The place is so lively and food is great! Large portions and very tasty.. The staff if also very accommodating and service is smooth though we had to wait a little longer due to 2 big groups ahead of us. Nonetheless, it was a great experience.

My boyfriend and I went there last night for his birthday and it was absolutely the best decision we made! The food was amazing, the pork rib was more than perfect! The ultimate onion was also a must try. The staff were really nice n friendly, the vibe was comfortable, we enjoyed every minute there. Already recommended this place to everyone we know after we left. Will go back for sure!

First time here in about 7 years and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Really recommend the squid and peri peri chicken. I had to be rolled out of there (figuritively) because I ate so much - it was all so good! Good atmosphere, albeit a little noisy. But I suppose that shows how popular the restaurant is! Great servers too.

We dined in, on Wed night, as it was our 38th wedding anniversary. The food was yummy…hubby had the ribs and chicken combo and I had the peri peri chicken livers. I would’ve loved the livers to be more chunky… not as fine as they were. But the taste was good. The ribs and chicken were cooked to perfection. The Malva pudding was just as yummy. Our server, Violet, was wonderful! She was friendly, professional and it looked like she enjoyed what she was doing. Which is important. The atmosphere picked up, once more people arrived. We had an early dinner at around 6pm. Overall, the vibe was good.

Easily the best steakhouse in Auckland for us! Always our top choice to bring our family or friend from overseas as the food is amazing and variety of menu options can cater to most dietary preferences. We usually celebrate special occasions here, lovely ambience but not too intimidating for people like us who do not really fancy fine dining restaurants. The staffs are always pleasant and accommodating. My all time favourites are their scotch fillet steak (medium well done right & flavorful!) and calamari. Appreciate it that they allowed me to keep a small cake in their fridge and when I requested it back after dinner, they asked if we’re celebrating a birthday, prepped the cake with some candles & sang us a happy birthday! Thank you always guys, keep up your fantastic food and service. You are amazing! See you again soon :)

Huge portions, particularly of meat if you're a hearty meat eater. It's a cosy place and it was filled to the brim. There were two birthdays celebrated with it announced across the restaurant. Customer service was good enough, not out of this world for dinner service. But attentive enough and responsive. Lovely tasting food and a homely vibe to the place. I'd visit again.

Had an amazing lunch at the Bushman's Grill today. It has been a long time since our last lunch here. it was amazing! Brilliant food and great service! The price is pretty good and the atmosphere is always great. Highly recommend everyone get down there for lunch!

Excellent service, staff are very friendly! Food was absolutely delicious, will definitely return. My only criticism is that they don't serve pap or south african beers. Other than that, we had a great time and great meals.

(October 2022); Visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening as it was highly rated (4,6 stars on average with 1171 reviews in total) and the menu and pictures looked promising. I gave the steak and chicken combo (Eye Fillet and flame grilled chicken leg) a try. Steak came exactly at the requested cooking stage (medium-rare) and was super delicious. The staff was very friendly. (July 2023): Visited this place again during my Auckland trip. Everything was excellent again.

Great night, meals were a good size and came out around 30-40min after ordering which gave us time a few drinks and conversation, everything was cooked perfectly and plenty of options to customize your meals. Staff were polite and busy but still made time to sing a few people "happy birthday" which was a nice touch. Will definitely go back. Thank you

New to the glendene area. Google searched Steak dinner near me and found this place. Hidden gem at the end of Hepburn Road. First time trying this and definitely won't be the last. Ordered a picnic feast expecting small portions for two people but recommended for 4 as per website. Massive portions, exceeded expectations everything was cooked perfectly. No need to go nandos for flame grilled chicken try bushmans. Food coma at its finest. Thank you for the awesome feast.

First time here led in by a bunch of the good reviews. The pork ribs were good. I'd usually try beef but went for the chicken seeing a tasty pic, and regretted. Most of all, I was so excited to find a baked potato with sour cream but it was nothing like an American one. The potato was cut in 6 or so pieces.... why? The cole slaw was fresh but bland.

Despite living in the area for 15 years I had never been here. On recommendations from a friend after they donated a voucher to our school fundraiser, I thought I better try it out. I was so impressed with every aspect, the staff were attentive and friendly, food was amazing, definitely recommend the Ultimate Onion! We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed, but didn't feel like we waited long for our food. I would definitely suggest making a reservation as this place is clearly very popular.

It was a busy Tuesday at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive, one of the staff offered a kid menu without as asking. The staff came a few times during the meal to check if everything was alright and if we needed anything else. Our table was re-booked at 0730 so the staff informed us prior to ordering. However, they came again to let us know we didn't need to rush because the booking was modified. We had a great time at the restaurant and will definitely come back again. We ordered Pizza Bread, Ultimate Onion, Steak and Ribs. The food was amazing, Ultimate Onion is a must-try. My T-Bone steak was cooked perfectly to medium-rare. Thank you for the hospitality.

Before flying back home to Manila after 3 weeks of enjoyable vacation, my son brought me to Bushman’s Grill. I asked him what’s in the place and he said it is reportedly the best steakhouse in Northshore, Auckland. Being used to such fanfare I ordered a rib-eye scotch fillet, cooked medium well. It was perfect with the small marbles evenly distributed in the meat which was tasty and succulent! Its not just fanfare. Bushman’s Grill being the best steakhouse in Northshore, Aukland is a fact.

Had my birthday celebration at Bushman's last 17/June/2017 with 35 guests... Indeed, twas a worry-free event!!!! This was made possible by Deidre. The party details I requested were spot on including the songs playlist based on the party theme. Glen, the duty manager is equally efficient. The food quality is of high standards yet very reasonable. The place is cozy. My family, myself and my guests were all satisfied. Again many thanks to Deidre & staff. Keep up the good work. I have cooked a lot of peri peri chicken and apart from Mozambique I have never found a restaurant that does it well. Bushmans Grill you cooked a very good peri peri chicken well done and will be back.

Great food and service. My favorite place to go when I want to taste my favorite South African dishes just like the way they make it back home! Seeing South African ciders on the menu makes it even better!

This is the best restaurant in Auckland. Their food, quality and service is amazing. I have never had a bad experience there. The family owners are amazing and greet each table individually. The owner knows her clients by name. It's amazing to feel so valued. I will keep going back!

Upon recommendation, we took our in laws here for dinner while they are visiting NZ. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak, cooked to perfection. Comments from my husband were along the lines of "best steak i've had since in NZ". The in laws loved the ribs and schnitzel. Soft and succulent. Our waitress was attentive, the facilities are clean and overall an enjoyable experience. Well done Bushman' s Grill!

Bushman's Grill is okay. There are much tastier and less pricier chicken and steak restaurants a suburb over in Takapuna. My eye fillet was beautifully cooked, thank you Chef. I'm glad I can tick this restaurant off my list.

We ordered bushmans grill and being the level 3 lock down, we got delivery. It arrived right on time, was nice and hot and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend. I hope they continue to do takeaway even after the lockdown!

Bushman’s Grill was the restaurant my boyfriend and I went to on Valentine’s Day. The service was lovely, each diner was gifted a small box of chocolate and that was a generous gesture from Bushman’s. I got the sirloin steak (medium rare) with creamed spinach and he got the scotch fillet (medium rare) with fries. Food came out at a reasonable pace for a busy night so very happy about that. <br/><br/>I’m going to start off by saying the creamed spinach was really delicious. Super creamy and melted in your mouth, no chewing required for any lazy eaters! The onions were delicious too! A bit sweet that went very well with the meat. The way the steak was served was beautiful as well. However, my sirloin was a little tough and more towards medium rather than medium rare. There was still some juice but I expected a bit more from a steakhouse. <br/><br/>I do recommend to give Bushman’s a shot as the service was good and it may have been a one-off for a busy night but next time I might order my steak rare.

Came in for lunch and ordered. Then noticed that the table next door got told about the specials Waitress was a bit grumpy and more concerned about her coffee than serving us or to tell us about the specials. Food was exceptional though, no complaints there. Will be back.

I like the place, we come quite a lot. We have never had an issue with the food but the service can be a little grim depending on how the wait staff a feeling.

Have been wanting to go here for a long long time and finally been able to go! <br/>The place has really big portion sizes, with some delicious options including the baked potato and chicken wings. Their steak was cooked perfectly. The mushroom sauce although was delicious was very thick and not pourable.<br/><br/>The service here was good – food came out a tad slow, but the staff kept us informed and consistently kept our water glasses full!<br/>

If you are craving for delicious chicken legs and ribs then you must visit this restaurant. Their family platter which contains 4 chicken legs and 4 rack of ribs is the perfect feed for 4 people. You can choose 4 different type of sauce for the chicken legs. As you can see from the picture, the sauces completely covered the chicken legs and ribs. The meats are so flavourful and succulent. They have a large variety of meats and other BBQ items on the menu. The combo items are quite good so that you get to taste a bit more of everything. I grabbed the rib and chicken combo and there was a choice of sauce as well as sides. We also grabbed an onion flower to share.<br/><br/>The food was quite tasty. Nicely flavoured meats and the sides were also nice. Portions were quite big but you are able to take away so it was a meal for the following day. <br/><br/>The food is quite nice but parking is a bit of a pain, we had to park down the road as all the spots outside were full.

Our new Steakhouse for family get togethers. Everything I’ve had from here has been in point. T-bone steak was perfect medium rare, and huge so kind of struggled after cleaning up in the blooming onion and calamari which are both so good. They don’t hold back on the portions. Had a full rack of ribs the last time and was tasty but for my 62kg body, was a bit too much so would go half next time. Everything just has so much flavour

We dined in several months ago after several of our friends recommended to try their Family Platter which costs $78.00. We visited the place on a Sunday so we got more bang for our buck as they have Family Platter on special during that time.  Instead of paying $78.00 it costs cheaper at $76.00 plus you get 2 free Rib Portions this means the whole meal consists of 4 Portions flame grilled Ribs, 4 Chicken legs (in Peri Peri, Lemon & Herb or Sweet ‘n Smokey flavour), Large Chips or Spicy Rice and a Large Salad. Seriously their platter was tummy filling!

Celebrated my 50th birthday there last night with family of 30+ in a private area adjoined to the restaurant, food was served out in reasonably good time considering the amount of family there, food was excellent staff were very friendly and accommodating and patience with us ordering our meals considering we started a little late...throughly relaxing and enjoyable evening...thank you Bushmans Grill.

I saw the reviews and though we should try it. The first thing is how brightly lit the restaurant space is and lots of brown furniture - reminded me of an old Cobb & Co. <br/><br/>This is basically steak, chicken or ribs with sides and sauces you pay for. The steaks are expensive and the cost mounts up with the sides etc.<br/><br/>The steaks were okay but nothing great. The service was friendly and efficient.<br/><br/>So pretty average but expensive. I don’t think we will be back.

Went here for my partners birthday and it was amazing! Definitely worth the price you’re paying 😋 I recommend the nice and spicy BBQ sauce and the creamed spinach is a musttt! Will definitely be back soon

The Beiziudenhout family serves up a good feed in their Serengeti themed restaurant - tender meats swimming in the most delicious sauces, the best creamed spinach, divine desserts... bookings are essential, don’t say I didn’t warn you ;)

Came here as a group. Some people got started with entrees. My husband got the BBQ chicken wings. I tried one they were very nice. I also tried one of his ribs that he had for main, they we're delicious too. For main I had sirloin with pepper sauce and a baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potato and sour cream we're very generous. It's a bit of a rip off that it only comes with one side though and you have to pay for any extra. The peppercorn sauce was ok. The food also took a very long time to come out despite there not being many tables full.

Went last night, a Sunday. The owners were not on duty but we still received fantastic service and food. We were in a family group and all our meals were delicious. We are have been going to this restaurant for a few years and it is great that the food, service and atmosphere just gets better.

A-MAY-ZING!! Went to Bushmans Grill last night with my work mates. There was 9 of us in total. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We got our food super quick which was awesome! Food here is DELICIOUS! We would make the trip from west Auckland on the regular for this food. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend the ribs, calamari and creamy spinach.

