Fantastic experience! Got their seafood platter at $120 , includes their signature blue cod, lobster and hand cut fries. Saw them bringing in and cutting fish at the back, super fresh and the service was lovely
We went for dinner. It was super fresh. Bluecod fish&chip and crayfish were yummy. Next day we came back again for lunch order 3 crayfish and bluecod. You shouldn’t miss it.
The crayfish feast was delicious. Crayfish was live in the tank on-site before cooking and was served in melted garlic butter. The blue cod, scallops, prawns and mussels were served battered but were easily separated to eat them plain.
They serve one of the best Grilled Crayfish I have had. It was fresh and well cooked, just nicely cooked. We also had the battered blue cod and battered scallop which was a nice addition to regular fish and chips. The place has ample seats outside.
Fish and chip shop which also does crayfish. I had some blue cod fish and chips and crayfish. Both were absolutely delicious. We managed to get one of the two tables inside to eat in. Tables are tucked away in the corner. Place isn't really set up for dining in. You're better off taking out but we were in a campervan on a rainy day and didn't want to eat inside the camper and get it smelly! Place is a little grubby inside but the food is amazing so take out and you'll love it!
Maybe the best fish&crayfish we had in NZ.
You can eat outdoors, but the seagulls would want some too.
Takeaway is also a popular option
Our first stop to try Crayfish and we were very impressed!
Good value for money. Friendly service with a smile. You have the option of choosing the live crayfish that you want them to cook for You. Just add 15 more minutes for that awesome experience.
No frills takeaway oriented place. With tables outside if you care to sit and eat.
Quite a variety of other seafood options as well. Done fresh and done well. We tried the Crayfish with a garlic dressing and it was fabulous.
Hands down best fish and chips ever. If you want cheap as chips (pardon the pun) it’s not for you but value is outstanding. Choice of fish, crumbed option for the good lady, chips with crunch. Friendly service.
The crayfish was amazing. We chose the biggest one on display and it was cooked to perfection. Succulent, tender, and so fresh. No fancy sauce needed. We also ordered oysters, blue cod and chips. Equally good. Quite popular with the locals as there were people lining up to order and some are waiting for their takeaway. A selection of drinks are available too, and was really impressed that they offer sugar free drinks. We don’t mind that food is served on paper plates. Crayfish on the roadside, kiwi-style. 😅 The staff are nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable . (perhaps the crayfish (80$) is on the pricey side but it was worth it).
Nice spot to enjoy some fish and chips ! Prices were good and you could tell that all the fishes were really fresh ! Staff was really helpful and gave us nice recommandations for activities to do in the surroundings !
