Review Oli & Mi Kitchen - Lower Hutt

This is a classy, delicious, intimate restaurant in Petone, across the harbour from Wellington. Our group had beautifully cooked scallops, beef, duck, antipasto and desserts. The food was beautifully presented and portion sizes were good. The wine list is small but well chosen, featuring interesting whites and reds from Portugal and other parts of Europe. Staff were a bit stressed but service was good. I will definitely be back as there were many other dishes on the menu I'm keen to try.

Lucky we called and made a booking for 3, even 8pm dinner it’s still all full for the tables. Good food (very detailed and good portions for the price) and service as always (changed menu) and enjoy the 🥘 meal and family time. Highly recommend.

Awesome service, we came on a Friday night and they were busy but happy to seat us. Great service, very friendly and attentive. We had the prawn ravioli and the beef Wellington. Both delicious and flavorsome, the beef Wellington cooked to perfection 👌 also delicious cocktails. Would definitely go back.

We loved this place. We had a great experience. The service was well balanced between friendly and professional. The food was very tasty too a fusion of Asian and European flavours. It is so hard not to have a 3 course meal. Every dish sounds amazing on paper, and they are.

Beautiful atmosphere, really enjoyed my time here. The food was beautiful and exciting, staff were super friendly and inviting. I feel as though an extra runner/server of some sort would have definately helped during the dinner rush but either way I will be returning, especially for the dessert menu😁

Went out for dinner with the folks, the food was spectacular. Delicious vege options and they will upsize entrees to main sizes. My only disappointment was I couldnt fit in desert. It's not cheap, but worth every penny.

Liked it a lot! The best part is the atmosphere, each table is kind of private as the restaurant has multiple rooms. The food is pretty good, have only sampled some from the new menu, but I loved the old menu and what I had (lamb followed by lemon merengue) was tasty

If you are looking for a cozy homey place with exquisite cuisine and wine list and high class service, go to Oli&Mi. We love good and interesting food but we don't fancy fancy places. This one was a perfect match. Duck and fish were amazing, but the desert was even better. Highly recommend!!

Delicious food. Highly recommend the tasting platter. Went with our 12yo foodies and they loved it too! We had three courses and it was all beautiful.

Not big but very nice set up. Tried two dishes from lunch menu quite happy about them. Will come back for dinner another day. Recommend house made soda for non alcohol drinker.

A brilliant spot to go for some quality fare! Chef is consistent and presents some amazing food. Love the fact that it’s an old dentistry, but this is far from a place to be afraid of. We paired our meal out with the cost cinema just down the road. The vegetarian dishes are just as spectacular as the regular fare!

We had an outstanding meal here from entree to dessert 🍰.... And super service with the 🍷 wine.. We were brought wine over even when we had ordered a bottle 🍾 just to make sure it was suited with our main we had ordered. Amazing!!!!! Entrees were amazing and dessert was to die for. We will definitely be back

Attentive staff who kept our water glasses full. 😋 Delicious starter for 2 followed by mains with sides of seasonal greens. We booked through First Table for $10 and got 50% off all our food items.

OMG! Fine dining in Petone. Simply delicious food, that is well presented without being pretentious. The staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and happy to help. Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Extremely wonderful experience at OLI and MI tonight. Relatively quite and romantic setting, brilliant service and amazing food. We had the owner/manager as our waiter who gave us a lovely experience and made us feel incredibly comfortable dining there. Would highly recommend OLI and MI ��

The food itself is presented well but it totally lacks flavour or any kick. The sharing platter was nice but for the price the dishes need to give a bit more wow factor. I would have liked to see more options too.

Divine food, jovial host made my parents and I feel like we’d been personally invited, stylish surroundings. Couldn’t fault a thing about any of the dishes, the flavours are well thought-out and perfectly complementary, and while there is a fine-dining delicacy and panache to the meal, there is enough food and balance on the plate that the additional sides we ordered weren’t really necessary. The fact that good wine can be ordered by the half-carafe is a nice touch, too. Will definitely be back!

