Beautifully furnished and cared for. We enjoyed the spa in the deluxe suite and had a second-story view over the snow-topped mountains. Great space, very quiet, perfectly situated. Staff all excellent and on site 9am-9pm. Don't forget to ask in advance for your complementary newspaper.

Had a wonderful stay at the St James. Absolutely top rate customer service which makes such a difference. Convenient location right in the village, but tucked away far enough overlooking a park with lovely views so it hits just the right balance. Would stay again for sure!

Winter holidays. Loving this place. Easy walking distance to the pools and shops. Clean rooms. Staff were awesome. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Stayed for one night, but would love to come back and stay for longer. Large, immaculately clean room which is furnished well and a very comfy bed. The balcony and views were the icing on the cake! The room was quiet and private with lots of space. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful, they even provided towels for the hot Springs! Restaurants, shops and Springs all within walking distance. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a home away from home whilst in Hanmer!

Very clean, great bathroom, heated floors, big TV with Sky, Netflix and YouTube. Warm, quiet and being Hanmer walking distance to everything.

Brilliant location, very clean apartment and excellent customer service from Front desk. We booked an upstairs executive spa room with balcony (room 206) which was well worth it, amazing views, walking distance to bakery that opens early for coffee and crossiants and stumbling distance to all bars. Can not recommend enough

Photo is the view from our room. Great location and very welcoming and friendly staff. The room was ever so slightly on the small side, and the bed a fraction too soft for my taste. But otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

A bit pricier than other places but very immaculate. Feels brand new. Great facilities if you want to eat in. Spacious rooms so a significant step up for your typical NZ 'motel room'. Decent balcony. Would definitely stay here again.

St James was a lovely place to stay, with beautiful views of the mountains. The room itself was large and felt very comfortable and nice to be in, it felt like it was quality, not something cheap trying to be flash. Had everything we needed and more, good facilities inside the room, and the underfloor heating was a nice touch during the winter time. Only real faults I could find, no partitions between the balconies so you could see directly at your neighbours, which I'm not a fan of. There is also a footpath right behind the hotel, so definitely not a super private experience. That said, the hotel is super close to town and is just a nice place to be. Recommend a stay here :)

We booked the Executive Spa Studio for 2 nights. There was a warm and genuine greeting by Paul and Rae when we arrived. The room is lovely, kitchen has all the amenities you need, bed is very comfortable, bathroom floor is heated and the spa bath was awesome. All the little extras like the chocolates on arrival, free DVD's to watch in your room (there is a great selection), comfy bathrobes, nice big umbrellas if it's raining and a bag with towels for the hot pools were greatly appreciated. A small maintenance issue was resolved immediately. The rooms are quiet and you have a great nights sleep with parking right at the door. Would definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a immaculately clean, well-managed and nicely equipped room. If we are back this way again, we would definitely stay here. Thanks Paul and Rae for such a good stay.