We had been before and really enjoyed the vibe, but sadly we thought it was lacking this time, when we arrived we were greeted by a lady who looked scruffy, baggy t shirt, scruffy jeans, and sneakers no effort to make her appearance tidy, seemed that she showed no pride in the way she was dressed, especially as a person who is front of house, over all, unprofessional  the greeting staff and bar staff dressed what ever way they want, but come on, a shirt and tie, and nice outfits, looks smart, when the young man took our order, he seemed not to understand what i meant and i had to point out what i wanted, an orange juice, the food was great, no complaints there, the staff were polite, but one was chewing gum, and it just looked a bit tacky, sadly we would think twice before going back, Ida & Chris Flint

I booked for my husbands birthday we were seated promptly and attended to in a prompt manner, we have been to bushmans grill quite often but this time my husbands steak was so chewy and it was so full of sinew that more then half had to be thrown away we were really disappointed... there was no discount offered only were told that sorry it’s proberly a bad cut but they will check with their supplier. Due to this result we will never be back.

One of the best steak house out there. The steak is always upto the mark and always hit my expectation level. The meat is always tender and juicy and the best part is the mushroom sauce you can’t miss that.

Loved it! I under estimated their steaks but wow they're good! Had their ribs, steak and peri peri chicken. The ribs were Meh. The steak was just amazing! Great flame grilled flavours. Their peri peri chicken was also delicious, they use house made peri peri sauce which had a nice zing! Quite happy with this restaurant and would totally recommend!

Always loved this place because of their food and the size of the serving. Always full of flavour, meat is tender and cooked to perfection. The price range is just right for the size of the serving. The place gets packed especially on weekends so I always book early. Have been telling my friends about this place and they think it’s also really good.

Waitresses were absolutely lovely and the food was amaaaaazing! The ribs just fell off the bone with ease and the steak, complimented with their range of sauces were quite a wonderful marriage of flavours. Starters were also a treat. First time tonight with my husband & we thoroughly enjoyed it. I guess Monday night's are not as busy & so our meals were served in a flash & the waitress was very pleasant. For Starter, the Pizza Bread (Yum) Both mains were Rib & Steak Combos with Spinach cream & side orders were mushroom cream sauce & large fries. Cooked to our requirements & everything tasted so Delicious! Large servings aswell. Overall 5 Stars...We will definitely be coming back.<br/>

We went to this place for a Friday office lunch and the place was really good. Not too crowded and customer service was beyond expectations. All though they don't take pre orders but they did accommodate the order and served on time. Now coming to the quality and taste of the food. Everything was perfect. I ordered peri peri chicken and calamari combo. Calamari was out of the world. Chicken was also delicious and succulent. My other colleagues ordered steak and that was also good. Over all I will give 5 star for the place. Although towards a pricier side. I didn't mind as it was a treat 😄

Something new for a change. I love the different flavours here. The South African dessert “Malva Pudding” keeps me wanting more 😍 Its a nice place to catch up with love ones 😊

So savoury and delicious. If you ever pop in, it is a staple that you must start with the blooming onion. It’s absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the burgers and I can always praise the fact that you can choose your own seasoning and sauce, it’s awesome that you can tailor it to your preferences. Beef was flawless and chicken was juicy.

Came here (from out west) with the bf to try it out last night. Everything was pretty good! We were seated promptly, staff was friendly and very well organised, food was really nice too. I got a chicken burger and my bf got a steak and chicken combo. The chips were amazingly crispy even though they were thick cut, my burger was so big and the chicken was really juicy, and my bf’s steak was perfectly cooked and his chicken was nice and spicy. I really enjoyed the food. Also, It’s seems like a really great place to take your family, very kid friendly with a kids area with toys and games. I wouldn’t mind coming here again next time I’m on the north shore😊

Good decent family restaurant that had never let me down ! Best bbq place around the suburbs with delicious sides & sauces and okay dessert menu but normally we eat here and go elsewhere for dessert tho and the bar is right next to it so good for a adventurous night on the weekend on the shore lol

Came here based on other reviews about fabulous ribs and service, and took hubby as a surprise dinner. Our server was very helpful and polite but the food was lacking. Had the calamari to start, greasy and obviously frozen from packet. Main wasn’t much better, ribs were only just above average in quality and flavour and the chips were greasy and again frozen out of a packet.

Even though the restaurant was packed, and the service a little slow, it was well worth it. The staff are friendly and personable, and the food was excellent. We ordered the T Bone (perfectly cooked, chips were great, mushroom sauce, yum) and eye-fillet with Madagascan pepper sauce/cream spinach - delicious and cooked exactly to order. The waitress overheard that it was one of our party's birthday, and without being asked, they sang him happy birthday (and put a sparkler in his don pedro!). Now, that's the type of initiative you will not see in other 'local' restaurants. The cream soda floats were straight out of memory lane.<br/>Well worth a visit, great food, ambiance and really engaged staff, even when busy - will definitely go again.

I've eaten ribs from most parts of Sydney and Melbourne, the ribs I had at Bushman's Grill are the best I've come across. So tender they were a step away from melting from melting in my mouth. I ain't lying the best ribs I've had in the Southern Hemisphere and the blooming onion was second to none. A M A Z I N G! Atmosphere’s great, food’s even better. Had the calamari and steak combo and it was great. My boyfriend had steak and ribs combo and the ribs’ flavour was outstanding! I’m usually picky with my chips but these were fried to perfection! Not to mention their garlic lover sauce was saaaaauceeeeé! Definitely going back to this place!

We ordered two combinations, steak and ribs, calamari and peri peri chicken. The calamari was soggy. The batter was all soft oily. Not crispy at all. The peri peri chicken is too spicy. The side of steak was chips. Chips was also soft and oily, not crispy. Steak and ribs were ok. 😕how come the rate is over 4?

We had our anniversary celebrating here. Brilliant customer service that all staffs were very welcoming. The portion of the food was great and very tasty. Would visit here again.

Such a lovely place.. loved the ambiance plus they have a kids area. Well rounded place. The chicken I ordered was delish and their sauces are to die for with such perfect blends of flavors. My partner got ribs which was a delight with creamed spinach that was so delicious we ordered another one.<br/>He ordered an extremely hot cappuccino which came out warm so told the person who was looking after us and got him a super hot one.<br/>We cannot wait to come back and try more on the menu.<br/>Thank you

This is such a late post. We dined at Bushmans Grill about a month ago. Table of 10 and from the time we arrived, prompt friendly service. There was always someone passing by making sure we were okay and if we needed anything. We thought we would be waiting for a while with our meals being such a large group but we were pleased we didn't have to wait long at all. The food was deliciously cooked. Kids raved about their ribs, first time tasting snails and also the portion size was enough to feed 2 people with one combo dish. Deep Fried onion mmmmm. Thank you and will definitely be visiting again. Lovely friendly family atmosphere.

The food was cooked to perfection. The creamed spinach and chicken was presented well and the flavours were tasted in every bite. The menu has a good selection of South African beverages.

First time to dine tonight but unfortunately our food arrived 40mins later. Understandably they said there was a big group who ordered just before us. 3 people came to us and to tell us our order will be late. Would appreciate an appetizer or something to help pass as a consideration but nothing. Probably this is a one off event though but it has put me off from coming back tonight. (6/5/18)

This is your one stop steak shop. Easily the best rump steak I have ever had. Friendly and hardworking staff always make you feel attended too even while busy.<br/>If you like birthdays come any night and celebrate with another 5-10 people as this is a very popular location for such mile stones.

Amazing!!! Very tasty we started with crumbs mushrooms and they were actually mushrooms juicy fresh bit into them and they didn’t dissolve away they were massive came with a yummy topping of bacon and some sort of melted cheese, we had garlic prawns some onion flower thing garlic bread this was entrees and just sooo yummy.. our mains OMG.. massive meals table had ribs chicken steak and everything was cooked perfect tasty again.. great place to take kids as well there is a kids area with Xbox to keep kids entertained and toys for younger kids.. waitresses were lovely very hospitable just a great feel to the place.. definitely be back.. thank you

Always passed Bushman’s Grill in Hillcrest and finally got a chance to visit for a friends birthday dinner. I ordered the flame grilled chicken burger with lemon and herb sauce. The burger was so fresh and juicy and the chips were very crispy. $20 was a little steep for the meal however the burger is massive and the chips were also large and took up half the plate as well. We were on the shore at the time and seeing some great reviews of this place here, we thought we would try it.<br/><br/>Ambience is nice enough for a steak house, a bit dated but not bad. I liked the pop music they were playing, it probably isn't everyone's cup of tea but I liked it. We were seated under a fan, which I liked since I felt quite hot but the trade off is that our food cooled off as soon as we got it.<br/>Service was pretty good, is was just initially when we sat down we were waiting a few mins for the menus, you would think they would be on the table or the person that showed us our table would just give them then? The waiter that was looking after us (I think he might of been the head waiter), was really fun, friendly and helpful. <br/><br/>We had the ultimate onion, sauteed mushrooms and steak & chicken combo with fries and peri peri on the chicken. Steak & calamari with creamed spinach and mushroom/cheese sauce. It all came out in good time, which I didn't expect and everything was pretty good. Our favourite being the ultimate onion and the calamari, the batter was just perfectly spiced and crisp, really reminiscent of KFC. Steaks were perfectly cooked medium but were a bit lacking in flavour for me and the cheese/mushroom was delicious but the colour wasn't appetizing (I know that's just the way it goes with mushroom sauces). Everything else was nice and great as a whole meal.<br/><br/>Will be back when we're out that way again.

We love this restaurant! We love their ribs and the chicken garlic pizza. Service is awesome very friendly staff. Love how the staff would come to you and ask how’s everything? Great tasting food and fantastic service. What else could you ask for?

Calamari and wings 👌👅 <br/>The ribs were great ! meat was so tender and easy to eat. Not a fan of the chargrilled taste to it but that’s my preference. Friendliest and most attentive staff . Otherwise you definitely get what you pay for !! Highly recommend trying the calamari and wings

First-time dining in with my partner for my birthday, we were quite excited to try out a new grill place as we’ve not been able to find anything we like. <br/><br/>FOOD & SERVICE<br/><br/>To start off, we had a reservation so we were on-time and seated immediately - we were then waited within a couple of minutes and able to order our starters - our drinks and food came quite promptly we didn’t have to wait too long. <br/><br/>We ordered calamari and pizza bread - which the waitress initially forgot to include but when reminded she promptly got it sorted for us and the owner manager came over to apologise on her behalf and was very helpful - we ordered another drink because of it. <br/><br/>I ordered a Ribs & Steak combo with mushroom and cheddar cheese sauce - the ribs were the best i’ve had for a long time. beautifully succulent and falling off the bone - quite messy but very tasty - finger licking good sauce. The steak i had was Medium well - which is probably just a hair off my perfect choice as parts were a little chewy for me. <br/><br/>My partner ordered Cheddarmelt Chicken Schnitzel - i tried some and it had the same / similar sauce i chose for my steak which was beautiful. <br/><br/>VENUE<br/>it’s quite a nice place very big there is a separate area before the toilet area which looks to be used for either functions and or entertaining children (there’s a little play area). <br/><br/>SEATING<br/>Because there was only two of us we had limited seating options, and being quite a warm evening this made it a little annoying as most of the other tables were either for 4 or a bigger group. <br/><br/>I was sat near the entry which was halfway between an adjoining board which would wobble every time<br/>someone would walk past. <br/><br/>CUSTOMER SERVICE<br/>The wait staff we had were all quite good, professional, friendly and quick. The owner/manager on duty was very kind to us and made us feel comfortable and welcome to come back again. <br/><br/>Our eyes were too big and we never finished our food so we need some takeaway containers. The waitress helped us pack the food away which we are usually used to just being given containers and them walking away - so we were very appreciative. <br/><br/>OVERALL<br/>We enjoyed ourselves, the food and the service and even though it’s not local to us in South Auckland - we would happily refer anyone else here to try the food out and will come back another time to try more food.<br/><br/>What stood out for me was all of the little things that other restaurants sometimes neglect - speedy service, knowing when to ask if we need more food or drink, how they make you feel, etc. It’s the little-things for me that always stand-out - and of course the taste and flavours of the food is just a bonus.

