The staff at Hangcock cafe were incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely satisfying. I had such a great experience there! 😄👍

I love this cafe! The warmed up apple strudel served with cream is to die for, it’s not too sweet at all, it’s perfect. The mochas are good and the fact that they come with marshmallows makes them even better. The eggs bene with bacon is delicious, one of my faves! I just wish it came with spinach, I felt it was missing that. The buttery bread that comes with the eggs bene is amazing, it’s easy to slice through which I love. The place is always busy but there are lots of seats, staff are really nice too! Highly recommend stopping by :)

Today is our first time at Hancock's Cafe. We had the best service from everyone at the counter, I had the best Matcha Latte made by a beautiful lady, smooth and delicious!! Bought one to takeaway for my daughter who is a fan of Matcha and she loves it! We had a lovely afternoon, and will definitely come again for their food. Well done!!!

Very popular busy spot. Lovely fresh food, pies where tasty 😊. Prices mid range but we where happy to pay for the quality we got. Coffee not the best we've had though, that could be improved.

Came here with my parents and it was great. I had the macaroni cheese, and it was amazing. It took barely 5min to be ready and it was nice and hot. Drinks and coffees are also very nice. I will be coming back.

I had a good coffee and a delicious eggs bene here. There was a very generous portion of bacon which was perfectly cooked. The egg was also perfect. (I chose the small portion option. Sorry about the sideways photo!)

Went there this morning for breakfast with my best friend and i knew they had good food but oh boy was I understating them! I had Salmon eggs Benedict and my friend had a premium beef burger. I cannot even begin to tell you how perfectly cooked my eggs were, it was an experience i never want to forget. The salmon was smoked and fresh, the bread it was served on was a ciabata bread that had been toatsed in a pan with some butter and it was so nice and crispy, HIGHLY recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch, they have great options, though i did try their gluten free bread a while ago, didn't like the texture though, but still tasty nonetheless. This place is definitely going to be my new favourite hang out spot.

It was fairly full and hectic when we walked in but managed to get a table. There are menus on the table in plastic holders (as well as behind the counter on the blackboards) and once you've decided you go up to order and bring back a number. Quite a few choices on the menu as well as the choices in the cabinets. I thought that the decor was quite nice and the food fairly good.

Well deserved 5 stars! Great service, coffee and food. we will definitely visit again.

Great. $16 ham and mozzarella omelet that I had trouble finishing cause it was so big. Wash it down with a mocha. As I was waiting to order the fresh muffins came out of the oven so I couldn't resist.

Stay away and save your cash! This place can not handle rush. Waited for over 20 mins for a takeaway coffee which was burnt and crap. The team could not be the right pie either super disappointed

Pancakes have been consistently good. Date scone could be lighter and less floury. Good customer service but very slow and too many options on the menu and cabinet, a more refined menu would elevate the quality focused more on few but high quality items. Overall fairly good.

The FOH are lovely and helpful. However, the food wasn’t up to what i’d expected to be. And the asian chef is quite rude and aggressive not only to the staffs but also the customers.

I love their coffee and have become somewhat of a regular but cannot say I've tried much on their menu. I do like the Moroccan chicken pasta in the display cabinet though! This place is always busy so I can tell its a local favourite.

Good food and nice Staff, great customer service. The toasted muesli with fruit/yoghurt is well presented, big portion and tastes good. This place is always busy.

I’ve been to this place 3 times now and I still can’t decide if I like it or not. The staff is friendly and hard working, but the food is what gets me. The food that I’ve tried, is delicious but the price that goes with the food does not match with the quality of taste. Regardless I’m not saying ‘Hancocks’ is bad, but I’m not saying it’s the best either ❤️

Latte cup was so hot. Could not touch it for 10 minutes. Beef pie was tasteless. Won’t go back. Peer and almond cake was underwhelming. Don’t know how to make chai latte with syrup. The chai latte was made with a tea bag. Horrible!!

It was good to have a coffee here:) crowded but fast and kind staff. Good service:) had flat white and iced americano:) will try brunch next time

Can get really busy at lunch times, but even considering this, you don't wait too long for your meal and the staff are polite and friendly.  I usually choose the eggs benedict, as I absolutely love the toasted bread they use and they cook their poached eggs so perfectly.  Their smoothies are delicious and my kids love their mac n cheese.

Hancock's is a popular cafe in Howick, so it is usually hard to get a table in peak times like lunch and afternoon tea. I have tried the Mac and Cheese, the muffins and the cronuts, all of which can be ordered from the cabinet. My mac and cheese was yummy, just needed a bit of salt and pepper otherwise it would've been rather bland. I opted for the salad to go with it, and was disappointed to find that the 'salad' was a handful of lettuce, some carrot and a tomato with a drizzle of sauce. Not worth the $2.00 I payed for it. The muffins I had were divine, served warmed with a little tub of butter. They are large, so maybe kids could share one between each other because we couldn't finish all of ours. The cronut was yummy, crisp and golden, drizzled with chocolate and filled with a sweet cream. I think they could have made them better by warming them up a bit, but I understand that that might melt the cream. We also tried smoothies. Mine was the berry one. It was verging on average, there was nothing too special about it, so I recommend ordering a Phoenix Organic juice or a fizzy drink from the fridge. Overall, this is a good place to eat, just not the best I've been to.

