Review Caffe Centrale - Hamilton

Our meals were nice, but not overly flavoured. It felt a little underwhelming. Service was friendly, but not very polished.

As I was new in town ,I really wanted to try a good pizzeria .And this one met with everything I want ♥️ Good food ,Good atmosphere,Good service 👏 Nb - Dont forget to get the garlic butter with pizza 😉

Had a party of 6, visiting from the U.S. Great experience. Food was excellent, as was the service. Server recommended two wines: Durvillea Marlborough Pinot Noir and Maren Hawkes Bay Riesling. Great wines - loved them both. All said, we really enjoyed the evening.

Best Italian food we've had in New Zealand. We had the pasta special, lasagne and a pizza, and they were all excellent authentic Italian food. Great service, plus excellent Italian beer, a must visit if you are in Hamilton.

This is the second time I've been to this cafe for dinner. The last night the restaurant was fully booked when I entered instead of turning me away. Asked if I would be happy to serve it the bar for a meal since I was by myself. I was more than happy to do this I think that this was just an incredible level of service considering most places would have just said sorry Asics available and showed me the door. Put on trial are garlic bread covered with olive oil marinated tomatoes and basil was wonderful followed by medium rare sirloin steak covered in mushrooms with a side of chips and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables in this main dish were superb. They were the best vegetables I have tasted with a meal for quite some time. As a coincidence I ended up in this restaurant by mistake I was supposed to go to the Italian restaurant next door and try their steak. I will have to go there tomorrow. Highly recommended and I will be back for a third time.

Omg, this is something fantastic. It feels like little Italia in Hamilton. Such a delicious cuisine. We've got a brilliant pizza with a great balanced taste and pasta with a fabulous sauce. Book a table ahead:)

Good food, but quite overpriced. Anyway, it's waaaaaaaaay better than the other Italian restaurant we went to here in Hamilton (Portofino - worst restaurant I've been to in NZ - this place is outrageous). So, I haven't tried Adriana's yet, but, so far, Caffe' Centrale is the best Italian in Hamilton in my opinion.

Reasonable Italian restaurant in town. Booking is recommended. Cosy table and seating arrangements and nice warm meals. Enough to satisfy your Italian cravings.

Tracey and the team have hosted my 30th and also my Mum’s 60th and have done the most amazing job. They make you feel super special with their personalised and warm approach and the food is always magnificent. Such efficient service and also patient with big groups. Thanks for the consistency and being the best team!

Easily the best Italian I've had in years since I was last in Florence! Traditional Italian flavours, great friendly service with a smile, reasonably priced too. Definitely recommend trying it out if you are staying across the road.

I was here a month or so ago, I really liked it. I had the Veggi Nochi which i really enjoyed. It was nice and quiet inside so not to claustrophobic. Enjoyed my meal. I would recommend.

Don't be fooled by its quite outlook.The inside is always full house. Their appetisers and main courses are the 'go to' options if you want some authentic Italian meals.

This is our favourite restaurant! Always great, authentic food and friendly service. The gnocchi is SO good.. but then, so is everything I have tried here. Thanks Caffé Centralé! We will see you again soon.

I don't often feel urged to give a 5 star rating, but couldn't give anything less. My wife and I had a reservation here last night. We were treated by Tracey and her team so warmly, we felt so welcomed as soon as we entered the door - a part of the family even. We were blown away yet again with the service here, they are so consistent and sold out for their customers, it's rare to experience it so genuinely like this. I enjoyed thoroughly, the tortellini and my wife and the carbonara - which both were beyond exceptional. Words fall short for our experience, we both cannot wait to come back! We were staying in the Novotel across the road and had to decide between the two Italian restaurants opposite. There is just a Thai between these two. We picked this one on the reviews but the other one was pumping and this one was empty. The Decor is a bit bland and could have done with table cloths or something to liven up the place. Service was friendly and we ordered . Lasagne, carbonara and ravioli. Food was okay. Nothing special. Nice that they had plenty of vegetarian options.

The most iconic traditional Italian food I have ever tasted - all Italian staff too so they know their stuff! My plate was left squeaky clean. If I’m even in town again I will only be coming back here. Loved it

Very friendly staff and great service! Went with my partner for a quick dessert during peak dinner service on a Saturday evening, however we were accommodated for and had the most delicious tiramisu. We will definitely be coming back for a meal. Thanks!