African heaven on earth! The food is beyond amazing and the owners are absolutely lovely! Would recommend to anyone with taste buds! My favourite place to eat for every occasion

Came here for a dinner with a group of 10. I think its one of the best steak/grill places around. The food was amazing and such good value. We had the calamari and ribs combo and the tbone steak. The calamari was so delicious and the sauce that came with it was yummm! The only thing I could suggest is to get it crunchier. The ribs were beautiful and tender and there was so much of it as per the photo! I felt this meal was really good value. The steak had a beautiful charred flavour. But since Im not much of a steak fan I probably personally wouldnt pay for this cut. But everyone who ordered the tbone was very pleased. We also got a sauce for $3 but it was worth it. There was enough for 2 steaks. The staff were also great, constantly checking on our meals but there were definitely no complaints. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered snails, onion bloom, sirloin steak and chicken schitzel. The steak was amazing!!! Best steak ive ever had. Had the right amount of seasoning. Had a little bit of a crisp on the outside and perfectly cooked to my liking! It was everything i wanted when i order a steak. The side of chips was good too, thick chips which were crunchy but still soft and not dry on the inside. The chicken was also cooked really well! Soft and tender. Not overcooked! Or dry. Still really juicy. I couldnt taste much of the snails, i think they just tasted like shellfish but the cheese was nice. Maybe a little too much cheese. The onion was a little disappointing. There was still uncooked batter in the middle and the onion wasnt cooked enough which gave it a sharp kind of spiciness taste to it. Next time i would request them to cook it for longer. Other than that! I will be back very soon 😂😁 <br/><br/>Update: reordered onion to be cooked longer. AH-MAZING. ive moved to Australia but every time i return home. This is the first place i go to no doubt. FAVOURITE PLACE EVER. love you guys ❤

First time to try this resto and we left with no regrets. Food was great especially the ribs and chicken. The amount of serving was decent and generous. My only comment was they served us with a bit raw of their ultimate onion and when they changed it, it became too oily. But nevertheless, ribs and chicken made up for it!

I love this place because the food is homey and reminds me of my mother's cooking. Flavorful and generous. I ordered medium rump with cheese and mushroom sauce and creamy spinach. I left nothing behind and I have no complaints. The spinach was creamy and cheesy and the sauce was so good I mopped everything up with my partners fries. He ordered the squid and ribs so we got to taste a bit of everything with our meals. The fries were really crispy and chunky and came with the best aioli sauce. My only concern about ambience would be that it's too loud but that only goes to show how busy they were! It was definitely a happy atmosphere and I was more focused on my food and my date haha. We didn't order desert but we had Lemon Lime and Bitters which was tasty and came in a huge glass! The service was very friendly, the woman at the door who I believe may have been the owner was so warm and welcoming, really important for a host to be. We've been to so many places where the hosts are stressed and barely make conversation with you but she really made the effort despite how busy it was. I'd love to go back and try the chicken :-)

Cosy lil restaurant so I strongly recommend you book in and ask to sit on table 5 if it just for 2 people because it's a great seat away from any interference from the waiters etc.<br/><br/>Parking : they literally have limited parking at the front of the food joint however there's alot of parking next to the Ponamu Hotel even better it's free and no time limit after 6pm :) just a 2 minute walk from the restaurant.<br/><br/>The staff were all very friendly and attentive. They had a very welcoming feel in there restaurant.<br/><br/>I know this is random but my pet peeve when I dine out normally would be if we order steak or anything meaty and they don't have the right utensils to use.. but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY THEY HAVE LEGIT STEAK KNIVES HERE lol<br/><br/>With the mains and combos they give you a free side to choose from<br/><br/>For starters we got:<br/>Garlic prawns<br/>Calamari<br/><br/>Mains: we got 2 combos<br/>My combo:<br/>Rump Steak (medium) and chicken (lemon herb) combo<br/>Free side dish: steak chips<br/>Add ons: Mushroom sauce<br/>1 x sunny side egg<br/><br/>Hubbys combo: Kai Mai<br/>Sirloin steak (medium) + ribs(sweet & smokey) combo<br/>Free side: Steak Chips<br/><br/>We had quite abit of leftovers so they took everything and packed it away in takeaway bowls for us to take.<br/><br/>If I had to find something to fault it would be to say that the starters were not as big in quantity for the dollar value but the taste and quality was exceptional.<br/>Also maybe offer to have juice/fizzy&Water in jugs other then that it was a lovely night<br/><br/>If I am to drive out north shore anytime I will def. Went there for the 1st time after reading all the good reviews. They do have, hands down, finger licking good ribs!  The service was attentive and friendly.  We had pizza bread, calamari and crispy onion as entrees.  We were all happy with the flavour of our food.  The only downside is that the onion was quite pricey.  $18 for a deep fried onion!  <br/>Overall verdict: a great place to go if you love ribs!!!

Went for lunch just now. Parking tips: a joint car park at the back of burger king, lack of access to the permis from the back but can traverse across TAB lol.<br/><br/>Food is abosutely amazing and worthwhile, not just the size of plate. Periperi chicken and sweet & smoking ribs combo 36 & calamari 15, enough for two of us regularly go to gym these days. If you substitute salad with chips as sides could be filling.<br/><br/>Chicken is tender, and you can taste periperi sauce sort from inside out not just on exterior skin. Ribs like everyone said is falling apart, sure they marinated well before grilling.<br/><br/>Ambiance is all right does not appear to be one of those hyped cool eatery but definitely a place for family to chill out for a good time.<br/><br/>The first waiter seemed bit unapproachable, but the lady was super nice and dropped by checking on us couple time.<br/><br/>Overall, definitely will go back to try other items on menu.<br/>

My apologies this is a bit delayed. I live very close to this restaurant and I've never eaten at this restaurant.<br/>I had my fourth of July celebration here and I must say these are the best ribs I've found in Auckland. I know of another place which comes very close as well and I've tried many other restaurants around NZ. However, everything from the tenderness of the ribs, to the very smoky taste, to the two types of sauces made this feel like ribs back home in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. I had about 7 other people with me and they also had ribs, the appetizers (onion and the calamari) and the steak and we all will be back. Thanks for investing in quality smoked ribs which are hard to find in NZ (sometimes). Also the service was really great as well.

The ribs are excellent here. Can choose from bbq or spicy sauce, I had the bbq which was not spicy at all, unlike most places that make the sauce too spicy. The meat just falls off the bone, and the portion sizes are decent too. A family member had the steak, which they recommended. Prices are reasonable and didn't have to wait long for the food.

The ribs here are awesome, delicious and tender, the price is right and the service is good, ample parking. Recommended, will definitely return.

Atmosphere is great, food is fantastic and service efficient. It's a local for our work functions and wouldn't have it any other way. Fav dish is the creamed spinach on steak w chips and a runny egg Yum Yum!

This is a family favourite :) the best ribs around. Great combos, Ribs and squid is my go to meal. The squid is soft and succulent. I also get the hot artichoke and spinach dip for starters.

It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. The mushroom soup is smooth and well balance with the cream. Both starters came with the side of multigrain toast and butter. <br/><br/>For mains we had chicken and steak combo with madagascan sauce and salad on the sides. We also ordered the ribs in half size. The chicken is in peri peri sauce which is palatable. It gives a kick for its spice which makes it more yummy. Steak was medium rare and cooked very well although it needs more seasoning for my liking even I already dip it with its sauce. I have had better steak. <br/><br/>The half ribs. Nothing to complain with its meat. It is soft juicy and melts in your mouth. The only downside is the sauce. Its a bit sweet for me. I understand they do all their sauces so my expectation is high enough for the dish. At first bite it plays all the flavour. But since its a huge part eventually you get the sweetness of the bbq sauce overload. A little bit of balance will make the dish full blown for me. <br/><br/>Overall we had good food. Nice ambiance. The price is alright since they serve it in huge sizes. One main can be shared so it will be a plus for groups. Parking is tricky. 😬

Absolutely love their pork ribs! We ordered pizza breas, the snails, pork ribs& chicken combo, chicken burger, and steak. The burger was huge! No one complained about the portion. The smokey bbq sauce on the pork ribs were so good!! And the chicken! I also had chocolate mousse with ice cream and it had just enough sweetness to ease the hot peri peri sauce on the chicken. Loved the food overall, and the staffs were ever friendly. Would definitely come back to try more!

What an amazing place! The food was incredible. The service was impeccable. And the staff were so friendly. I would highly recommend this place if you are not much of a veggie water.

Been here multiple times - always consistent - yummy food, friendly and helpful staff. No complaints!! The area out the back with BBQ tables (indoors) can be a bit of a hidden gem, especially if it's busy and loud in the main part of the restaurant.

If you're looking for a great steak on the shore go no further, do not pass go and you shall not pass. This is your one stop steak shop. their service is polite and efficient, their food is fresh and delicious the restaurant is homely and comfortable.Bar 1 time I have been here the steak has been perfect on that 1 time it was good, their seasoning and cooking makes me feel ashamed of all my own misfortunate steaks that have graced my pan.I look forward to many more meals in this Church of charred cow.

Amazing food, so flavourful , the ambience is amazing. I have no complaints if you want to pay your money's worth this is the place to be . Spicy, when I mean flavour it's a lot of flavour in their food probably one of the best places Iv been and the service is awesome. No complaints will definitely be back .

Ambience was great. The combo was awesome. What stood up is the Combo choices. I always have Steak and Ribs. Our group loves to drink water between meals and the staff never seemed annoyed. 4.0 as would have to pay for sauce. The prices of food are pricey. And the steak actually is only a bit more than mediocre, i have had better, but the sauce is what lifts it up to great! The steaks wouldve been mindblowing if the customers didnt have to pay for sauce so first timers could taste the full potential of their served meals.

Dined here on Friday 3rd for eldest sons Birthday his choosing of course, when asked why he said he loves the portions of meat you get. The portions were of everyones satisfaction! Seven of us and not a dissatisfied member at our table. Steaks cooked to perfection, Ribs meaty, Chicken flavoursome and sauces Delish! Service was spot on the only long await was family members to arrive lol, Deirdre the front of house supervisor has a 10/10 customer service very lovely and easy to talk with, also to our waiter very calm and understanding of elderly members too sorry can't remember name but well done! Awesome service and kai. Recommend this place to most but if not big eaters then perhaps this is not for you.

The food is amazing! The meals are large and very tasty! The service was friendly and the food came out fast, I am definitely going there again :)

Be prepared not to eat all day to fit in the meals here! They are huge but still pretty tasty. When I went I had to try the rib & chicken combo. The chicken was nice, but the ribs weren't as flavourful as I had hoped. Even though I couldn't finish my main, I had to have the peppermint tart for dessert. I was too hard to say no... Very friendly service from the staff. Would recommended for families or if you have a large appetite and want to be fill to the max.

Dined here with my partner tonight, we thought being a Wednesday night we would just pop in without making reservations, it seemed however lucky that we got a table, the place was packed! I would recommend reserving a table to avoid disappointment. My first impression was a little underwhelming the decor was a little dated and there was a lack of ambience. The staff were friendly enough & the service was prompt, especially considering how busy they were. The menu is jam packed with yummy options, we had to take our sweet time deciding what we wanted to order. I went with an eye fillet in the end with creamed spinach as a side, my partner had the ribs and steak combo with chips. The steak was honestly one of the best I had ever tasted. It was a decent portion for an eye fillet, cooked too perfection medium rare with the most amazing flavoursome seasoning. I am usually all about my steak sauce but this piece of meat was perfect all on its own. If your after a fancy or romantic restaurant this probably isn't the place for you, but if your after an excellent steak in a casual relaxed environment I definitely recommend Bushmans.

Bushman's Grill offers a variety of mouthwatering South African dishes, and has a remarkable service.<br/><br/>We ordered scotch fillet with blue cheese sauce medium rear was perfectly cooked! Juicy and goes well with the sauce. <br/><br/>Our Peri-Peri Chicken was amazing, and the Peri-Peri Chips are very well seasoned. Just can't stop eating them. <br/><br/>The ribs are delicious, but could be slightly better...slightly tender would be awesome.<br/><br/>Overall we had a great evening and the birthday boy even received a Sundae on the house. Thanks so much.<br/><br/>P/S: Very thoughtful of them to provide a container of water with lemon for each person.<br/>P/S/S: Their sauces by the bottles are also for sale. Yum, yum.

We were going to order lunch from this place today. They do not have Vegetarian Pizza but they have advertised it on their website, never going to order from this place. Its a waste of time so PISSED OFF. <br/>Check out the reply from them so Pathetic customer service SERIOUSLY

We met friends for dinner at the Bushman's Grill during the week. They had been there before but this was our first visit, and certainly will not be our last. We ordered the lemon calamari and the blooming onion as entrees for sharing. The calamari was deliciously tender, and the onion enormous, tasty, and very moreish. For mains two of us went for the cheddar melt chicken schnitzel, one for the sirloin steak, and the other for the half rack and rump steak combo. The chicken was succulent and delicious, and accompanied by excellent chips and a creamy mushroom sauce. The ribs and rump steak combo was a very generous serving, accompanied by the choice of spicy rice and a delicious blue cheese sauce. Both steak dishes were cooked perfectly as ordered, and the sirloin with chips was declared most satisfactory. Overall, based on service, taste, meal size, and value for money, this is an extremely good place to go for a meal - especially if you like meat and are hungry. And we must confess we took home "doggy bags" - that onion was just too good to leave behind!