First time for me and my friends. We definitely loved the tasting platter that was our favourite. I had the rack of lamb which was delicious. Dessert was the chocolate fondant was just a bit to overpowering for us quite strong but other than that really enjoyed it. The service was fantastic we had a great waitress really friendly. I would definitely go back again.

The dishes have been constructed around very subtle and smart fusion decisions, and the presentation is delightful. The desserts are whimsical, especially in comparison with the serious other courses. Lastly the service is engaging, articulate, and enthusiastic! Had a superb time here!

Nice neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately food didn't arrive at same time for both entrees and mains. Would be good to have more wines by glass at lower prices ($10-$12). Tasting platter is great value however and pork fillet main delicious. Would definitely go back as service very friendly and welcoming.

We celebrated a family birthday here last night and must say the food, service and ambience was superb, they also provided a stunning array of gluten free food for coeliacs. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a fantastic meal with my colleagues at Oli and Mi. I was impressed with the service and the food was absolutely fantastic. Great recommendation on the wine from Martinborough's Coney Estate Piccolo Pinot Gris. That sticky date pudding was devine.

This restaurant was recommended and we decided to try it. I am glad we did. Our entrees were fresh and delicious and the desert was outstanding. The staff was also very friendly and provided information about each meal.

Wonderful experience at Oli & Mi! Staff were very attentive, friendly and went above and beyond for my partner and I. In particular, it was my partner's birthday and the waitress lady really helped out with the surprise cake and provided champagne, on the house. Food was also amazing, just a small issue that the Angus beef we got wasn't completely 'medium rare' but other than that it was still amazing occassion!

Came here with a freind to celebrate his birthday, wait staff were accommodating friendly and very knowledgeable. Food was yummy and did not disappoint enjoyed the option of sharing platter as it ment we could try all the tapas. Yummy house made sodas!

Ordered takeaway online via deliver easy. Pork and cabbage dumplings and beer battered fries. Dumplings are steamed (not a problem for me) best dumplings I’ve had for Lower Hutt/Petone region the sauce is like a sweet soy sesame and is to die for. Fries were perfect, piping hot, crispy/crunchy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. Only thing is they didn’t come with a sauce but I’m well stocked up with aioli and tomato so this wasn’t a problem for me. Bonus points as it was even delivered 10mins early!!

This pl is has amazing service. The food was delicious - highly recommend trying this pl. Had the sharing platter,duck breast, market fish,greens,potatoes,then for dessert- Snow White meringue & chocolate ganache.

Delicious food and homely personal experience!! We had the fish of the day which was beautifully cooked and the seafood paella which was flavourful and authentic. Great customer service, would definitely return

We came here after not being able to dine in at another restaurant, but we are so glad that we chose Oli and Mi! The tasting plate for 2 people is amazing, we love it. The portion of the main is big too. The staffs were so friendly. They did their best to accommodate us and ensured that we had our food in time as we were in hurry for our movie. The place is very cozy, ideal for dinner date night! We will be back soon :)

Absolutely loved the food! I tried almost everything on the menu with a party of 6 and we were so taken back by the flavoring and fulfillment of each item. Our drinks were also bursting with flavour made by a waitress named Laurens wbo was amazing to us. The other staff were also very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. With every dollar. Loved the paella and the entree platter 😍😍 will definately be back!!

Delicious, delicious, delicious. The scallops were melt in the mouth and could almost be described as fluffy, the duck breast was moist and succulent, the espresso creme brûlée actually was espresso tasting and topped with marscapone which cut through the sweet flavour. <br/><br/>Presentation of every meal was a work of art.<br/><br/>Food was a little deconstructed for my personal taste but it worked.<br/><br/>The staff were sweet and fresh and seemed energized to be there, even at 8.30 pm on a Sunday night.<br/><br/>Venue was warm and inviting with a street view and candles. Perfect for a romantic dinner, but I would happily go there any time.

