Great coffee and an astounding fruit tart. Yum yum. Elegant surroundings and lovely service. A great find in historic Lawrence. We are about to bike to Beaumont so will work off the fruit tart.

First time there. Very pleased. Food first rather than coffee and scone just heated enough and not far too hot like many places. Husband enjoyed his home-made cheese and mince pie as well. Will go back.

This is my place to stop if I'm ever in Lawrence. The indoor and outdoor seating are both comfortable. A variety of food can be ordered from the kitchen or selected from the cabinet. The area to queue can get badly cramped when its busy, but it soon opens up as the service is fairly quick. It's nice during the winter months as the fire is usually roasting away.

I read a few reviews about people saying that this place made the "best coffee in NZ" and thought that it's just the generic comment when rating a cafe. I had a coffee yesterday and it was actually one of the better coffees I've had. I never leave reviews but thought I'd take the time for this place.

We come here often - in fact it's our favourite place to eat in Clutha. Consistently good, well priced and delicious. Options to please everyone, including the kids. Always spotless and with lovely staff. Nice warm fire in the cold months.