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. I had the chicken wings with smoky BBQ sauce and my partner had the steak and ribs combo. The chicken wings were yum but the sauce was a little overpowering for my liking, luckily they have two options for sauce :). My partner enjoyed his meal, decent proportion for $40. It was a good place overall.

Absolutely amazing dinner experience. This was our first time here and did not disappoint. The food was so tasty and a very generous helping. Dessert great as well. It was our Aunts birthday and the staff came out and sang Happy Birthday. It made her night. Waitress was really onto it as well. Will definitely be back with friends and family.

Very delicious food! I have been there a few times and the staff have always been attentive. Service is excellent we got our food very quickly. The servings are huge and are worth the price. The ultimate onion as an entree is amazing and the Malva pudding is a must! Will definitely be back :)

WOW!! OK so it was just a typical crisp autumn Friday the sun was out and the birds were chirping when my stomach began to rumble, I was craving a meal, I had to Pull over but I didn't want just any meal, I wanted flavor and and an enjoyable atmosphere to graze in, and thankfully to my right I spotted Bushman's Grill, Yes Bushman's Grill ! To those who have been here before you are probably eating at Bushman's right now, Because everybody knows once you try their food there really is no other food you would want to try. As I walked through the doors I was greeted by very friendly faces and I instantly felt at home I took a seat and ordered their chicken burger, and I tell you this was no ordinary burger it<br/>was very fairly priced however the quality, the flavor and the presentation was nothing short of 6 star quality, superb infact. The atmosphere was warm and I can't wait to bring a group of friends in to enjoy the food the beer and the fun atmosphere that these guys provide ( they even have an Xbox kinect game room perfect for kids or adults who still think they are kids)

Abit of a wait for our entré. overall the food was nice and cooked well. Big meals, was full as a bull after. I ordered chicken with cheese and creamed mushrooms, that was yum. But next time i will deff be getting the steak.

A long drive over the shore from where I live but totally worth it. Where do I start? The combos are my favourite, I normally get the steak and chicken combo with a side of creamed spinach. Such a good value for money! Everyone I take here is blown away by how amazing and flavourful the food is. All the steaks are seasoned well and cooked to your liking and the sauces are amazing. If you get the pepper expect 47 kinds of pepper in your sauce and if you get the garlic lovers then expect every form of garlic you can (think fresh garlic with garlic powder in garlic oil with garlic salt) a bit overwhelming but not for the faint hearted. I'd also recommend the blooming onion and snails with cheese and garlic as starters. And you'll probably be full by the time you get to dessert but you can't leave without trying the malva pudding (I'm normally stuffed by then so I'll get it as a takeway) and ask for cream AND custard if you can. Service is good and waiting time is not that long. Atmosphere is African savannah themed and family friendly. Parking can be a bit of a problem if you're not there early enough.

This is the kind of food that I like, when you have value for money that really worth. I went with my partner for dinner on Friday night, all the staff were very friendly and nice. As starters ordered an onion that is kind of battered with a very nice sauce, and an artichoke and spinach dip which was my favourite one! Our main was a combo of rump and ribs both of them beautifully cooked, I don't have any complaint, even the sauce was really good, the portions are more than perfect. I'm pretty sure I'll go back and try more.

The best dinner I've had in a long time! Mushroom soup was BEAUTIFUL for an entree and I had the combo steak and calamari for mains. Totally worth the spend - and even the spend isn't that bad! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, can't wait to go here again.

I've been here countless times! Only tried Steak as its halal. Always had a great experience. Food is fast and perfect! Awesome service... We've had different waitresses and they are all so friendly! Birthdays are a treat... Esp with their birthday cheer!

Went here recently and had a really great meal. The food was delicious and I loved the calamari. The best thing about them though was the service. Our waitress was so lovely and friendly! The manager who greeted us was warm and welcoming and service was swift. Very child friendly too, we are definitely coming back!

One of the best places for some juicy ribs! Went in for Tuesday's rib special and it was worth the drive. The ribs were tender and had a tasty sauce all over it. The chips were seasoned beautifully and it definitely satisfied my rib cravings. The restaurant wasn't too full as we went in for an early dinner but staff were very welcoming. The waitress was polite and ensured that we were happy with everything. Second time here and it seems to have no faults. Would recommend to anyone, would be great for a family dinner as they have kids menu and they also supplied kids activities (from what I observed).

Basically, I think if you go in without having heard anything about it, you're mostly going to enjoy your experience - if you listen to the tales of huge portions, you're going to come out hungry and very disappointed. <br/>I'll start with the quality of the meat first, cause that was one area where BG certainly lived up to their rep. The Wild Wings are hands down the best "chicken wings" I've had in Auckland. The sweet & smokey sauce was absolutely divine - I simply haven't come across anything like them anywhere else. The steak itself was also a standout, rating right up there with the best steaks in Auckland. Unfortunately the ribs didn't quite live up to standards the other dishes set though. The sauce was certainly smokey, but that was about it - I just couldn't taste anything else. I didn't even bother dipping the fries in the sauce, which is usually my habit with ribs and chips.<br/>However, the size of the portions was just not up to my expectations - especially for a place that carries a reputation for providing huge feeds. I mean, I was aware that BG is a bit more expensive than some of their counterparts, so I assumed that came down to serving up bigger portions. Sadly, this is not the case. I had a feeling that the dishes at BG didn't even match up to their counterparts at rival establishments, so I did some research when I got home (just to show it's not just me being subjective). At BG, the 300g Rump Steak cost us $30 - at two similar establishments who also offer Angus steak (I made sure to choose restaurants of the same quality), you can get 500g for $29 or even a whopping 900g for $40. Regards to the ribs, BGs cost us $32 for 750g. It's worth noting too that the special listed on Zomato or BG's website is inaccurate - the $32 special on ribs is for 750g, not a full rack (1kg). Two similar establishments will give you a full rack (1kg) for $30 or even $24 (and that's their usual price - not a special). Even the size of the Wild Wings was somewhat disappointing, consisting of 7x chicken nibbles (we included the photo). I feel bad saying it, but the facts contradict the hype - BGs simply doesn't hold up to its rivals when it comes to doing "huge" portions, especially when it is significantly more expensive to boot.<br/>I should point out too that the service was great - our waitress was incredibly friendly and conversational, with the foresight to bring us bowls of water (to rinse our fingers) with no prompting at all. All-in-all, yes - the chicken nibbles and steak was among the best you'll find in Auckland, but if you're looking for large portions, you're barking up the wrong tree. BGs is a very good restaurant, but I don't think we'd return, if only for the fact that they simply aren't good value when compared to so many of their rivals. <br/><br/>Little tummy: Ironically, this place proved to be perfect for me - which is kind of a good and bad thing, I guess. I was worried about the portion sizes, as I don't usually eat too much and Bushman's Grill has a reputation for leaving their customers full and satisfied. Luckily for me, the portions weren't quite what we expected. I was easily able to get through my steak and even managed to snag a few of my boyfriend's wings. The chicken nibbles were easily the standout of the night. Beautifully cooked and the accompanying sauce was just magic. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked as well. The ribs were a little bit disappointing - a very mild sweetness, with overpowering smokiness. I don't think we'd order those again. Like I said before, the portions were a lot smaller than we expected, which suited me, but wasn't exactly good value for my poor boyfriend (I even caught him raiding the pantry when we got home). Amazing food, but certainly not the best value - I'm glad we came here, but I think it's more of a one-off visit as there are just too many other good steakhouses to go to.

Excellent place to go and eat. I've had numerous meals here for dates and family gatherings, recommend them to everyone! perfect sized portions and efficient staff members, very attentive. Absolutely no fault to  be found with them! Love love love them!!

We turned up just before they opened, but the friendly waitress was happy to seat us anyway. Service was quick and friendly, and the staff checked through the meal to see if everything was ok, or if we needed anything. Impressive.<br/><br/>We ordered two of the tenderloin steaks and were very impressed. The meat was tender and tasty and both the sauces (mushroom and pepper) were very nice indeed. Probably the best steak we've had in the three years we've been in New Zealand.<br/><br/>The drinks choice was a little limited. A better choice of beers wuld be nice (i.e some nice craft beers), but they did have Tuatara Pilsner, so it wasn't too bad.<br/><br/>Overall a very nice place, with excellent food and nice staff. Would highly recommend.

Came here a while ago and really enjoyed our meals.  I do love a good steak so was not disappointed.  Good sized meals and left very satisfied.

I really cannot fault this place! We got the onion starter as our entree which was yum and a bit different for a starter, the sauce was so good! The service was so so fast we got there at 6 and Left just after 7 and were in no hurry at all! Our mains were delish as well, the mushroom sauce was good although slightly thick. My partners steak was so deliciously seasoned, his ribs were a little sweet for me but still yum and my chicken was amazing too! All in all I really can't fault the place! Recommend any big eater to go here, you won't be disappointed! Often we go out and won't be full after our meal so it's nice to find somewhere that does the trick!

Finally visited Bushman's grill last night and was not disappointed! <br/>Right away the staff were super friendly and attentive which made us all feel right at home. <br/>I ordered the steak and calamari combo, while my friends got the chicken schnitzel, half lemon and herb chicken, and calamari and chicken combo and a garlic bread to start. <br/>The bread came fast as was absolutely delicious. The food followed not long after and we were all blown away by the portion sizes and flavour. My steak was cooked perfectly and calamari delicious - everyone else was equally as happy! <br/>Though its quite a journey from where I live I intend to visit again soon!

Came here on Saturday evening and absolutely loved the place with it's african theme. The staff were very friendly, all of them were very helpful. I had the Sirloin 250g steak with mushroom and cheese sauce with chips on the side-absolutely loved it!! We only got there at 5.50pm even though we were booked at 6pm and our order came out within 15mins or less-it was so fast!! So definitely pleased with the waiting time. <br/><br/>Then I ordered the chocolate mousse whereas my friend ordered the waffles for dessert. So yummy and delicious! Parking was a bonus too-free and heaps of space. Will def recommend this place to friends.

On our way back from a trip up north, we decided to pop into this place because we felt like ribs.<br/><br/>We were not disappointed.  The ribs here were delicious - smoky, tender and full of flavour.  Next time I have a craving for ribs, I'll be sorely tempted to make the trip across the bridge.  It would be better if they came with more than one side though.<br/><br/>I also enjoyed the buffalo wings as they were crispy and tasty - the only thing is that I didn't think they were very spicy.<br/><br/>This place is pretty casual in terms of decor.  Our waiter was friendly and efficient and we didn't have to wait long for the food.  It was good a to see a children's area for little ones to play in too.  We did find the parking situation a bit bewildering before realising that people were parking in the car park which was a small walk away.<br/><br/>Overall, a good experience that I would be happy to repeat.

Just Average. Been here before and the food was great. Perhaps just an off day? Sinewy steak, wet calamari and abrasive service. Waitress spilled a milkshake in my calamari said sorry and just carried on as if nothing happened. Dissapointing for the price paid.

I have heard great things about this restaurant so I was very excited and I was not let down! <br/><br/>The menu has lots of great meat dishes to choose from. I really enjoyed the ultimate onion and calamari starters, the onion was simply delicious and the calamari had an amazing coating unlike anything I had ever tried before.<br/><br/>My favorite main of the night had to have been the steak followed closely by the lemon and herb chicken. The steak was beautifully seasoned and cooked with garlic, it was so juicy and with the garlic sauce was just amazing. The lemon and herb chicken was also very nicely seasoned and moist, not like any other lemon and herb I had tasted, it was slightly sweet and tangy that accompanied the chicken very well. <br/><br/>I had heard many great things about the ribs, however, personally I don't like smokey flavors and the smokiness was very intense, as well as an overly sweet sauce for me personally, however the chips were very tasty as they has some sort of seasoning on them. <br/><br/>Service was really great, with a nice warm family feel. Only downside was limited parking! Would recommend

Went here with Zomato for a foodie meet up and loved both the quality and quantity of the various dishes we were served. My favourite being the baby back pork ribs which was accompanied by the best finger bowl i have ever had. <br/>The genuine, friendly nature of the owners makes a noticeable impact on the feel of the restaurant. You can tell they have invested time to train their staff well. <br/>Would definitely come back for more top quality meat and great service.