I have now been here twice and both times i have been blown away by Alessandro's amazing service and there truly spectacular food. It certainly has my pick as the best restaurant i have been to and by far the best in Hamilton.<br/><br/>i don't know how these people that have rated it poorly can do so it really is fantastic, small homely feel about the place makes you want to come back

Fantastic! Friendly atmosphere & brilliant service. <br/>Initially they got my order wrong (was very busy that night), but they rectified instantly & apologized profusely even offering a complimentary drink. The food was amazing, had that home-made appeal to it. Will definitely be going back when in Hamilton!

We have been going to Caffe Centrale for years, but since the lovely sisters have left, we have not visited often (we so miss their personal service and feeling part of the family). We ordered our usual meal, garlic toast and bruschetta, spag bol, vegetarian ravioli, mushroom risotto and eggplant "lasagna". The food was consistent and good; however the "homemade" raviolis seemed too similar to frozen brand PASTA MIA frozen pastas for coincidence (Pansooti: Pumpkin &amp; Parmesan and Ravioli: Spinach, lemon &amp; Ricotta); really disappointed. Also the size of the breads have seriously been downsized. Our waitress was pleasant, but it seemed more like we were visitors than family. The most positive note....the glass of Astrolabe Sav Blanc was generous :-) Average food for an above average price.

Pretty average Italian food, have definitely had better. Garlic bread seemed a bit stale. The special of mushroom ravioli was tasty but seafood pasta was not a hit. Crepes had obviously been pre-cooked then stored in the fridge. Not warmed up at all &amp; similar to eating rubber! Waitstaff were friendly &amp; pleasant, nice intimate atmosphere but not a "must return" experience.

Decided to eat here on spur of the moment, but encouraged by other mm reviews.<br/>Arrived 6.30 and the place was empty so retired to a bar up the road for a predinner drink. On return discovered the place almost full and buzzing - and this was a sunday night!<br/><br/>The food was plentiful and tasty, good ''honest'' italian fare and we were attended to by a friendly waitress throughout the evening.<br/><br/>A nice touch at the end when the chef came out to chat to us, and try and convince us to have a pudding (next time for certain as we were both absolutely full up on mains of gnocchi and canelloni.<br/><br/>Definitely a family bistro type place that I'd take the kids to next time - and lots of the menu I'm looking forward to trying.

Stumbled across this place, and really glad we did. Our waiter, Alessandro was extremely friendly, cheerful, and helpful, despite being pretty busy!<br/>Both really enjoyed our food: bread and dips were delicious, and a good starter for 2. Gnocchi blu was delicious (but very rich - be warned!), and the special of Fettucine with chicken and mushrooms was very much enjoyed by Mum. <br/>Can recommend the limoncello cream for a digestif after dinner. :)

Hubby and I went here a few weeks back. We had an amazing meal here - was very authentic - staff, atmosphere and food. Would recommend...in fact we're going back this weekend with friends of ours from our of town. It was that good and we eat out a lot!!

Our meal out was supposed to be special but the food was awful, spaghetti carbonara was a ball of noodles with greasey bacon complete with rind and fat, soaking in oil, could hardly taste anything to be honest/ and it was a stingey small meal, not like the usual Italian restaurant sizes. was hoping for a nice dinner but you have to try them to know, might go Mexican next time.

Tried this restaurant because they're in the entertainment book and I have to say that I agree with all of the other reviewers. The food is SO GOOD! I was transported back to Italy for a moment in time. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants food packed with flavour, great service and a cosy atmosphere. I'll be back (probably many times!). If only Italian food wasn't so packed with calories (but it tastes just so goooood!)

This restaurant was so worth the visit :) I was dining by myself as I do often and I would like to say “My dining experience was awesome” I wish had taken my teens they would have enjoyed not for young kids though…. It is welcoming and look toward novotel quite nice to sit and people watch :) It's comfortable and the staff oh so friendly and of course the food and recommendation from staff on wine was spot on great food authentic taste yummy simple Italian salad and smiley cook thanx I will be back with company or alone :) .

ooooooh it was beautiful!!! Started off with bruschetta - yummmm, my raviolli and hubby's stuffed chicken was absolutely amazing. Friendly service, italian chef and the window seat, what else we could have asked for??? It was like we were in Mini Italy. I finished the beautiful night with my dreamy tiramisu, hubby ordered zabaglioni (not on the menu) but the chef showed no tantrums to make the night even better.... lovveedddd it.. definitely going back again and again and again.....

Been there many times, and always had a great experience. <br/>I'm Italian and this is the only place in town where I can REALLY find Italian chef and properly cooked Italian dishes...<br/>Not to miss out!!
