Review Sutto Caffe - Hastings

Not so welcoming place but I was so hungry so enjoyed the food. I had Flat white and i think it was called "Big Brekky"

This cafe was a delightful find, as we only went here as we happened to notice it while walking down the main drag. Despite knowing there was a great option just around the corner we decided to give this place a go, and it turned out to be a dlgreat decision. The interior was nicely decorated, but not only that but it was a very kid friendly establishment as well. They have a little play area for younger kids, which is something I've not seen often in cafes in New Zealand, but a great addition. The only trouble with the play area was the toddlers were more interested in playing than eating. My wife and I both got the Rosti Bene and it was the perfect brunch. Well cooked and yummy. It was filling too, which was a good thing as the day as we ended up being busier than expected, so it was the only real meal we had until dinner that night. The staff were friendly, and able to negotiate around kids going to and from the play area with ease. It was relatively busy when we went in, so we were told our food from the kitchen was going to take longer than normal, but we were pleasantly surprised when it came out in a normal wait time. I think this place is well worth a visit if you're in the area, especially if you have young kids.

It was pretty good very standard fair. Good service. The cabinet food looked ok. Like so many cafes these days they are not doing anything to stand out. Definitely wasn't bad just nothing special.

What are wonderful find. We loved the food, and the service was excellent and fast. A little cold inside, but we soon forgot that when we started eating our yummy meals. Thank you.🙂👍

Absolutely love this cafe the food was delicious and the portions definitely matched the price aswell as delicious coffee. Unfortunately we don't live in the area and we won't be able to go more often.

Go to Sutto all the time! Food is always amazing, although a bit overpriced. Coffee is normally quick and delicious. Service never fails to impress me, the girls are always super friendly. The vibes at Sutto are always on, but lately there has been awful jazz music playing which really ruins their quirky atmosphere. Overall one of the best cafes in town.

Highly recommend the Sutto Burger. Juicy flavourful and just the right amount of sauce. I also recommend the Banana Mixed Berry Smoothie with cream and a berry swirl for the drink. UPDATE: Today I ordered the Savoury Omellete, delicious.

Visited Sunday morning for breakfast food was well presented and large portions. Very good service and coffees n smoothies were fast to come out. Would recommend 👌

The best sausage roll I have ever tasted. But I wouldn't have it again because of the price. It was lovely to sit outside and there was a very well behaved dog at a nearby table with other customers, good to see dog friendly cafe's.

Great coffee and lunch enjoyed a relaxing time at sutto. Highly recommended to all! Amazing in every way :) food, service, staff, venue, everything...

Their omelette is shocking delicious! Quite big portion for brekki so maybe save it for a brunch or a very hungry mood day. Basil pesto on top is the best part.

My husband and I decided to have lunch at sutto cafe on the weekend. Presentation was beautiful, decent portion sized meals and tasted delicious. Coffee was on point � Was so good we went back for breakfast the next day �

Excellent service. Delicious food. I had the rosti with mushrooms, tomato, poached egg, avo. Best tumeric latte ever. Clean, warm and inviting. Def worth the visit.

absolutely LOVE sutto. but came in last weekend & it was a little busy but we waited a whole hour for our food, & we had 2 little ones with us. eggs were good as always. but pancakes were horrible, they deffs werent freshly cooked, its like they had been heated in the microwave or something, edges were hard & was dry & berries were still cold tasted like frozen berries, also no syrup. & not to mention pancakes are so tiny, considering price you pay for them. i use love pancake meal, but not so much anymore.

Called in for a takeaway coffee and it was one of the best I have had in a long time! Lovely cafe, people and beautiful looking food. I will be calling in again, but next time to sit and relax. Awesome service!

This place has an awesome atmosphere. Whenever I'm with family or friends or by myself I always find myself enjoying my time here. Excellent customer service and delicious food. Their iced coffee is the best I've ever had in my opinion.

Nothing like an open steak sandwich post night shift at 8am. Chur! For the awesome menu and kai was ataahua! Kia ora to the chef.

Had eggs benedict which was okay. But my pregnant girlfriend was given pancakes which she couldn't even eat a third of, hard stale and disgusting tasted like cardboard! Then the coffees were burnt and we couldn't even finish them. Sad to say the worst experience I've had, shoulda saved the $40 for maccas.

Returned to my favourite Hastings cafe after 5 months away overseas to find the same excellent service & food BUT not the same with the coffee unfortunately. It was good and strong but not hot!! Nothing worse. Too shy to return it or say anything but will ask for extra hot next time

Have been going to Sutto almost daily for years now, the staff are amazing and always happy to see you. Great food and coffee, always a lovely experience going here.

Always been happy with the service and food until today. Was spoken to rudely by one of the staff and told that customers are their priority. I was confused as I thought I was a customer.

Exceedingly disappointed ordered hot cakes with no bacon took the berry option. Breakfast arrived with bacon, frozen berries and stale hard hotcakes. Server was apologitic and we took the refund option. Will give the place a miss for a while hopefully others have a better experience.