I was fortunately enough to be invited to bushmans grill for a zomato meet up. I wish I knew about this place sooner!<br/><br/>The hosts were lovely and so sweet. It's nice to see family owned restaurants among all the franchises nowadays. <br/><br/>The food is all made in the kitchen including the sauces. No pre packed food and you can really taste the difference. <br/><br/>I'm not a huge steak fan in general but the homemade sauces that came with the steak was delicious. I would recommend all three: garlic, mushroom and blue cheese. The blue cheese sauce is awesome. It's not like chunks of cheese but almost whipped cheese. <br/><br/>My favourite dish is definitely their chicken. The chicken came with a choice of peri peri sauce or lemon and herbs. Lemon and herbs is usually a generic bland flavour but you could really taste lemon AND herb on the chicken. The chicken came with beautiful grill marks and a side of spicy rice which was delicious and plump. <br/><br/>A must order is their ultimate onion. A beautiful whole deep fried onion that you pull apart and eat like fries. <br/><br/>I would become a regular customer if I didn't live so far :(

Dined here for a recent Zomato event.<br/> Boy am I impressed!<br/><br/>I will start with the one negative I have, parking. There is no long term parking for Bushman's Grill, we had to ask the staff where to park and we were kindly directed to the parking lot which we thought was for the golf course. If there was signage that the parking lot was for restaurant diners etc that would be greatly appreciated.<br/><br/> That's the only negative I have, I loved dinning here. Great selection on the menu, we were set up with a set menu that included three entrées and three mains. The normal menu however was extensive and would cater to many at very reasonable pricing!<br/>I enjoyed each dish, and was very surprised of the portions that were given! <br/> Entrées! The onion dish was a first for me and it was definitely a dish I'd like to recreate at home, such an interesting dish! The calamari rings were divine, just the way calamari should be prepared! Not rubbery or hard at all, beautifully cooked although for me the batter was rather oily.<br/> The buffalo wings were also delicious, I'm not normally a fan of blue cheese due to its pungency but the blue cheese sauce here had creamy consistency and a gentle blue cheese taste, it went very well with the buffalo wings.<br/>I highly recommend each of these dishes!<br/><br/>Mains! I enjoyed my chicken, i went with a periperi chicken. Beautifully marinated although my piece was a little on the dry side. It was still tasty! I wasn't too fussed about the rice, I didn't end up eating much of it. The ribs. . Woah, definitely one of the best ribs I've had in my dining experience! Beautifully marinated right through to the meat, a combination of smoky and sweet, it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended the ribs!<br/> The steak came with three sauces, I only fancied the garlic sauce that was absolutely hands down the best pairing with the steak 😍 although the steak came out rather rare making it a little bit difficult to chew through it was seasoned very well.<br/><br/> I am impressed with the food, along with the staff. I came in and left with humbling feels. I appreciated the staff's attentiveness especially as there was an elderly couple having a birthday dinner and the whole staff surrounded their table with a sundae and sang happy birthday which the entire restaurant sang along with. Each table was attended too, and it was a good vibe dining at this restaurant.<br/> Thank you to Tammy and Gerard for an amazing meal. I will highly recommend my favourite dishes, the onion, buffalo wings, ribs, and steak with garlic sauce! And definitely be back for more goodness! 😍

If you like punchy, flavourful food and generous portions; Bushman's Grill is a great place to go. Last night I was fortunate enough to be invited for a degusation menu of their finest, with a few other Zomatoers - and we were most definitely spoilt!<br/><br/>** STARTER COURSE **<br/><br/>ULTIMATE ONION: a deep fried onion in "blooming-onion" style. The batter on the onion was crispy, light and flavourful. The sweet chilli sauce it was served with had a nice kick and it was creamy (rather than the gloopy translucent consistancy you'd find in a bottle of supermarket sweet chilli). I have a serious dislike for supermarket sweet chilli, but all of Bushman Grill's sauces are made in store and I would totally purchase these for home if they made them available. Because of the uniqueness of the way it is presented, I think this would have been my favourite dish of the whole night. If you are a fan of onion rings, I would totally recommend this option. <br/>WILD WINGS: NY style buffalo wings, with a thick blue cheese dipping sauce. The skin was crispy and rolled in a spicy, tangy marinade. The cheese sauce balances out the sharpness of the spice, but it's worth notice that the blue cheese has quite a strong presence. This can be a good or a bad thing depending on whether you are/aren't a blue cheese fan. <br/><br/>CALAMARI: fried in a crunchy coating that resembles corn meal. Served with a tartare. Despite the understated name and description on the written menu, this starter is not to be underestimated! Each of the sauces are so different from the last, and this tartare was one of the greatest I've ever had - it just went so well with the calamari. The way the calamari was done made it tender, and the flesh was tasty from being marinated overnight. This was also a strong contender for my favourite dish of our menu.<br/>Further notes:  All three of the entree options came at once for us share. Big servings for starters: exactly how I like it, as I usually come to restaurants hungry and hate tinkering around with one-bite starters. Dishes served in cute cast-iron pans, and served with it's own homemade sauce. As aforementioned, Bushman's Grill make all of their sauces themselves, including the delicious peri peri on every table. Entrees were delightful in every aspect: presentation, texture, flavour, and condiments on the side. <br/><br/>** MAIN COURSE **<br/><br/>FLAME GRILLED CHICKEN: two marinades available - peri peri or lemon herb - both were delicious but if I had to pick, I would probably go with the lemon and herb after trying it. The rice that it comes with is delicious - it was great to see that they put effort into the sides too. It was well-seasoned, savoury, and didn't taste like a bland "filler". <br/>BABY BACK PORK RIBS: uses NZ pork which has been apple wood smoked for 8 hours and flame grilled, then finished with a dark, sweet, sticky sauce. The fries were dusted in spices; I really enjoyed these dipped into the house peri peri. Note that the servings we received (in the pictures) were decreased in size for the purpose of our tasting menu. We oversaw neighbouring tables receiving their meals and were wowed by the size of each serving! I would definitely come back for a meal of these ribs. Finger bowls of WARM lemon water are provided for each person which is great because it saves you from getting up between courses. I also appreciate the availability of having big paper napkins at each table (I'm a messy eater and there's nothing worse than having to wave at your waiter for more while your face, hands and clothes are covered in sauce... My dignity has been lost many times by doing so). <br/>GRASS FED BEEF RUMP STEAK: served with mushroom sauce, fried garlic oil, or blue cheese cream (from the buffalo starter). Again, each of the sauces had their own merits. The mushroom was subtler than the others, but very satisfying with the steak. The garlic oil had a delicate fragrance and crunchy texture. It didn't have that burnt taste which garlic often gets when fried, nor was it sharp from being too raw. The blue cheese flavour was even more apparent now without the spice and tang of the buffalo seasoning as a distraction, but I really enjoyed this over my steak. The blue cheese combined with garlic was even better!<br/><br/>By the end of this course we were so full that we couldn't even think about dessert. Overall I had a great time at Bushman's Grill. The food quality was brilliant, the flavours didn't disappoint, and the service was amazing. Our host Tammy did a great job at describing the history of the restaurant. Their years of experience with this cuisine put them ahead of many other barbecue and grill restaurants in my books. The dishes and condiment parings created by Tammy's brother are like works of art, but without the disappointing portion sizes than "artful food" often comes with. Something worth noting is their beverage menu: they have a range of premium sodas including imported drinks from SA/Zimbabwe (check out their awesome green creaming soda!)<br/><br/>I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who is anti-"dainty" when it comes to eating. A great bloke-y restaurant that I think all dad's would love. I will definitely be bookmarking this restaurant for revisiting in the near future. Thank you once again to the staff of Bushman's Grill for the great food and brilliant service. <br/>

Delicious! If you haven't been to Bushman's Grill yet, I suggest you do. Its a meat fest with everything including the marinades and dipping sauces being cooked and prepared on site (even the salt on the chips), its some seriously good stuff. <br/><br/>Last night I had the pleasure of sampling multiple entrees - the ultimate onion, wild wings and calamari - and also a couple of mains and sides - Flame grilled chicken, baby back pork ribs and the rump steak. All of which were perfectly cooked and full of flavour!<br/><br/>The dishes that stood out the most for me was definitely the flame grilled chicken and the ribs. The chicken which I had opted to be lemon and herb, was absolutely stunning. The meat was soft and moist and the seasoning was a perfect match too. The ribs were delicious too - very smokey with a hint of sweetness. YUM!<br/><br/>Thanks to the amazing team at Bushman's! I'll be back soon :D<br/><br/>Oh and photos are from the Zomato Foodie meet and actual dishes are much MUCH bigger!!

Had an incredible tasting menu at Bushman's Grill last night and was IMPRESSED. The team here certainly know what they're doing when it comes to cooking amazing, perfectly cooked and unique meat dishes. The Wild Wings won for me, closely followed by the ribs and blooming onions. Despite trying to pressure the owners into sharing the recipe it is clearly a well kept secret so will be coming back very soon.

Outstanding food and super fun environment. The owners are on the floor and an incredibly down to earth couple. When it's your birthday, they sing for you wearing hats - a really nice touch. The rump was perfectly cooked, the charring on the chicken delicious, but the accompanying sauces were the winner on the night .... oh yeah, and the blooming onion!

Love love love! We had the pleasure of dining here last night and met the owners Tammy and Gerard who are really inspirational people and put so much love and care into their food! Their love of food is reflected on the plates that are served. Everything we tried (chicken, ribs, rump, onions and calamari) being so perfectly cooked and full of flavour! Also highly recommend their range of homemade sauces I would come back for the garlic sauce alone. <br/><br/>Definately coming back here! Great family favourite, simple food with amazing flavour cooked perfectly !

Great fresh food with matching sauces. The owners are very friendly and really know their food. The mushroom sauce goes really well with the fresh quality meat. Highly recommended.

Awesome restaurant, went here for my birthday. Was a great place and awesome atmosphere. Food was hearty n very good. Had about 15 people and they all were keen to go back again. I had the steak n ribs and had no complaints was soo good!!

We have been her a few times and have always enjoyed the food. The Ribs are reasonably good and I love the Spinach and Artichoke Dip Starter. I do think they could offer a little more on the sides that come with you meals though, as if you have to buy numerous sides, it becomes a bit expensive.

Good portions and the ribs are absolutely delicious. The peri peri chicken is really good and their sauces are great accompaniment to any meal when bought to take home. Service is pretty prompt and it's good for families too. Easy to get to from the Northern motorway with plenty of parking in the lot by the side.

Bushman's Grill is the right place for you if A. YOU LOVE MEAT and B. YOU LIKE BIG PORTIONS. <br/><br/>Bushman's Grill steakhouse is a huuuuge restaurant. There's an outdoor extension area at the back which is where I sat. I was pretty much in love from the moment I saw the menu.... SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! I really enjoyed the ambiance - very inviting. My dinner of steak and calamari blew my mind! It was delicious. My steak was just a teeensy bit on the dry side. Otherwise, my dining experience was perfect!

I had such an amazing time at Bushmans grill a few nights ago. I came with a group of friends and we all enjoyed every second. The food was amazing, I had the ribs and spicy rice, definitely recommend. The staff were so friendly always smiling, knew the menu and were so helpful, our waitress Bella was incredible. <br/>Thank you for a great night!

Two words "Excellent food". We never tried african cuisine before but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were welcoming the variety in the menu was great and everything tasted delicious. The monkey gland sauce would be the highlight for me. The prices are also appropriate for the portion if food that is served. I would really recommend this place if someone wanted to try african cuisine.

Usually very good but tonight I reserved a table (as usually you can't walk in) and explained we would need a high chair and could we please be in the main restaurant (we have been hauled out to the back in the cold before) thinking of my 7 month old baby. I was told that we would get what we were given. No remorse, terrible attitude for a so called family restaurant. Think again before going here.

Good spot, had steak and chicken,friend had ribs and chicken,also chicken schnitzel,chips etc...good flavours,tender meat,portions ok.service good and seating was fine..and price was reasonable..and better yet, no wobbly table, will be going back

One of the more comfortable dining experiences I've had in a while - the atmosphere is so relaxed and everyone seems to be having an amazing time. Probably supported by the copious amount of delicious meat in front of them. Last night we ordered pretty much every flavour and type of meat Bushman's serves, and every bite was cooked and flavoured to perfection. Top tip - go on a Sunday with friends or family and pick their Sunday platter. Only gripe; our waiter wasn't too knowledgeable regarding drinks and lacked helpful recommendations.

