Review 3 Cows Bar & Restaurant - Kaiapoi

We have visited this restaurant many times already. I like the way how they cook the pork. Priced reasonably. Very yummy.

We went for dinner earlier this evening and were met by very pleasant staff, who seated us promptly in a private booth. We ordered our drinks which arrived very quickly. Our entrees were served quickly and the food was beautifully hot and tasty. I ordered a main course of lamb's fry and bacon, with garlic bread and the restaurant's specialty sauce,a combination of onion, mushrooms, and some subtle but delicious herbs and spices. It was the best I have tasted, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My two companions ordered a lamb loin, and the other a chicken salad with croutons. The meals were all served quickly, and were superbly prepared and cooked and well presented. The portions were generous, to the point where one of my companions asked for a take home box for part of her salad, to leave room for dessert. She then had a chocolate icecream sundae which she loved, while I devoured my creme brulee, which was amazing in itself with the toffee topping perfect and the vanilla base delicious, but to cap it all, it was served with a small bowl of icecream and raspberries. There are excellent bar facilities and a wide range of drinks, both alcohol and non, on offer. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming and the chef needs to be carefully guarded. A treasure like that must be kept here. I will definitely be back and would advise both locals and visitors to go there. You will not be disappointed. The cafe is off a small carpark over on the northern side of town, not easy to spot, but once you find it, you won't want to forget where it is. Thanks Three Cows

Service was friendly but not great. At no time did they tell us about the specials or anything like that. The food however was amazing. The atmosphere is nice. So five stars for the food and four for the service.

Went on a Saturday night was very full, however staff where still very nice and food was great. To give it five stars I would have expected to see more than three staff on for how busy it was. Overall a good family restaurant.

Had the sweetcorn fritter stack. Very delicious . Great service and friendly staff. Too full to have a dessert unfortunately. All my friends enjoyed their meal too. We'll definitely be back

Lovely meal and loads to choose from on menu. We all enjoyed our meals and there was also a kids play area which was greatly appreciated by us all and my grandchild. I had best scallops (although abit small) & prawns in lovely sauce. Will be returning. Thanks alot.

We have been to the Three Cows Cafe in Kaiapoi numerous times and have never been disappointed. Their food has always been off very good quality and both my husband and myself have never had a reason to complain. Their service has always been great and their staff very friendly. We will continue to choose to eat at this place regularly. I would like to take this time to say a special thanks to Carissa she has been fantastic in helping with a query we had. You have gone the extra mile Carissa just as your restaurant does for the customers. Thank You

We booked thru 1st Table and were really impressed with the meal The servings were large. The spare ribs were really full of meat and the pasta was full of chicken and bacon Also very family friendly with a lovely little play area

The Three Cows is a great restaurant for the entire family. Its has a great menu and very nice workers. The food in the restaurant is delicious and is always quick. The restaurant has an extensive drinks menu that will quench anyone's thirst. Overall a lovely experience

We recently had a group booking and without exception all of our table commented on their meals being incredible. Nobody had to wait for their meal, it was cooked beautifully, the flavours were amazing and the service fantastic. Would highly recommend.

We came here for lunch, the food was served pretty quickly but we were very disappointed with the quality. I ordered the lamb which tasted disgusting, it was a processed frozen meat not the standard you expect in a restaurant. My partner ordered a rare medium steak but it was cooked inconsistently through from raw to medium. Service felt as though we were an inconvenience to be there. Definitely not worth the prices and we won't be returning.

The food was delicious, lovely relaxed atmosphere and great staff...thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and will be back!

Very disappointed! Am on a special meal plan at the moment for a variety of reasons and we thought this would be a great place to eat as I could have a salad and steak. Steak was average but the salad was pathetic! It was no more than a pub meal garnish! Sorry I wont be recommending to anyone!

Your staff need training on food allergens before they kill someone. Despite checking with you regarding my options before coming, ordering a supposedly dairy free item off your menu, removing all sauces and dressings just to be safe and informing the waitress that I have a dairy allergy, the meal I was given caused both my tongue and face to swell. The only saving grace was thankfully I gave most of it away. I will not be back.

Went for dinner here tonight and everything was FANTASTIC!!! Great entree, main, desert and cocktails!!!!! Totally recommend. Restaurant itself was a tad cold but everything else was great.

Food was wonderful. Beautiful eating experience. � However the toilets were terrible. They truly need to sort the smell. �. We will be back.

Awesome food and service! It might have been one of my favorite meals from our two week trip to New Zealand!
