Great place to chill. I'd recommend this place. Food's good. The beef dinoburger is pretty filling. The deep fried bun's rad but the only exception would be the patty. It's not that it's terrible but it's not the usual beef patty you'd expect. The texture and taste is more like sausage meat.

Delicious and fresh food. Cafe style ambience. Great service. Waitress was very attentive and checked back a few times to make sure we are happy.

We had a great experience dining at the Zoo Eatery, food was delicious Our waiter was very patient, food was amazing!! I had the spicy shellfish pot and husband had the cut of the day which was the Eye fillet and we had a couple of side dishes, I highly recommend the prawn dumplings, All dishes were decent portions, we will definitely return!! This place is newly opened so we opted to try it since their menu was quite interesting. Its located in Botany Junction between Spices and Celcius so not too hard to find. As expected they have an animal themed decor with quite nice murals on the wall. We ordered a few things to share. We started with the popcorn karaage as well as the eel tapas and both were nice. We then had the beef wellington, the T-Rex burger, and the squid ink pasta. The pasta was nice but thought the pasta itself was a bit too al dente. The T-Rex burger was interesting since the buns were deep fried. It gave it a different flavour and texture to other burgers. The Wellington was alright since the pastry was crisp and not soggy. It did come with a clove of roasted garlic which was raw and I wasn't a fan of the super tart sauce. The Wellington also came with two sides so it was a decent amount of food. Both the kumara wedges and fried veges were nice. The food here is quite nice. The service is also very good. Sadly their dessert options are lacking and not that interesting so didn't try any.

First time trying out this place and it did not disappoint. The food here is absolutely delish. Had the T-Rex burger and it was my first time having a deep fried burger bun!!! Highly recommend this place...great service and decor.

Great service from the service lady. She was very calm and dealt with an issue really well. Top lady. Food was very good and menu very interesting, as was the "board menu". I'm certainly coming back particularly if they reduce the "corkage" charge of $10, plus gst, which is too much.

Zomato gold applies to the full menu which is really food value for money. <br/>Staff was friendly and the environment was clean and cozy. <br/>Taste of the food though was just average. Especially the clam pot, it was bland and lack in flavour. But the sliders seem quite good, we will go back in the future to try other dishes.

We came here with a small group for last minute dinner plans on a Saturday night. As it was our first time we decided to grab a whole lot of small plates to share. Everything we tried was great! Most notable was the karaage chicken, seafood chowder (sooo good), lamb bruschetta and kumara fries. Our 7 year old got the kids teriyaki chicken on rice which was a generous size. Also our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return.

Really enjoyable meal! The food is slightly on the pricier end for casual dining but I have to say the portion sizes were massive. I could’ve easily eaten that pasta for two meals. Tons of seafood in it too. Overall very tasty and would recommend.

Having visited the one in Henderson and remembering the experience to be a great one, I thought i’ll try the one out here in East Auckland since I work around the corner. We had the oxtail and the Stegosaurus burger. The Stegosaurus was really more of a sandwich than a burger in my opinion but it was awesome. They batter up the bread so it’s crumby and crunchy, while the chicken was excellently marinated. Would recommend this with the caveat being that you might have to watch your cholesterol. <br/><br/>Oxtail was flavoursome and although it didnt blow my taste bud away it was the perfect lunch for the cold weather. They also had nice decorations that go with the zoo theme which i assume is part and parcel of being one of the Zoo franchises. <br/><br/>Showstopper: They actually marinade their meat properly, decent flavour and its on Zomato Gold!<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B+

The ambiance and the vibrant paintings on the walls are lovely. Came here with a friend, we both ordered burgers and they came quickly! The beef patty in my TRex burger was juicy and the crispiness of the fried bun added a nice touch. I would definitely come here again and try out some of the small dishes!

The food was great especially their burgers. Very friendly atmosphere and such lovely interior design. Staff were very nice too. However, we ordered the lamb bruschetta and the bread was so stale and the lamb didn't seem fresh.

Went with a mate and used Zomato gold, so for the price we paid we got a heck lot of food. The pulled pork and beef burger with deep fried buns were huge and pretty good. I’d say if we were to pay full price it was probably tad expensive for what you get, but with the 2 for 1 deal it was well worth it.

You wouldn't know this is Asian fusion when you walk in, but this place does delicious Japanese food, especially Chicken Karaage. The service is great, and it's a great place to lounge about on a weekend. Some advice though: Their Small Plates aren't actually all that small, and 1 should be sufficient for a person.

We went there for lunch. The staff is friendly. We ordered a unagi tapas and a king fish ceviche. Both taste good however we do think the ceviche is a bit overpriced though.

Saturday lunch and the place was getting packed. We were attended to very well. The menu had a lot of good selections we got the TRex burger and the slow cooked beef cheeks. Both were very tasty but the Trex burger is something to go back to.