Great, buzzing atmosphere right in the middle of the North Shore (very convenient this side of the bridge).<br/><br/>Food came out faster than expected and was very well cooked (all our steaks were cooked to perfection, exactly how we asked). I personally had mushroom soup (delicious and creamy) for starters and the steak (medium rare) and calamari (deep fried) combo for main.<br/><br/>A bit on the pricey side however well worth the money if you're after a quality feed that'll leave your belly happy and full!

If you want large portions of meat this is the place to go! We wanted a BBQ place and one that wasn't too expensive for others in our group and this place definitely doesn't disappoint in options.<br/><br/>We had the calamari, onion rings, buffalo wings and spinach artichoke dip to share and it was just like any grill place in the states. I have been craving this for years and I was in heaven.<br/><br/>I had my steak with the blue cheese sauce which I found to be too thick and without much flavour so I ended up using someone else's mushroom sauce but the steak was cooked just as I had requested and the ribs were delicious. <br/><br/>I had ordered a bottle of Pinot Gris and when opened found it was fizzy and the waitress quickly brought another. Great service even though it's packed in there!

This is definitely one of my favourite places. The staff are friendly and the food is spot on! The portions are good and their creamed spinach is to die for. Also the family platter that you can get on a Sunday is such a good value. 4 portions of ribs and 4 portions of chicken plus sides for $76. Definitely recommend this place! If you haven't tried Bushmans yet you're missing out ;-)

A fellow foodie recommended this place to me, and I couldn't be more grateful. Their steak is awesome, their peri peri chicken is awesome, their ribs are awesome, the creamy spinach is super awesome. Love everything about this place. Friendly atmosphere with great waitstaff and they even have a children's room. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place 😊 great for family lunches and dinners. Amazing value for what you get and their specials are amazing. Everything I have ever had from here is delicious and the staff are so accommodating. I will never go anywhere else for ribs and peri peri chicken 😊

Last night was our 2nd time going to the bushmans grill and the food was brilliant just like the first time.. The only that I'd like to complain about is there was 1 group next to us who had ordered their entrees after us, but they got their entree before us.. So we waited for 30 minutes after the group next to us received theirs. Then when we received our entree we demolished it in 5 minutes. After that one of the waiters came over to us and asked "oh would you like us to start cooking your main now?" Like ugh.. Do we need to tell you when it needs to be cooked? Also, when we went to pay for our meal, it looked like 1 of the staff was getting frustrated at maybe his mom (which I think is part of the staff also? Cos he was giving her attitude! Just a hit of advice, please keep it professional.. So if anything customer service is the reason why my rating is so low.. Food was brilliant as always though.

This Is African Theme restaurant. Food and service are very good. We love the steak and Malva Pudding very much..You can bring your family to come. Is a good place..

Visited last week, staff were super friendly and helpful. The peri peri chicken was AMAZING & so was the calamari. Unfortunately the deep fried onion was a bit disappointing (onion a bit undercooked) and we probably wouldn't order it again due to the price. We had ribs which the guys enjoyed, but us girls found the sauce a little bit overpowering. The steak was very tender and sauces with it were nice, however it had been cooked in what seemed like a massive amount of garlic, which was very very strong and made the whole steak taste like garlic which was unfortunate. The 3 of us who each had different cuts of steak all thought the same thing. We would return, but would ask for the steak without garlic :) thanks for a nice meal with friends, and lovely service.

Went here for my partners birthday and we loved it. Steak is cooked exactly how you ask for it and the sauces on the side are so tasty we needed more of them. I think the portion sizes are right as well. Staff here are wonderful, never without a smile and make us feel really welcome. We really enjoyed our experience here and we will be back again.

I am an infrequent regular and cannot find too many faults with this place. The steaks, snails, ribs, etc are all exceptional and so is the service. Very friendly staff and great ambience. One must try this restaurant at least once and then once more. Highly recommended. But be warned as it gets booked pretty quickly...so call them before going. Been here a few times with my family — we're at least 7 every time we visit. It's a bit small, this place, so booking is recommended! It's quite popular so it gets fully booked on weekends. Staff are very friendly, they never wear the smiles off their faces! Food is just great, full of flavour and I love their choices of sauce — sauces are just mmm-mmm!! There's a range of steak choices, offers chicken on the menu if you don't eat beef. If we're a bit low on budget and we're a group, we like to order their platters! Ribs are just amazeballs what can I say more!

Review: Entrees are amazing. Snails, Calamari, Peri-peri livers, mmpH! It's all super flavoursome. The mains, the ribs, the burgers, the steaks, the chips, and that garlic sauce!? MMMPH! The desserts? Waffles and Malva Pudding?! AMAZING. The coffee? A bit of a dud, but what do you expect? It's a steakhouse not a flippin cafe! The speed? Slow. But it's worth the wait every single time, and we were ordering for 8 people, so patience is always a virtue! Would go again!

Booked a table after reading bookings recommended. Arrived on time and seated. <br/>Waitress gave us our drink menus in record time...was very impressed. Considering how busy this family restaurant is, the staff work like clockwork. Very precise, friendly and fast!<br/>Ordered the onion as the starter. Loved it, so tasty and presented on an old fashioned skillet.<br/>I ordered the ribs. Succulent and tasty. Partner had the fillet. Yep, they do know how to cook steak. <br/>This is essentially a steak restaurant with a south African theme. Very busy and full to the brim but still a very enjoyable night out. Discovered Schweppes dry lemon is in fact bitter lemon in the UK. In my element to find My favorite drink Mongst the imported soft drinks. Will defiantly be back.

Our family celebration was made extra special by the attentive staff and family friendly atmosphere at Bushmans Grill.  My steak was cooked to perfection and according to my husband his ribs were the best in town.  Generous portions made it real value for money.

I have eaten at Bushman's grill at least 5 times and have always had a fantastic experience. The ribs are a top favourite amongst my family as they're always cooked perfectly and the sauce is delicious! I can also confirm that the chicken, steak, and calamari are all fantastic as well, the only problem being that it's hard to choose which one you want! We go for the chips as a side every time we go, because the seasoning is really tasty and unique and they're always nice and crispy.<br/><br/>The ultimate onion is a great starter dish for sharing with a group as there is a huge amount of onion, but it is tasty and crispy and gives me fond memories of the Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse in America.<br/><br/>Typically, we choose to have the garlic bread to start off with, however last time we were there we thought we'd mix things up and try the wings with the blue cheese sauce. We were NOT disappointed! My boyfriend was still raving about them days later and couldn't decide whether or not he liked them better than the ribs!<br/><br/>The staff and owners are really lovely and friendly, always very genuine in asking if we enjoyed/are enjoying the meal, and very nice to chat to. When we went for my boyfriends birthday we had a whole group of them singing happy birthday to him which was a lot of fun.<br/><br/>Absolutely love the Bushman's Grill and everything they offer, I'm very much looking forward to the next time I dine there!

Superb steak house that offers halal options, which is always a bonus. Service has always been exceptional since the first time I stepped foot into the establishment a couple of years ago. I have been travelling back since, bringing more and more friends each time to the point I celebrated my birthday there last year.<br/><br/>Love the food and I love that garlic lovers sauce of yours. Would love to see more halal options in the future and, of course, the continued excellence. Well done! :)

We’ve been to the Bushman’s many times and have never failed to enjoy the experience.<br/><br/>The food is incredible. I don’t know what they do with their steaks, and believe me, I’ve tried to figure it out at home and failed, but nowhere manages to come close to the flavour they achieve. Their chips are great, ribs and calamari are awesome, creamed spinach needs to come in bigger servings (not really, I‘d eat way too much of it) and the desserts are delicious. <br/><br/>We like the staff and enjoy the wine and beer offering.<br/><br/>We take friends there often, they’ve all enjoyed it as much as we do. Some have made it their go-to eating spot.<br/><br/>It needs to be bigger. So a negative. At times it can get pretty full and we’ve missed out on a walk in once.<br/><br/>Great place, great food, great staff.

Best food ever - the beef burger is to die for! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone wants to taste authentic delicious SA food ?

I've personally been to Bushman's Grill 5 times and I live in Glen Eden, West Auckland. I found this place while playing cricket across the way at Takapuna. When I want to go out for a Steak dinner I'll drive across town because it's that good. I'd rate the food at this place 4-5 minimum. The customer service from the owners in particular is 5.

our family of 4 were told about the Bushman's Grill by our Sth African friends, we were eager to try it out.  it was a busy night - still service was great. Just attentive enough.  Lots of napkins received on request!the ribs were lovely and plenty to share; too good to leave.the onion starter was serious good too - would love to try this at home.Thanks Guys

If so many people were telling you to go try the place, that's word of mouth. And they said "go try the place", not "stay away"!! Bushman's is a great restaurant, yes everybody might have their<br/> off days, but the many times we were there, we were extremely happy. I can in all honesty say, treat yourself, because this restaurant feels warm, cozy and have amazingly gorgeous food. Bushman's dont let a few pricks make you cringe, it just leaves more room for the people on a waiting list, who can't wait to be seated. Stay strong and keep serving those gorgeous meals. Would love ❤ to see a breakfast menu in the future too.;-)

I follow Bushman's Grill on facebook and noticed they posted about an unfair review. I have dined here numerous times and will continue to do so. And i must apologise to the owner for only now writing a review.<br/>The family always get together here for any celebration. Why? Great service. Attentive wait staff. Especially when putting up with a bunch of loud Pommes. <br/>Food is always excellent. Especially the Ultimate Onion. YUM. Though I recommend sharing this as a starter. You want to save room for their yummy steaks and sauces. They have a fantastic steak menu with a good variety. <br/>They allow BYO with corkage fee. Fantastic. <br/>A perfect little steak house on the shore. <br/>We will return.

Came here with my boyfriend and a friend after reading great reviews. It didn't disappoint. The service was very friendly and attentive and the food a simple but delicious. Monkey gland sauce is a must with your steak, and the peri-peri chicken is also mouth-watering. Will definitely be back.

This has been on my wish list for a while because of the awesome reviews I read a while ago but has something changed since then?? We weren't blown away unfortunately.<br/><br/>The decor is simple but spacious. Kids room with Kinect must come handy for families with kids. It was a Sunday night so was dead and our waiter was new so didn't know everything which is understandable yet he was friendly and smiled so no complaints there!!<br/><br/>I had the rib and steak combo - ribs were exceptional. I wanted a sirloin but was told rump is the only option contrary to the menu. Rump was rare instead of med rare and my friend's was med rare instead of med well. Sent them both back for some more cooking which was reasonable prompt. Another friend had chicken which was good too.<br/><br/>Portion size is generous like you would expect at a steakhouse and the ribs oh they are good!!! BUT what steakhouse doesn't serve mash guys c'mon!!! <br/><br/>Overall verdict- this is a poor man's Lone Star but still.. Stick to Lone Star!!<br/><br/>Side note- the spicy rice side is delicious better than Nando's which they have obviously tried to copy!!

Have been here a few times since moving to the North Shore. Service is always great but the food is even better. This place has always fully been very busy when we have been here even saying that the service & wait times are very good. A must try if you're wanting to try this place. Really good that most of the meals can be order as 1/2 & 1/2's .

I have to commend the customer service that was provided the night we went. The pricing was also appropriate, along with the available range of dishes. Unfortunately though, each of our steaks were not prepared according to our preferences. More precisely, each of dishes were overcooked, albeit not substantially though. Regardless, the merited aspects noted above were sufficient for a satisfying experience.

I come here for my 21st birthday (21/03/15) I had been following Bushmans Grill on zomato for quite a while and loved the look of the menu and all the reviews that I just had to try this place and it was the perfect pick. I booked for 30 guests and we had 3 tables of 10. We were greated by im guessing the owner and manager of the establishment was a very warm greeting and our table were ready waiting for us so we were seated straight away. We done some catching up and ordered drinks the bar service was really slack but im just going to guess its because the place was booming! Every table in the restaraunt was full. After drinks were ordered food orders were taken from each table and our food was out faster than our drinks. The food was very impressive and I can not fault it. The waitresses that we had were very attentive and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. Also the manager (I hope im right) was constantly making sure everything was going well and if we needed anything which was very nice. I also had a cake and the waitresses brang it out wearing hats singins happy birthday and they also had happy birthday playing over the speakers I felt very very special. We weren't even rushed to go when we were finished. There was also a very big entertainment room for the kids that was awesome when they got bored. Everyone that come with me had an awesome time and loved their food we will deffinately be back!! Thank you so much for an awesome night!!

