Great lil pub, weather was alil stormy, n wanted to go back in land, n not worry bout the ferry trips, otherwise on a sunny day its ferry ride enjoyable
Fairly “rough and ready” but after cycling 75km it was a welcome site for snacks (food available) and some beer (which is always good!). Great break and not far from the ferry to Rawene.
I loved the old logging photos on the wall.
Awesome place with a nice vibe. Stopped here for a late breakfast before catching the car ferry. Limited cabinet food but what there was looked superb! I ordered the smashed avo and wasn’t disappointed. They also made a mean americano!
Really chill sitting outside underneath the veranda watching the world go by.
Sometimes you stop to have a meal at a place you have never been to, without any great expectations and you receive the most magnificent surprise👌
There's no price tag that can be placed on the value to the business of the friendliness of the lovely person who took our order.
Quite witted and never missing a beat she took our orders, suggested favorites and nudged us to add drinks and did so in such a pleasant manner that I wish I could eat for two just so that I could try the other dishes on offer.
I had the suggested chicken salad while I salivated at the thick beer burger patty that my friend muched as he devoured his burger and chips...my healthier chicken option was 'tasty as', crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
I'm blabbering on now but I just want to say how much I enjoyed the food and what food value for money it us and what an amazing place it is... stop over, taste their food, meet the delightful lady at the desk and know that your day will be better for having stopped there (the locals know that and they love ordering from there)👍👍👍
Just stayed two nights in the hotel; very affordable, comfy bed and excellent shower etc. Friendly staff — Trish, Russell & Carissa. Breakfast at the café was a highlight: My 'Stacker' with poached eggs, hash browns, spinach & salmon on artisan toast was sensational ... one of the best-value breakfasts you will find. Kohukohu is a peaceful, friendly haven beside the utterly beautiful Hokianga harbour.
Best cheese scone in the North Island. And a hell of a friendly clientele, especially on Country and Western club days :-)
Friendly staff and just great food and coffee. Can't wait to come back for the Hokianga flounder meal.
Lovely little place to sit, chat, laugh while having a coffee and something to eat while looking at the beautiful vista. Highly recommend. Kohukohu is worth a visit.
Great place, good food ,locals look after you, and the staff so welcoming. Can cat ferry to Rawene for senic views cafes and good eats. Loved it.
Arrived here by accident when attempting to follow directions from Kaitaia to Auckland. Good coffee and service.
Great local pub and cafe. Cafe opens early in the morning during the Summer. It has outdoor seating overlooking the Hokianga Harbour. Snacks are available in the bar with roast meals on Thursday evenings, which is also Pool Club evening. Thursday evenings include free pool tables, meat and other raffles. Neighbours come over from Rawene and the last ferry is at 8pm.