Nice place for afternoon lunch. You can soak yourself on the sun sitting outside during those chilling winter days. The staff were very polite friendly and welcomed with big smile. If you are fan of see food, it's a good place to try.😀

We tried the T-Rex and pork burger. The beef pattie is juicy and we like the pork with spicy sauce. It's yum and the portion is big too. Will definitely return.

Overall disappointing. Presentation of dishes are amazing - if you only wanted photo for your instagram. But the food itself was way too salty and oily (We had the spicy burger and a miso one) We went to Zoo on 2 occasions - first time was a Saturday night around 8pm, no one bothered to welcome us, or even check on us, so we stood there for 5mins then left. Went back again the following weekend, just wanted to try the menu since it looks pretty different. well that’s 60 bucks wasted on burgers...

Popcorn chicken was such a small portion it was well over priced. The potatoe skins? A bit misleading don’t you think. Chunks of deep fried potatoe. I pictured thin crispy potatoe bits and over priced again. Chicken Burger was bleh. I love the deep fried buns but that’s where it ended. Wasn’t a fan of the sautéed chicken. My mate enjoyed his T-Rex so maybe I’ll try the Beef Burger if I intend to over pay for a meal here again.

Great value 1+1 on food. We had fish of the day with the basil pesto sauce and the scotch fillet. Love the basil pesto sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly to my order. A great dinner spot in Henderson. Only one thing, it took too long, nearly 40 mins waiting on food while we were starving was not fun. Really hope they will find the way to speed up without affecting the quality of the food.

Dined here on Mother's Day. The gold membership wasn't valid for the occasion, instead received a complimentary glass of house wine (for my mom 👍). For the 4 of us, we ordered the seafood chowder, 1kg white wine clams, eel tapas, kingfish sliders, beef Wellington with 2 sides (bacon & cheese potato skin and stir fried seasonal vegetables). Enjoyed the beef Wellington the most, it was served medium rare wrapped in a generous layer of chopped mushrooms and beautiful golden puff pastry (and amazingly served within 20 mins of ordering!). The eel tapas and kingfish sliders are delicious too, just don't go searching for the pan fried king fish fillets (they are very very small!) Nice flavour to the white wine sauce for the clams, the garlic breads are such a great way to mop up all the beautiful sauce. first time going to use the gold membership.. friendly stuff and love the interior and unique dishes. but to use the gold membership there isn't much option very very limited. all the menus that wanted to try out was all not included on the deal , like chef's specials, and the share menus. so this was no good. the seafood chowder was ok to taste..but i would call it just creamy soup with too much carrots and peppercorns and not enough seafood, only small bits of shrimp. the bang bang chicken was tasty but that is not included with the membership deals.<br/>coffee is nice.

Food lacked flavour and I felt sick after I ate. I couldn't get past even half of my dish. Would not recommend it. The staff seemed nice but it was pretty quiet when I went in.

Came here for mother's day and was not disappointed! The food was really good and the 20 minute wait for the beef wellington which they warned us about flew by really quick! The place is nicely decorated with amazing service as they were very attentive. The beef wellington was cooked perfectly and the pastry was baked crispy and soft. The deep fried burgers had the right balance of crispy and soft and are great value. The squid ink pasta was a little bland outside of the butter and cheese taste but still overall a good dish. Definitely recommend this place!

Be aware they exclude all the larger dishes from zomato gold 1+1 on food as they call them 'platters'. Even fish of the day or steak. Which are pretty standard dishes at other restaurants. Cheeky.

We came here to try their signature Deep fried burger. They looked pretty mean and tasted ok - too salty for me but yummy for hubby. Kids meal was quite delicious as my child finished the whole bowl and service was good.

Dined here for a quick bite because next door was fully booked.No customers were around and we thought for a moment that the place was closed.The menu didn't appeal to my tastes but decided to try a few dishes. Popcorn chicken was deep fried chicken bites , bland by itself but the mayo sauce was good .Edemame beans were steamed, nothing too exciting.Fish sliders looked good and tasted good. Side of fries again, just the usual.Nothing was too exciting but I liked the cool restaurant setting..

