We made an order over the phone. So good to hear they could do our order for our beautiful children at AOG Waiwhetu White Sunday practice. They so deserved their little treat and Blue Island Seafoods even packed each order into their own packs! Fantastic helpful lady who took our order. This is such a great Fish and chip shop! Not many offer seating inside which makes it the perfect place to stop for lunch! Delicious tasting deep fried food! You can't go wrong stopping here!

Fav takeaway fish is the best!!however slow and off with their wait times. I preorder before I leave from Thorndon, they usually say a 20 minute wait on a Friday however 30 minutes later still waiting. If they sort out the assembly line and get food out quicker would honestly be 10/10..

The best thing about Blue Island is the consistency of the fish ......its NEVER EVER Fishy.....its just the best. Best Fish n Chips in Wellington by a country mile!

It was open too late. I was there 10am but it was not open till 11.30am. But there f/chips n everything there is awesome. I love it. I always dine in n take out

Interesting how there's been no reviews for just under a year. The 11-month old 5 rating must have been 'the good ol days'.<br/><br/>I can't speak to their burgers or Chinese, but those that just want an old-fashioned feed of F & C need to look elsewhere. There seems to be two other options in Moera alone.<br/><br/>I ordered 2 fish, hot dog and chips. The fish was the worst I've had in years. Small pieces, probably more accurately called gujons, and what "fish" was inside was dry and floury. Gave it to the dog who declined, and this is an animal with marginal culinary standards given what he licks.<br/><br/>Tried the hot dog which was ok - it's hard for even the least-caring F & C shop to stuff them up. <br/><br/>The chips were flaccid and lacked any sort of crunch -  the whole meal needed 4-5 more mins in the fryer. I was the only one there at 4pm on a Friday. What was the hurry?<br/><br/>12 bucks of food consigned to the wheelibin. Top effort guys. <br/><br/>2 start rating. One for the hot dog, and 1 for the cleanliness of the place. There are worse places to eat.<br/><br/>You can get a better feed in Wainui than Blue Island, and that's quite an achievement.

Great value and great service every single time. The burgers are pretty good especially the fish burger. Tastes like fresh ingredients in everything they do and good helpings as well. The egg foo yung and the fried rice are very tasty with a great balance of veges and meat.<br/><br/>The only minuses are the wait times so calling ahead is a MUST and even then it can be so busy you'll still have to wait a bit. The other downside is the chips which are hit and miss with the portions and salt distribution with too much or too little.<br/><br/>Definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for quality Chinese and yummy burgers.

Great food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken chow mein and they add extra noodles at no extra cost. Great service and very well priced for what you get. Recommended.

Had the fish burger today, at 2 for $8.90 it's such good value for money! The fish tasted fresh and the burger was delicious. The chips weren't that good otherwise would've been a 5 from me.

When I am out that way I always buy fish and chips from here. It pays to phone the order through first as every time I've been, there is always a load of people waiting. Love their family packs; although yet to try the burgers.

This is our choice for fish n chips in Lower Hutt.<br/>Food is always good and fresh. Always well packaged, and the burgers fantastic and big!!<br/>I can happily recommend this place, as we have to drive past 5 other closer f'n'c shops to get to this one.

Tried a fish burger and chips. Burger was large and had fresh lettuce, onion, tomato. lots of fish in it, because so many bites were purely fish it would have been improved with a bit of salt. The chips had a slightly greasy taste, perhaps some people prefer that flavour but it's not too my taste as much. I'll visit again to try one of the beef burgers (Always the biggest test of a fish and chip shop's burger menu). Clean shop and good service.

fish n chips and premises staff are always consistent, this is so important, knowing what you are getting ea time, I love the quality and the crispy fish batter and decent size fish servings....could poss  be a tad more generous with chips

Recently visited after seeing it reviewed in the Hutt City newspaper, the reviewer mentioned "universe sized" burgers and I had to try it... The king fish burger was the LARGEST BURGER I HAVE EVER EATEN. Not sure how many pieces of fish were in there, I would say 2-3. Bigger than burger wisconsin and burgerfuel, and it was 2 for $8.50! With nice bread, salad, tartare sauce, tomato &amp; onion, if you like delicious burgers and want value for money, go here and get a burger! All under $10!

My goodness, went to this shop and was absolutely amazed at how nice the food was, burgers are huge and reasonably priced .... Will definitely go back and also recommend others to visit, thanks Blue Island Seafoods for a wonderful meal .... A++++

As far as takeaways goes this place is one of the nicest. We don't get fish and chips very often but when we do this little shop is the best. food is fresh, never burnt and never greasy. :)

Seriously try the chicken burger and pay a bit xtra and get a slice of pineapple in it - OH MY GOD, the taste is amazing and it's HUGE - puts other burgers to shame
