Review Saint Lazarre Cafe - Hamilton

Was an enjoyable lunch, both meals were lovely. A beautiful spot to enjoy your coffee.

Very clean and well kept. Great service and good coffee, some of the food choices are a little odd but I would imagine there is something for everyone here.

Very friendly and good costomer service.. loved everything sold there even though I have not tried all but whatever I have tried loved them all...

This is in Casabella square just round the corner from the bus stop. Just time for a quick drink before going to a funereal. The coffee was well made and hit the spot and we had a couple of little cakes which were yum.

I love this cafe. The coffee is very good. I have only tried the cabinet and found it delicious. It is my place to go for some peace and quiet. I love sitting outside in the plaza area.

Really good coffee, and not at all crowded. The food was mostly good too, but whatever that was on my eggs benedict, it wasn't hollandaise. It was very nice, mind you.

They serve a long black properly with good coffee, hot water on the side and I also have cream on the side. Indoor and outdoor tables.

Really nice place in a courtyard. Food is lovely and nicely presented. My mocha was perfect.

Great coffee

Customer service wasn't great - like the staff wasn't prepared for the day yet. Ordered broccoli soup but there's no broccoli mash or even flavour of broccoli in the soup. The soup was quite cheesy, may suits cheese lovers well. If so, why it's called broccoli soup??

This cafe seems to have very little French influence, despite its marketing. The wait times have been long each time I’ve been, none of which have been at especially busy times. That being said, the staff are friendly and food is delicious. I would recommend the seafood chowder. The location and setting are also lovely, which all together make me willing to look past the long time spent waiting for food.

Walked in & was instantly welcomed by a staff member. We ordered our meals & it arrived 30 minutes later. Didn't mind the wait, as it was a beautiful late morning. So my hubby & I sat outside & chatted about family & work. Food arrived with a smile, & we absolutely love our meals. My husband had a beef burger with fries, & I had seafood chowder with crispy bread. It was delicious!! Compliments to the chef. I love the place, the decor is of French influence & it had a warm feeling to it. Will visit this place again. Thank you to Saint Lazarre Cafe!

30+ minute wait for the worst coffee I've had in Hamilton on a relatively quiet Sunday morning. Food was underwhelming as well, wouldn't recommend

The worst eggs benedict I have ever had!!!<br/>Not sure how they made it but..... have never tasted a sweet hollandaise sauce. It was so horrible and ruined the dish as it was poured over everything. <br/><br/>

I've been here twice while in Hamilton for work and both times the food was generous portions and delivered in a timely manner. A nice little café tucked away

Food was very average - the bacon and mushroom corn fritters were tasteless. The mushrooms appeared as a grey "gloop".<br/>The apple and date slice was rather dry, and again tasteless.<br/>Service was OK. Coffee acceptable.<br/>Tables looked a bit worn and were squashed together.<br/>We had expected something with a bit more "panache" given the name of the cafe, and the prices we were charged.<br/>I don't think we will visit this cafe again unfortunately.

Discovered one of Hamilton's best kept secrets this week. Their seafood chowder with french pastry on top was to die for. Sat in the sun in the courtyard area and was so pleasant. thank you so much for your excellent food and service.

Set in the lovely Casabella lane on Barton Street, a little lane lined with boutique shops that offer a lovely reprieve from the main street bustle, which opens out to a court yard complete with water feature and statues. Here you find Saint Lozarre Cafe Francais, the copper topped outdoor tables, a nice options to enjoy the sun and get protection from any prevailing wind. The flashing coffee sign gives the first sign that all may not be what it seems and I must say I was a little disappointed with the cake selection which while plentiful, some had been there for a while. As I was looking for lunch I settled on the Curry Lamb Pastie, which was well plated with salad and visually pleasing, however there was an overabundance of tomato sauce and dressing however it was tasty enough, a nice gentle curry flavor and served by James who was polite and friendly. The coffee while nothing to rave about was ok and so while the experience was not what you might expect for a boutique French café it was overall….ok.