This cafe is always busy. No doubt the neighbor hood love this place and made it as one of their favourite breakfast lunch brunch time. We've been here couple of times. Regularly eat at Hancocks and never disappointed! Such lovely staff that remember our names and always greet us with smiles. Great prices and great portion sizes too, definitely recommend and always go back!

Came here today for morning tea. First impressions once inside were positive, the cafe is very busy, well loved by the older set, and has a good layout including my favourite, lots of bench seating. The cabinets are full of typical cakes and biscuits and lots of ready lunch items, fairly sure most is prepared on the premises rather than bought in. The cafe has a prime position in Howick Village though I generally give it a miss as I've always thought of it as a typical, suburban coffee shop in the style of the franchised chain cafes.<br/><br/>I had a latte which was good and an apple slice. The slice looked pretty good in the cabinet but didn't live up to expectations once I had it in front of me. The pastry was light brown and not sweet, not the sweet shortcake pastry that I had expected. The apple filling was really cold and in large pieces, not sweet either, so fairly bland and I didn't bother to finish it. <br/><br/>The menu is on the table and is a fairly basic all day breakfast menu including soup, salad and burger options all available to 2pm.<br/><br/>Overall I think I just chose unwisely as the food on display all looked rather tempting.

I've been here many times with friends. It's a very lovely place and staff is friendly. FREE WIFI available!! 😍 maybe a bit expensive but it worths it cause food is very good and tasty.

I went to this place in my university break with my nanna. :D We ordered cheese scone and chocolate mint milkshake. The staff was really friendly and the service was quick. I absolutely loved the milkshake. It was soooo tasty and so was the cheese scone. :D I am definitely going to visit this place again to drink choc-mint milkshake. :D The cabinet food looked tasty and will try that next time. :)

A solid performer on the Main Street of Howick, can be busy on Market day, but very convenient.<br/>The Eggs Benedict is good and the coffee reliable.

Had a good breakfast experience here today. Service was great and coffee was ok. I had the French toast for a change but I will be drying the big breakfast next time for sure. Nice family environment and definitely will be visiting again

Accommodating, friendly staff with great food and coffee that won't break the bank. Tastiest eggs benedict we've had, and the sautéed mushrooms were also delicious. Definitely recommend a visit!

Best coffee in Auckland! Yeah big call I know but give it a try. Outstanding staff with a great selection of food both out of the cabinet or made to order. I'm a fan of the spinach omelet and salmon eggs benedict. Clean and tidy too. Enjoy!

Went there couple weeks ago. Perfect location with modern design. The pasta was nice but the panini was a bit too hard? And not really happy with the service.

Quick Service. Great food for a good price. Awesome seating and lighting. Will be back again. Fast service with coffee however we felt it tasted burnt. Could have been a 5.0 experience with a good coffee

Fantastic service and variety of food. I had the steak and ale pie which was a beaut, the spinach and feta muffin is a favourite of mine. Also a huge fan of their pesto pasta and the coffee is excellent. Lovely local cafe to visit, relaxed vibe. Not a fancy cafe that goes hard out with presentation, just flavour and friendly customer service <br/>

Havn't been here in ages, and was suprised by the facelift; the food in the cabinets looked much better! We ended up really enjoying our breakfast, had the salmon omelette as well as the eggs with the basil pesto - everyone was happy with their meal and the coffees were great too:) staff were really freindly too.

We heard so many good reviews about Hancock's that we were looking forward to eating there. We were disappointed: the French toasts were not good at all and tasted like an omelette with maple syrup and bacon. Fair to say I didn't finish my dish. The full breakfast was average. At least, the coffee was very good and we'd go back only for the coffee and the yummy lemon tarts. It's shame we didn't have a good experience.

We had breakfast here this morning (Saturday) and both of us had eggs benedict.  I had salmon which there was a lot of and so with spinach...my man had the bacon and plenty of same  with a delicious sauce  price at $14.50 pretty reasonable and liked that the large plates were super hot.   Just a tad surprised that the toppings were on sliced french bread - however bread is bread ! <br/><br/>Coffee was also good also.

Best coffee! In Howick my double trim flat white was delicious I had to have another one. Excellent service happy staff heaps of yummy food to choose from the cabinet or the menu feta and spinach muffins are tasty and flavourful and the lasagna will definitely be back to try more of there food:)

Great service. Great food. Awesome value for money. Big breakfast is actually big. Pancakes are light and fluffy and not stodgy at all. Will be making this a regular breakfast location
