saying we had done this on purpose and would have to pay for the difference. We were shocked by this as we thought this issue had been taken care of. We definitely had enquired the waiter who brought the dish if it was ours and was reassured that it was. Eventually, they admitted it was their fault and let us carried on paying the bill. While this was happening, another group before us was waiting also for the manager as there were issues with their bill. <br/><br/>Although there were miscommunication and staff did make us feel like it was all our fault and that we were taking advantage of them. They did apologise for this. This was a shame as their food was very delicious.

Growing up, my mother always made delicious traditional Turkish food. Therefore, I'm usually critical when I visit 'Mediterranean'/ Turkish restaurants. <br/><br/>During our visit to Hamilton the other day, I decided to take my partner to Sultan's Kitchen. I felt like something lite, so I ordered the falafel dish and found it enjoyable. The falafels had good flavour, however the hummus was average. I also ordered the baba ganoush which came with toasted Turkish bread- yummy. I would have liked the dip to taste a bit more smokey though. He ordered the lamb shish and thoroughly enjoyed the dish, however the lamb wasn't the best quality.<br/><br/>All in all, this is a pleasant restaurant to visit. Staff are friendly, the outdoor seating is nice and the food is good.

Yum! This place was great. We ordered the Mixed Grill, Calamari and the Bread & Dips to share - Calamari was probably the favorite. Nice seating arrangements too.

This is one of my favourites! The eggplant salad with lamb is to dye for! So fresh, perfect portion size and healthy too! What more could you want....I'm addicted!

Delicious food cooked to perfection. We tried the steak and the mixed kebabs. The drizzled sauces are devine. Staff are very polite and great hosts. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and clean. Definitely going there again and highly recommend anyone going.

My friend and I have dined here a number of times since the restaurant opened. We have always been impressed by the friendly staff and the excellentvariety of the food and wine offered. I took my daughter and her husband there recently and their comment was, 'best Turkish in town!'<br/>Doreen

A very disappointing dining experience for my husband and I. We entered this restaurant with great expectations having read other patrons reviews. The atmosphere was very inviting with the restaurant having lovely décor. Unfortunately, we were seated at a table that wobbled with such atrocity that we placed our serviettes under the table legs to try and stabilize it as our wine kept spilling with the slightest movement. The tables were extremely close together which was very uncomfortable as we felt as though we were forced into dining intimately with strangers.<br/>The wait staff were rude, constantly asking us if we were ready to order and even asking if we were ready to place our dessert orders while we were eating our mains! <br/>The entrée was yummy; sigara boregi but our mains were very poor. My husband had stuffed capsicums and they were bland. I had an egg plant salad which was foul- cold mushy egg plant. In all fairness some of the other patrons mains looked delicious but we wont be coming back. Going out to eat is a real treat for us and we don't want to be rushed and squeezed in like canned sardines.

We frequent this restaurant often, its close to my place of work and the atmosphere is friendly.<br/>Each time we've eaten here we've tried something different and haven't been disappointed, this time I tried the stuffed peppers in a rich tomato sauce which were outstanding. <br/>If you want a pleasant customer experience where the food is great and you don't need to take out a 2nd mortgage to cover the menu charges then this restaurant may just suit your casual dining needs.

Dinner for six on Friday the 8th March 2013 (about 8.00 pm). This place in nicely situated on Bryce Street together with a number of good restaurants. Outside seating available.<br/><br/>Food was very good and well prepared. Recommended.<br/><br/>Service was only about average. The young girl serving us really didn't engage with us at all and needed prompting for basics. We had to ask for menu's and to place our first drinks order for goodness sake! The older man who appeared to be the manager was a little more engaging. This aspect needs a bit of work.<br/><br/>However, worth going to, and you can make up your own mind.

Rare to find a Turkish restaurant in New Zealand that offers the real deal with food like you will find back in Turkey. The offering is authentic, flavours spot on, atmosphere relaxed and you wont need to take out a mortgage for a decent meal.

Great place for good food and best value. Very nice family, great atmosphere. I will definitely be back. I really like to outside seats. I go Hamilton once a week for work and I'll go see my Turkish friend Erdem who owns the business and also works as a chef. I will recommend this place if you like Mediterranean and Turkish food.

I had a fantastic time here! We got two starters, mains, desert and x2 drinks each n it cost us $103 for everything! :-D Great value for money, full in taste bold flavours the staff were great and why not? they have fabulous bosses who meet &amp; greet their guest! I can not Wait to go back! Thank yous again staff at Sultan's Kitchen.
