The young man on counter was very responsive and friendly. Big smiles for everyone. Food was great would suggest fish bites but fish was nice. Would return again.

Great service, lovely guys, even suggested we try chicken salt on it for free which was really tasty! Sadly they were out of blue cod but they're popular for a reason. Best to get fish here as there's only one shop in town and there's always a queue for that. Also this has great opening hours (see photo).

Really great staff & fish n chips were lovely, very crispy & light batter & Elephant fish was superb. Well done team! We will be back next time we are in Kaikoura & recommend you to other traveller's. Close to NZMCA Park makes it even better!

We had the fried Blue Cod and Gurnard and they were super tasty. Prices were good and the owner couple were friendly. One of them is an ex-commercial fisherman so you know it’s gonna be good!
Also note that it’s under new management as of several months ago so take the older reviews with a grain of (chicken) salt.

Excellent fish and chips. Not greazy or oily, perfect. I had the Gurnard, perfectly cooked. Granddaughter had a hot dog, loved it. Both staff very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Best fish and chips in Kaikoura at amazingly affordable price. Fish was really fresh and the batter so delicious! We devoured our food in minutes. Awesome service too, I think if you bring your catch they can have it fried for you as well.

What a lovely little place. Charming interior decor, clean kitchen, super friendly staff and a big heater on the wall. The chips were next level! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, delicious.
Handy stopping spot 2 hours from Picton. Clean Public toilet over the road.

Had the most amazing blue cod and chips lovely golden brown and very moist also the spring rolls were the same even though they were very busy cooked our order with perfection could not fault or the amazing service well done guys you deserve a big pat on the back keep it up will definitely be back

Having been in Kaikoura twice over the last few years, THIS is my place of choice for fish & chips....I've been here under both ownerships, & absolutely LOVE the food....it's ALWAYS my last stop before leaving Kaikoura, & my first stop coming in....AWESOME food....