I took my partner to Bushman's Grill on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. Booking was super easy (via their website) and was followed up via email. When we arrived we found it easy to find a carpark right outside and then were seated straight away. Throughout our meal, the staff were friendly and attentive. And the food? It arrived really fast and holy moly - I can say without a doubt that those were the best ribs I've ever had in my life! I ordered the 500g serving with a side salad, and that was more than ample. My boyfriend went for the 750g serving and fries, and despite having a big appetite he was very full at the end of the meal (and even declined dessert). I would go back based just on those ribs alone (sure, I could try something else on the menu, but really I'm all about those ribs), the great staff and service were an added bonus.

Four members of our family enjoyed dinner at Bushman's Grill one Saturday night in March. We enjoyed the experience tremendously. Everything was brilliant; from the staff to the food and the atmosphere. While we appreciated the opportunity to sit down and munch away at delicious, traditional South African food and enjoy the wine, it was really cool to see so many people of other cultures in attendance and enjoying their time there as well. This was an evening well spent; we'll do it again when we visit Auckland in the near future, that's for sure!

My husband and I went to dinner last night 6/03/15 to celebrate our 28th anniversary. We were wished on arrival, our table was the only one to have a candle burning. The food was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. To top it off, our dessert was free :-) A BIG thank you to management and staff for making this special occasion a wonderful experience. Loved the atmosphere. I have never been to South Africa but I felt like I was in a small part of it. The waitress was humorous, attentive, and cheeky which was a pleasure. The food was fantastic and my wife loved her steak. I have never eaten calamari that just melted in the mouth. We arrived without a booking but got a seat. The place filled up quickly. The meals were a good size and the coating on the chips is amazing Che's special mix I was told). I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants a good meal in a very relaxing atmosphere. The best part for me was a child having a birthday at another table and the staff singing happy birthday along with the song playing through the sound system. To everyone at the Bushman's Grill keep doing what you're doing and keep doing it well. A winner for me.

Amazing food! Great customer service! Even though the restaurant was packed, they made time for us. Ordered the Chicken and Calamari (odd combination) and it was cooked to perfection. Will love to come back as soon as possible.

Dinner on Friday night @ Bushmans was great. The restaurant is not too far from the motorway so we didn't have to look very hard, making it nice and easy to get to. First impressions of the venue was that it was a Safari Themed restaurant that also had a large focus on families. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. For entrees we had one portion of snails and one portion of prawns. Both came in delicious sauces with whole grain bread. They were tasty and just the right amount for an entree. For mains, partner had Ribs and I had chicken snitchzel (photo attached) with the mushroom sauce. Both meals were very large but were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very family orientated and we definitely felt comfortable. The overall experience was very enjoyable.

Excellent service, definitely a kids friendly restaurant. Got baby/tots play area. Kinetic for older kids. Pork ribs are just amazing!! And I like the chips as well. Will definitely come back again!

Great Warm friendly family restaurant, my husband and I we both enjoyed it, is our 2nd time in 2 weeks. Love the steak perfect cook and staff and owner is so friendly with good customer service. Value of money too and food is yummy. Will recommend to friends and family.

I took my wife here last Sunday because it was her birthday. We enjoyed the food. My wife particularly loved the steak and the peri chicken. It was a bit pricey but it's all worth it.

Food was amazing! Friendly service! The meat was cooked beautifully and the spicy rice is a must try. Will definitely be going back but might miss getting sauces with steaks next time!

Rustic family restaurant with a Sth African charm who specialise in flavoursome meat dishes! Stay away vegetarians! Great for kids (although kids nuggets meals weren't popular with ours) with a large entertainment zone for them and I saw lots of families here. It's tucked in between a number of other mid-range restaurants next to the Poenamo Hotel. I had the half chicken with salad, very tasty and moist and I particularly liked the smoky BBQ marinade. The food came quick and the staff are friendly. View of the carpark and busy thoroughfare a bit unsettling, but obviously a popular place with locals!

Went here tonight for the first time. Wow. Amazing friendly quick service. Food was just fantastic. Beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Will definitely go back again with friends next time. I think we have found our new favourite place to eat. Thanks heaps Bushman's. :-)

Been to a lot of rib places on the shore and this is the best. Really wicked family friendly vibe. Huge portion sizes and the sauce on the ribs is unbeatable

Had a great meal there last night for the first time was beautiful food. The ribs were cooked well, the chicken excellent and the burger was really quite large. The service was great and the people friendly. Great kids area out the back for the kids to escape to and play. The menu is fantastic and wide range of drinks on offer. If there was one downside and only a very small one is the food offered with mains you can choose only one of the following chips, rice, salad and having to pay for extra. This is only an extremely small downside as the portions are large so its gets by. Overall however a great place that we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and we will be coming back.

It was packed to the brim and yet the food came out quickly and the meals were top top class. All the guests were laughing and chatting and happy.<br/>A great atmosphere and the hosts were friendly and helpful. <br/>The ribs I had were the best in town by far and Nicholis Louw and his sound engineer Sybrandt raved about their steaks. <br/>A feast of an evening. We have become regulars here and just love it. The onion starters is just to die for, get extra sauce because its so big you will need it. The ribs are falling off the bones, steak cooked to perfection, and you must have the garlic or money sauce. My daughter visited me from South Africa and I made reservations at the Bushman's Grill for her and her brother with his girlfriend who is from the Philippines. I also arranged with management to place a single red rose with a welcome card on our table on arrival - fantastic job guys my daughter was totally blown away by this. I'm lost for words to describe the fantastic food and what you get for your buck is unbelievable, we could not finish our meals that how huge they were.  The young lady that served us was "on the ball" all the time.  She never let us out of her sight, cleared our table on time and served up the next round in no time.  Well done.  We experienced a fantastic evening with fantastic management with the real feeling and atmosphere of Africa.  Keep it up guys.  Truly felt like I was back in Africa food wise.  I can truly say your food "only from Africa" and I mean this is a good sense.  Well done and thank you so much making our evening an unforgettable experience.  "I will be back"

My husband and I eat out often so we always looking for a great place to eat, well coming from Tauranga where we have great restaurants we did not think there could be a better place to eat.  Guess what?   We found it, Bushmans Grill in Northcote, a good friend told us about this and we travelled all the way to Auckland one Saturday night just for this meal (we did book into a motel) .  <br/><br/>I can honestly say we ate to our hearts content and recommend this restaurant to anyone, we could not fault anything.  The food was great, the service fantastic and very friendly.<br/><br/>The food is to die for.....I do not like Auckland (traffic) but  we will be back....thanks again!

Fantastic Food - All eight of us!<br/><br/>We went for a family/friends dinner last night.<br/><br/>Menu selection caters for everyone's needs. Our waitress Rose was attentive and friendly. The Manager was also concerned that our needs were meet. I had the eye fillet which was a perfect portion and lovely cut of meat, which was cooked to my request Medium and not how the chefs think I should eat it, the blue cheese sauce &amp; chips were yum. The wine prices I think were incredibly reasonable Roaring Meg Pinot $45.00. Everyone in our group said the food was delicious and everyone ate everything. The combo meals are large so come with a big appetite! We will definitely be back! It is very family friendly :-) with a wee playroom out back for your little kids.

Had dinner here tonight. Ordered the prawns &amp; ribs for starters, and both my husband and I had the scotch fillet. The service was lovely and prompt and the steak was cooked to perfection. However, that is the only good thing I can say. The prawns were overcooked and dry and drowned in an overpowering cheese sauce and served with what looked like a slice and a half of burgen bread from the supermarket that could have at least been warmed and toasted. The rib was dry and had very little sauce on it so was rather tasteless. The table salad with the main was basically a large bowl of salad/lettuce mix with 5 cherry tomatoes, thick chunks of raw capsicum (should never be in a salad) and some red onion with a bottle of oil and balsamic vinegar. The mushroom sauce was horrible and did not taste like mushroom - it tasted like something sweet with herbs and was cold and thick, not lovely and creamy. The garlic sauce was full of burnt garlic - another cooking no-no. And maybe try watties chunky fries if you cant make your own, they are at least crispy. To pay $110 for two mains and two entrees you would hope for a bit of quality. Hugely disappointing, I would not recommend to anyone who knows quality food.

Overall an excellent experience.<br/>Food was fantastic. We ordered 2 family platters and extra ribs and buffalo wings and that was plenty for 9 adults and 2 kids. The ribs were fantastic but I would have to say that the chicken took the cake.<br/>The bill was just over $180 (without drinks) which is very reasonable considering we were all full.<br/>Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The even sang happy birthday to one of our party and shouted a dessert for him!<br/>We will definitely be back.

Came for dinner on Saturday Night and were very impressed.<br/>Really large portions and food came in a timely manner.<br/>The only criticism I could make would be that I don't mind being asked how my meal is, but being asked 4 times in the space of 15 minutes was a bit much.. Might have just been where we were sitting as it was next to where the staff walk by.<br/>Only a very minor thing and definitely wouldn't put me off coming back!

Delicious, authentic and truly mouthwatering experience. Really helpful staff. Food fresh and tender (the rump was mouthwatering). Atmosphere relaxing &amp; beer was cold.....NIRVANA!!!<br/>We didn't realise that this place existed (the last time I was here it was the old Poenamo) and was advised by South African friends to try Bushmans Grill. As an Aussie, I love my meat dishes and can be quite picky, but we (there were 4 of us) couldn't fault the presentation, taste and freshness of the food. You really have to try this place to understand how good it is!

This was the second time visiting this restaurant with my partner & our ten month old son. Very friendly staff & I got the impression it was one of the owners serving us (very friendly lady with a S.A. accent) and she made us feel right at home. She seated us immediately & brought some age appropriate toys for our son to play with! We shared the 'hot' wings which were flavoursome but not very spicy and the garlic bread which was gobbled up quickly by my partner and son.<br/><br/>The 2 star review is for our mains - we both had the ribs and as my partner described them, were "as tough as old boots". Ribs should be falling off the bone, or at least easy to pull apart. It was difficult to pull them apart with our hands, and when they did give, you could hear the noise of the meat ripping apart! An establishment cannot afford to UNDERCOOK their ribs when there are other places on the Shore doing ribs properly for the same price, or cheaper. Also, we would have sent them back if anyone would have bothered to ask how our meals were but sadly, no one came back to our table - server nor manager to check on us.<br/><br/>As a North American, I grew up eating pork ribs from a young age and also have learnt how to cook them properly at quite a few restaurants as I used to work as a chef. Over cooking ribs on the grill would dry them out or burn them, but if they are so tough that they can't easily be pulled apart by hand means that the meat didn't have nearly enough time to cook/break down in an oven or slow cooker to tenderise the meat. Putting them on a grill is really just meant to be a final step to caramelise the sauce & create that flame grilled, smoky taste. <br/><br/>Such a shame because otherwise it was a great experience. I would possibly go back (on the off chance that I could convince my partner to spend another $80 there) but definitely not for the ribs.

Went to Bushmans Grill last night for dinner and we had a lovely time.My partner and I are big fans of ribs and the ribs here are AMAZING! The meat falls off the bone and there is just the right amount of their amazing sauce.<br/><br/>The service was great. Everyone was friendly and were great at recommending items on the menu.<br/><br/>I don't have anything negative to say about this place at all.<br/><br/>There were plenty of kids there as well so a perfect place to take the family.

Four of us dropped in on Friday 27th September at 5:30pm. We had not booked and although fully booked they were happy to accommodate us.<br/><br/>The music was at the right volume as we could hear each other when having our conversation, but able to enjoy the background music. Tonight I took my family for dinner to celebrate my eldest son's birthday. What an amazing place, the most friendliest of staff,top of the range service. The food was amazing and prices reasonable. I love the sense of family atmosphere when dining there. I have been here several times before and will keep going back. Thank you to staff, chefs, waitress for impeccable service. A true South African experience enjoyed the venue and the menu. The best malvapoeding I have ever tasted. And the dom pedro are to die for. Hubby was very impressed with his steak done to perfection. Went to the restaurant the other night for the 1st time for a b'day dinner and was somewhat disappointed with the meal. We ordered a loaf to start with, which looked like a supermarket roll with something tasteless melted on top with nuts. After eating the rolls we waited at least 30 mins for the main which when the length of time was queried we were told it was because we had an entree (the rolls). I had a scotch fillet which contained a lot of sinew. My wifes fillet steak was cooked perfectly. I thought it was a bit much that you had to pay for the mushroom sauce on the steak which was very sweet. The creamed spinach was shredded and was swimming in cream. The atmosphere was very pleasant as was the hostess. Sadly there won't be a return visit. I thought it was over-priced for what we got.

