Visited for brunch - a bit challenging to find as it’s inside a greenhouse but there is a little patio outside as well where we sat. Service was prompt - you order at the indoor counter. We tried two flat whites which were beautifully poured and decorated. I ordered two poached eggs with toast, herbed mushrooms and bacon - really delicious! Husband ordered the burger which was HUGE - two could have split it. It had a mountain of fries, and included a huge patty, veggies, a fried egg and super thick bacon. He only ate 2/3 of it. Larger portions than we expected but the presentation was superb.
We were visiting family in Wellington. They suggested somewhere we had not been before for food and plants/home bits (California/Glasshouse Cafe). We had a fantastic feed. Social Distancingg seems to have been taken on seriously by all customers; the business aided this with markers and sanitisers etc... anyway back to the food.... I have photos (please observe. My usual test is the 'empty plate' test... The Glasshouse Cafe passes with flying colours. excellent access and parking too (onsite)
Food was excellent top marks for serving food that was easy for me to eat.the staff are fantastic I don't live in Lower hutt but visit on the odd occasions thank you for helping me enjoy an already enjoyable stay with friends.awesome chefs awesome waitresses.i give you 8 out of 5.
One of the highlights of visiting family in Wellington is getting to breakfast inside California Garden Centre in Fairfield. Thus time around their resident cafe has rebranded to The Glasshouse and the service was lovely like before.
I thoroughly enjoyed my scrambled Eggs Benedict with bacon with a soy latte and oat plum crumble. The ambiance is relaxing and chilled and it’s a beautiful place to past the morning by. Highly recommended!

A quick visit for a coffee ☕️ and top class savouries and cakes. This cafe is very busy so getting takaway cofee is slow process, but worth the wait. The busy cafe is situated with the California Garden Centre with plenty of parking
We had a very enjoyable brunch at the Glasshouse cafe! Staff were super friendly, the food was fresh and delicious with a nice variety of menu and cabinet food, lovely environment in the garden centre!
Wish I had thought to take a photo of the delicious cake a friend and I shared. Food is really tasty, huge portions so it's definitely value for money. Recommend a visit 👌
Very nice Banana choc muffin.. beautiful Mocha.. awesome staff with alot customers to serve.. very popular eatery. Staff are kind, considerate and professional.. thank you very much for a great experience.. the owners should be very proud of their staff
