Review Teppanyaki Takao - Kaiapoi

Good food, great service and such a nice vibe. Local family feel :) This was our first visit, will definitely be back again!

Went with a group of 8 for end of year meal. We all had a great time awesome food and friendly service, some of our group hadn't been to teppanyaki before so great new experience

This is a second time I try a Teppanyaki in NZ... The place has a good view on the second floor and is compact with small space. The staff are friendly and with good manners the English is a bit basic which can lead to some uncertainty but nothing major. My advice is to let the chef know that you prefer to leave it up to you to handle the salt from your table as sometimes the food can be on the salty side especially having the soya sauce added as a garnish to the food. In general it's still a good place to enjoy in Kaiapoi and there's room for improvement.

Teppanyaki Takao is outstanding. Parking is plentiful. The staff are super friendly and fun. The booking I made was for 8 people and we sat around the teppanyaki bar with ease. Its a very social way to dine and lots of fun. The menu offers a variety of set menu options. They are extremely well priced. Our chef was cool. He catered to our different preferences and kept the food coming. The salmon and seafood were my favourite but also the chicken and beef were great. The bar is well stocked. The warm saki was great and the 3xvariety of cold saki was excellent. Im definitely returning here because we werecso well looked after and so our dinner party was a huge success.

Wow and yum! This food was fantastic and our fussy kids enjoyed it too! The children's menu is a great addition to options. As for the adults, I usually stay away from pork as I find it's a dry meat but seeing that it was pork belly with ginger, I had to try it. My husband wanted it too but we never allow each other to order the same thing! Husband had the prawns which he loved and I found the ginger pork moorish! Highly recommend it and will definitely return. Thanks Tanganyika Takao :)

Went here for the first time this past weekend and loved it! Staff are lovely and friendly, food is fresh and delicious. The chef kept us all very entertained and cooked our food perfectly! Highly recommend!!!!

Absolutely amazing! I have dietary issues so I'm a pain to feed, they were so lovely and accommodating, I don't remember ever having such great service. The food was spectacular, and my blue steak was cooked blue, something I have begun to suspect is quite a challenge. <br/>Highly recommended.

The food is great, but completely undone by an in &amp; out attitude to maximize covers. sure it was a Friday evening &amp; we were told we had to be out by 7.30, but to serve a complete banquet from 5.45 to 6.45 is very rushed &amp; downright rude. Worse that it was a business party of 6 (including a very regular).<br/>I have always spoken highly of the food... but it just became gourmet fast food!

This is my favorite place to go for dinner, entertainment plus super friendly staff they really do make you feel like a VIP. I have been many times with family and friends and always enjoyed ourselves especially around the hot plate. The food is always beautiful fresh and Delicious... the Prawns with that lovely creamy sauce is simply exquisite...can't fault them can't wait till the next time yum yum yum

We have been going to this great Japanese restaurant since it opened 6 years ago. We have taken many a friend &amp; family member. Its the only restaurant that I know of that treats you like your one of the family. The food is fantastic, fresh and very tasty. The staff are great and very friendly. Teppanyaki Takao is a gem. A short drive north of Christchurch and you will be treated to a microcosm of Japanese culinary excellence. Service, presentations,flair &amp; exquisite tastes.<br/>This is the first time I have been compelled to review a restaurant. Everything was exceptional.<br/>Grilled prawns were a real treat.

This is our favourite place to dine! They have so much nice food! I recommend the prawns with the sauce that they do for them! Everyone should go here!!!!!

A group of us went tonight and had the most amazing time. We all had the chefs special and it was brilliant. Brilliant food and the best entertainment. I highly recommend the Teppanyaki Takao restaurant and can guarantee that we will be back there again. I can now see why all my friends have raved over the place for so long.

If Japanese food is your thing, or you haven't yet tried it - this place is for you.Friendly, attentive staff with professional but entertaining Japanese chefs.Excellent food with a good range to choose from. This restaurant is much better value for quantity, quality and price than at least four others in Christchurch. We try to dine here at least once a month and have introduced many to share the enjoyable experience

We went there first about 6 weeks ago, have been back about 4 times... You could say we like it! Friendly staff, great food, and some entertainment. Sit at the cooking tables, and get your food fresh off the hotplate. Food is ready quick, and tastes fresh! Little bit of showmanship in the preparation.

We went to Teppanyaki Takao last night with a group from work. I had not been before and it is now my favourite thing. The staff were so customer focused and attentive, the chef was very talented. The flavours were amazing and cuts of meat, top quality. not just the food, but the entrainment of this style of food is awesome. Very enjoyable night and already planning on going back there with friends and family

We have been here three times and have never been disappointed. The seafood special is our favourite with a good blend of fish, shellfish and vegetables. As you would expect from a teppanyaki restaurant, the chefs deliver the goods, both in standard of cooking and entertainment. Four stars is a very good rating, it's pretty hard to dig a five star rating out of me.
