Loved the lamb shank pie here and liked the pork belly pie. Wish it had come crackling for that extra flavour and crunch.
A little on the expensive side but worth it in my opinion. Unique fillings, perfect pastry (for me). Daily Bread is just around the corner but this place has QUALITY all over it.
It's 2023 now and still THE BEST!!!
Honestly don't know which pie I like best. Each one is unique and delicious. Living in Upper Hutt I go out of my way to come here and encourage anyone who will listen to do the same

Awesome pie shop, so much variety, pork and puha is a winner, same with pork belly pie. Lamb shank is a good one too, sort of a tomato stew filling...it's not a gourmet pie shop but it is made with love. The staff are so friendly and the chicken burger is also great. Highly recommend.
When I moved to the Hutt Valley at the start of 1989 I was told if I want a really good pie go to Real Meat Pies. I have done this ever since and every pie has been up to their standard, Steak and Mushroom is my favourite.

These guys do a great pie! Great range of delicious flavours and combinations. A recent star was Pork Belly and I still love the good old Steak & Kidney. I probably prefer my pastry a bit lighter than this, but that's just me - for others these "more substantial" contributions will be the bees knees.

Best steak cheese bacon pie I've ever had, and the coffees are excellent as well. Highly recommend.
Edit: since change of ownership, the pastry has changed and is now too thin to finish a pie without it falling apart. Suggestion to owners, pls get your pastry back to the quality it used to be.
