Not here for the decor but rather the excellent food (fresh caught local fish & great chips) & the helpful staff. A steady stream of customers the evening we were there was confirmation of quality at a good price :)
It's a takeaway joint. No atmosphere but who cares. The food was great. Snapper and terikeke and most excellent spring rolls.

I went in at about 6pm and placed my order. Service was super quick znd friendly.
The kumara chips were perfect - not at all soggy, and not overcooked and dry.
The hot dogs were cooked well, with nice, crisp batter (although I do wish takeaway places would go back to battered sausages, which I much prefer to battered saveloys - just a personal preference).
The fish was tasty, although the battered fillets fell apart as I tried to lift them out of the paper, and the battered stuck to the chips, which was a bit messy.
The spud chips looked nice, but I didn't try them (allergies).
As for "atmosphere", it's what you'd expect from a fish & chippy, with a few seats to sit on while you wait. It was very clean.
Plenty of nearby parking on the road.
I'd go back.

Great fish and chips, one of the best in the world I've had. The chips were top notch and the crummed gurna fish was spectacular and tasted fresh. 10/10

Taste fantastic. Oysters tasty, very fresh, with light crispy batter perfect. Chips same. Only hitch I ordered 8 oysters, and was at least 2 short, rang shop, and owner offered two free ones now or next order.