Delicious food and amazing service. Started off with the share platter and then ordered the black angus steak and whole market fish with some sides and we were very impressed! Highly recommend!

Tasting platter was awesome. The staff were great and attentive. Deserts were Devine. Favourite starters were the prawns and scallops. Chocolate fondant for desert a must for chocolate lovers.

Great service visiting for lunch today. We had the W.O.A.P. festival dish, this was amazing and we were treated to the dinner dessert. Would highly recommend, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Lunched here a few days ago.<br/>Totally underwhelmed and quite disappointed with our first visit to this highly reputed restaurant.<br/><br/>Very expensive for what we ordered. $20 for my Venison small plate. Shocked to find that that there were only just three tiny pieces of cured venison on the plate, and it was so very salty to eat too!! Though it was very attractively presented, with pretty colours all around, I still felt pretty hungry afterwards!! 😣😦<br/><br/>However in contrast, my wife's $20 Paella dish was very nice and tasty. 😉<br/>The waitress was kind and civil.<br/><br/>We look forward to lunching here again, and maybe choose something a little different.😊

Wow. This place is amazing. The atmosphere, the table settings, the incredible service. The wine knowledge and food knowledge was out of this world. The food..... I was having dreams about it. Everything was just 10/10. I highly recommend the venison, the prawns, the whole fish and the scallops. They cook seafood just perfectly. Great range of international wines and delicious nz craft beers. Ask about how the restaurant got its name. This place is a must for everyone.

To begin order the mixed entrée platter; You will not regret it. (Considered ordering another as main)<br/><br/>Overall the food is excellent, worth the cost especially as portions are filling. The staff and chefs are extremely friendly. I have tried the pork, beef and snapper. Each is accompanied by a well designed plate both in terms of look and flavor, wine can be easily pared for those so inclined.<br/><br/>Only let down was the desert I got which was just a little to dense. But still one of the best I've ever had. <br/><br/>A solid 4.9

First proper meal out having moved to Petone. Fantastic food, rewarding experience. Super friendly staff and fresh menu, really good flavors, varied menu and great atmosphere. If you enjoy fine dining, have a celebration or date in mind you will have a good time. Book in advance!

The food was so exceptional from tapas to dessert, I told my family I would write a 5 star review on every possible foodie site. I loved<br/>The flavour of the kale with my lamb, oysters were fresh and every aspect of the brûlée was smooth with the caramelisation on the top! Officially my new favourite restaurant in NZ

Wow. Went for a special family birthday dinner. We honestly couldn't fault this place. The service was fantastic, really friendly and welcoming. We had a tasting platter of tapas to start, and despite the menu stating it was 'for two' they graciously offered to make it to suit our party of three. Delicious chicken karaage, salt and pepper tofu, Harissa lamb ribs, and the best - stuffed jalapeños with a delicious sauce. The pork dish we chose for our main meal was perfectly cooked and delicious. Couldn't go past the dessert, beautifully presented and divine, my chocolate fondant was perfect and my family all enjoyed their selections too. I'd love to see some mocktails on the menu (I say that everywhere I go!). Oil & Mi Kitchen is on the more expensive end of the dining spectrum so it would certainly be something we reserve for special occasions but we were so impressed and would love to visit again.

So happy to have a quality asian fusion restaurant in the Hutt area! Lamb and beef dishes were excellent, seafood was very fresh save for the crab which we think was frozen (expectedly). Service was friendly and attentive.

Had the tasting platter and the lamb spare ribs from the Tapas menu. Nice , fresh ingredients and great flavours. Spare ribs are a must try! Service was really good, although I would have preferred not so many visits to the table by the waiter.

Dined at this little treasure of a place in Petone earlier. Loved the unique menu (European and Asian fusion), the delicious food (we highly recommend the tapas), and the outstanding service!