Apart from the menu missing the 600g Rump steak, which was one of the drawcards of the online menu, the experience was wonderful.<br/>The hostess was very friendly and her wine recommendations and knowledge were superb.<br/>The meal itself was well presented (better than expected for a Steakhouse) and the food quality was well above the norm.<br/>Price-wise, slightly more expensive than anticipated, but well worth the spend and certainly good value for money.<br/>Good quality wine and wonderful food were the order of the day. A great night out for all and we would certainly go back for our next special occasion.<br/>Please realign the menu on this site with what is on offer at the restaurant, item and price-wise.<br/>Thanks.

On Friday 25 January 2013 (my birthday) we phoned late in the afternoon to book a table for six - no problem, they would make sure we get a table. On arrival we were warmly greeted and immediately directed to our booth (just as requested). The place was buzzing. It was just about full and there was a vibe that told everyone that everyone else was having a great time. Babies, children, golden oldies... everyone was there, laughing and enjoying themselves. Our table ordered 5 rump steaks. On the menu it was described as a 500 g steak. The hostess came to apologize... tonight the steaks were 600 g... was that ok? Hell yeah!! This has only been my second time at Bushman's Grill and I can honestly say that both experiences were top notch! The food is absolutely fantastic, the portions are huge and the service is great. I have no hesitation in referring absolutely everybody to go &amp; enjoy the African steak house experience. This is without a doubt my new favourite and I will make sure to get there at least once a month. Thank you for making my birthday special and fun.

Was great. <br/><br/>Added note is that I cannot eat gluten and they were able to cater for that, though not all the steak sauce options were gluten free. No complaints with what we could choose though!

Only found about this place by chance, and what a lucky find it was! From the moment we walked through the doors we were wowed by friendly and very attentive staff. My partner is a vegetarian so going to a steakhouse type restaurant is no good, up until now! There is enough bits and portions were generous, the food and plates piping hot and gosh the taste was fantastic. I will definitely go back again and again. Also don't be put off by it being on the North Shore, it is close to the bridge and very easy to find. This will also appeal to South Africans living in Auckland area that was fond of "THE SPUR" restaurant chain in South Africa- this place is even better. We only miss the pink sauce and onion rings!

Have been in New Zealand on and off for the past 12 years, moved here for good 6 years ago, this has to be the very best meal we have had, well done, as we were 6 in our party, we all had different items from the menu, we were all pleased, now that is saying something, would you not agree, we will be back. Went there for dinner tonight and WOW so impressed. Excellent service &amp; menu choice. Food was just perfect. Large portions of great quality food at very reasonable prices. Huge thanks to the chef, hostess and our waitress for all the wonderful service, awesome food and comfortable surroundings. This is definitely going to be our family favourite from now on. Will be back very soon and will make sure we leave room to try some of the those lovely desserts you have. You will not be disappointed but might want to book it was really busy for a Tuesday night.

3 of us went there for the first time on Wednesday evening (16/01) and loved the place. We went without a booking but were quickly accommodated by the friendly hostess. <br/>It is a very warm, cozy atmosphere.<br/>Each of us ordered the ribs and steak combo and absolutely loved it and were well satiated. (Highly recommend the Monkey Gland sauce!!)<br/>The Malva pudding was delicious and was enough for 2 of us to share.<br/>The service was quick and friendly.<br/><br/>Will definitely be back. Soon!!.

We dined here on Sunday Evening. Was very impressed with the Service very attentive by the lovely hostess. The food amazing and very affordable we had the family platter fitting for a family of 4 and have been yearning for a place like this not to far from home. The decor is very cool with the Southern Africa touches especially enjoyed the food being served out trendy cast iron skillets.<br/><br/>I definitely recommend you go their I know I sure will be!

Absolutely love this place! Food never disappoints and service is always wonderful. This is our new family favourite restaurant!!. <br/>We always order the family platter which includes a whole chicken cut in quarter plus ribs, salad and Fries. We never leave hungry after having this platter. We will definitely be back in the new year!

My daughter and I dined at this restaurant. We were both impressed with the service, the food - omg delishhhhhh and value for money. Definitely going back again and in fact have already reserved our seats for next week. Hopefully we're not too late booking with the Xmas season upon us. I live out of Auckland and have been dreaming/craving the steak and ribs, fingers crossed we get in.

Had a fabulous meal for 8 people last night at this delightful steakhouse. Table was available on time, service was outstanding and the food was perfect. The boys had great ribs (and loads of them - probably about 3.5 kgs between 4 of us!), the gals had steak and chicken, and we all had awesome desserts too - drinks were great and even the dom pedro's were as I knew them growing up! Nice work guys and we'll be back.

I have eaten here twice now, the first time I had the spare ribs and the second time I just had to have the spare ribs again with other starters to taste. I'll be going back soon! The sauce on the ribs is perfect, I loved the starters we shared on the table. The pepper sauce with the great steak mains was exquisite, well done. Great specials during the week, really affordable, wholesome meals. Friendly service and lovely decor.

We came here on the recommendation of friends, but unfortunately we were disappointed with our meals. Peri peri 1/2 chicken came as two legs (ie 2 x 1/4’s) and didn’t have much peri peri flavour at all, the rib portions small with no sauce, the calamari overcooked, crumbed chicken schnitzel a bit pinky in the middle but overcooked on the crumbed coating, so yeah pretty disappointing overall. I thought it was a bit pricey for the standard of food.

Wow this was a surprise. Northcote's best kept secret! top marks for quality, ambience and service. My partner is South African and we got invited along to his friend's birthday dinner. We were a large group and the restaurant was very busy but the service we received was wonderful. I believe the family are from Zimbabwe originally and have brought their influences over to NZ. My partner ordered the steak, as did a few of the guys at our table - apparently that is exceptional. For any chicken fans, the peri peri chicken is the best I've had in some time. As well as a well priced bar, they also allow BYO which is nice to know for next time. I will definately be back thank you!!

I've just returned from being overseas for a few years and nice to see there is another decent restaurant on the Shore that caters to all ages, great food and reasonably priced. Love the city, but it nice not to have to cross the dreaded Bridge to get a taste of something different! Another thing I like in a restaurant is a nice ambiance and decor that takes me away from my everyday worries. Bushman's Grill delivers 100 percent.

We eat out very regularly and are well travelled. This was by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at in Auckland! <br/>Our group of 5 had different meals, all sub standard and all greasy. The Peri Peri chicken served floating in fat lacked flavour, the side dish of basting was chicken fat .Calamari ? frozen was very chewy with a doey coating. Ribs were small &amp; tough you needed good teeth to get the meat off the bone. Frozen chips or salad completed the nightmare. I do not think this restaurant could operate without a deep fryer. Outside area between the toilets &amp; Genji's is also poor. Our bill was over $200 main courses only??

Very disappointed, service was very average. Waited 15 min for my second drink, ordered the home made garlic loaf - was given 2 small brown pak and save rolls. When asked if that was the home made loaf the waiter said 'that's how is always is'. The burger was just another disappointment. The only good thing was the lady on the till when we paid, she was very polite and friendly.

Great menu with some special twists. The food was really tasty and perfectly done. The service was Friendly and efficient. We didn't wait long fr our meal or drinks. Portions are generous. The menu is well priced and offers value for money. This place will be a regular for us.

My family took me out for dinner and as we are South African decided to try this out.<br/>From start to finish the food was absolutely amazing. Better than any food we have ever eaten even in SA. The portions were generous and the food so tasty. It is now my best place to dine out. Highly highly recommend!!!!

Would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already. Great menu of steaks, ribs, 1/2 and 1/4 chickens, etc. Meat eaters paradise. They do a good family style meal as well, saw a family of 5 getting served big platters of meats with side dishes that seemed like a great idea. I enjoyed a steak dinner the first night we went, and we went again last week and tried the ribs. They were good, but I'm hard to impress when it comes to ribs, I am just spoiled on fantastically flavourful and tender ribs, coming from the USA. Theirs were about a 7 out of 10 on my personal scale, which is still pretty darn good for NZ ribs :)

We had seen this restaurant advertised, and knew them from past experience as they had a steak house in Harare, Zimbabwe. We weren't let down - in fact, I had the best steak eating out since I have been in NZ. The prices were good, presentation great and the meal absolutely delicious - there was nothing left on my plate. Will definitely go back there.

Service was good. Food was pretty good. Slightly overpriced in my opinion but otherwise a great place to eat. The Ribs were marvellous, the special steak did not live up to the hype though.

We ate here last night and were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food, service, and value for money. We are reasonably fussy diners and often spend the meal criticising small but important things but last night both of us were just going WOW this is awesome!<br/><br/>We dine out quite often and honestly the Bushman's Grill has got to be my new favourite place to eat in Auckland. The combo mains were perfect for the two of us, and really helped to keep prices down - for an entree, two drinks, mains, a side order and two desserts it cost $85 which had me double checking our docket to make sure they hadn't undercharged us! The quality of the food was so amazing, I was sooo impressed! I am trying to think up excuses to go back again soon!

Bushman was recommended to me by a colleague of mine and i had to see what the fuss was about. <br/><br/>I had a very positive experience everytime i visit. They were helpful with the baby seat and was a good host. <br/><br/>Look at the comments below and u will see that i do not need to elaborate much. <br/><br/>to summarize it, friendly service, GREAT FOOD, good deco, kids room, ECONOMICAL on the wallet.<br/><br/>oh you must try the mulpha pudding. ITS AWESOME

Great food, everyone at the table (10 in total from young to old) raved about the food, prices very good too. Service a bit lacking, that may be because the waiter might have been new, still very enjoyable and would recommend for a family night out.

The food was excellent and I am definitely going this restaurant again. The food price is very resonable and nice service.Highly recommend this restaurant To every one. You won't be disappointed. Go and try it yourself :)

This place was great. Don't let the bad name, sinage and location put you off. Or the menu that lists options under "munchies" and things like chicky nuggets! <br/>Ribs are amazing, steak is great value for the quality, all starters are great with my favourite dipping sauces. Only thing idnask for is more tap beer to wash it down with!

The food was excellent and the service even better I would recommend this venue to anyone without hesitation. To all South Africans I recommend you try them it is home away from home. Spare Ribs simply great. I am going back.

My husband and I had seen the restaurant being built and liked what we saw. So when we saw this being opened, we thought how about we go and have a meal. Well what a great decision. We had the flame grilled chicken with salad. On a diet??? I would recommend this dish with lemon and herb dressing. Simply delicious!!!! People get down there and have a meal, Service is great with lovely, friendly staff. Amazing atmosphere.

This is the Best family Restaurant in NZ. Amazing food, the spare Ribs are to die for. The service is excellent regardless of how busy they get. And also the only place that knows how to make a decent milkshake.

This is a great family restaurant,the room for the little children is a brilliant idea (my big kids were in there too).<br/>And of course the food was excellent too.

We had the best meal last night we have ever had in our more than 7 years in New Zealand! The service was fantastic, the food was perfect and cooked to our preference (amazing sauces). We had our 2 and a half year old with us and he also had a good time, and enjoyed colouring in a picture and he also loved the music just as much as we did :)<br/><br/>We will definitely be coming back!

What a wonderful family restaurant - things for kids to do from young ones to older, lovely people, friendly service, meal just fine and well presented, and reasonable price. Kids meals selection excellent and good value

I love to take my clients to Bushman's Grill when I'm up in Auckland for business. This is a new restaurant but the owners have already made a great success of it. Service and food is absolutely fantastic. I'm a real meat fiend and to be honest a bit of a steak snob - well Bushman's Grill excels. Highly recommend.

Finally my husband, children and I headed to Bushman's Grill to see what all the fuss is about. I'd heard such wonderful things from friends and work colleagues and we were not disappointed! Bushman's Grill has a warm, inviting atmosphere and beautifully decorated with comfortable tables as well as booths seating. We found the food exceptional - I am not a steak person at all and enjoyed the most delicious steak of my life - I chose the Scotch Fillet with Blue Cheese sauce. My husband went for 'Shane's Embrace' and has never tasted steak this good. Kids were over the moon with their enormous burgers. They also love the kids play area with games etc. Amazingly affordable, fantastic food in a great setting. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!! Will be back on a regular basis now for sure.

This was our first visit to Bushman's Grill, and we were highly impressed, great food, fantastic service and great atmosphere, ultimate onion entree and the Bushmans bread were awesome! Most tender ribs we have had in NZ, steak was perfectly done. Sons loved the burgers!Highly recommend!

Excellent. Down to earth friendly service and their steak preparation options (bleu, rare, ..) are unique. Their prices are great e.g a garlic sauce at around $3.50. My kids love the kids menu and onetime children's room. A great family dining option and a family favorite.