On the menu, the venison tartare with raw quail egg & radish looks so appealing; too bad it has been taken off the menu!. We then ordered the eel tapas, Kingfish sliders & egg waffle with bacon & kina jam. The eel & kingfish were a bit fishy in taste, but still, they were delicious. I have never tried a deep-fried burger bun before until I dined here! It was such an interesting texture as it made the burger crispy and crunchy. I had the chicken burger with pineapple and although the chicken was tender and juicy there could have been more pineapple inside. I thought it would be rings of pineapple instead of little pieces - you could hardly taste it. The fries were absolutely amazing though! <br/><br/>The environment is nice as we sat by the window towards the back with the feature wall - wasn't too busy and loud when we went so it was calming. <br/><br/>We were a little annoyed at the small flies that kept popping up but nevertheless it was delicious for a very good price also! <br/><br/>Food 8/10<br/>Ambiance 7.5/10<br/>Service 6/10<br/>Price 6.5/10

Saw a bunch of great reviews in Zomato and was really excited to try out! Went with Zomato Gold but was told that the big plates to share was not part of it - but I read past reviews it was covered? Maybe I misread.<br/><br/>We still went with the Beef Wellington, also the King Fish Sliders and Eel Tapas. The big plates to share comes with 2 slides, we got the stir fry seasonal vegetables plus bacon and cheese potato skin. The stir fry seasonal vegetables was easily my favourite even though it is just a side dish and the eel tapas came second. Love how the eel tapas gives a fresh taste. The slider was salty and the Beef Wellington was very average.<br/><br/>Overall, service was pleasant and food was just ok.

This is a cute place, just 5 minutes away from where I live. Came here to try with my friends.<br/><br/>First impression, it was spacious, tidy and very clean. So we sat down and each of us ordered their signature dinosaur burgers made with real dinosaur meat.<br/><br/>Myself got the T rex, which was made of obviously T rex meat and not beef. It was really good, I like how they fried the buns which made the crunch very enjoyable. The patty was also very juicy and with the tomato relish, it became very easily to chew and swallow. It came with plenty of fries and a small salad side.<br/><br/>I also tried some of their king fish sliders that uses black buns. For me, the flavour was a little bit too salty, not sure if its because I was comparing with the prehistoric burger. The turnip pairing was also a little bit odd for me, but it wasn't bad.<br/><br/>Overall, I really enjoyed the meals and since it is close by my place. Asian fusion eatery in Flatbush, nice modern decoration with interesting animal plates and cutlery for kids. The signature burger with deep fried burger buns is very tasty and filling. The eye fillet cooked nicely and paired well with stir fry veges. The spicy seafood pot is just average, with just few mussels and clams cooked in a kimchi based broth. Overall, it has been a good dining experience, great value with Zomato Gold.

Always drive past this place and finally got the chance to try it. Wish I had tried it earlier! We got the cut of the day and the steak was cooked to perfection. Tried this restaurant last night with my friends. The environment is good and the parking is secure and easy. We ordered the beef wellington and eel tapas. The flavour was amazing, and the beef is moist and tender. The pastry outside the beef is crispy and full of the smell of cream and butter. Love this

This is our first time here and we used zomato gold with it. Saw the review and the menu and was quite excited about lunch today. We ordered the tRex burger and the squid ink pasta. It was so Delicious! Even my American hubby exclaimed the burger was so yummy! And the chef even crumbed the bun! I cracked up laughing when he said that! Haha you would thought toddler doesn’t eat anything that’s black right... I was so wrong she ate a good plate of the pasta and the fries! The pasta was good portion and they are not stingy on their serving of prawns and scallops with the pasta! The staff was friendly and helpful!

Zoo eatery puts a funky twist on Japanese flavours.<br/><br/>Want a burger? Zoo eatery takes the burger buns, covers it in panko and deep fries it. Great idea, delicious. As you bite into it, you get the crunch of the panko then the soft fluffy bun followed by the filling. It's a fantastic combination of textures.<br/><br/>The karaage wasn't bad, tasted as expected. Slightly on the overdone side but only marginally.<br/><br/>Grilled broccoli, good, has a slight bite to it but still tender. Sauce was a good balance and complimented the broccoli well.<br/><br/>Squid ink pasta, pasta was cooked well. Soft but still chewy. Decent eatery joint out at east. Burger sizes are generous with fried buns and chips which we couldn’t finish - fried buns get too filling. Review based on T-Rex as that was my dish although tried a bite of the triceratops burger which wasn’t as good. Friendly and quick service.

This is absolutely the place I was waiting for in Flatbush area. Nice ambiance and friendly staffs. It is a place for gathering. I went there last week, the menu is trendy inspired with modern Japanese concept! Beef Wellington was delicious and over descent size. The chef is using seasonal ingredients to make the daily dishes, which is guaranted fresh and in season . General saying I love this place and will come back!<br/>

The food is perfect. Didn’t expect such fine dining experience at a more than reasonable price. The service was excellent and super friendly. Children friendly provided high chair, animal looking plate and fork, kids menu with coloring paper. I will definitely go back again!

We were in the mood of trying new eatery, found this in Flatbush. The kingfish slider was our favourite of the day, beef Wellington was cooked nicely and the roasted vegetables was also delicious. The squid ink pasta was a bit blend, however the overall experience was good, will come back again next time.

First time coming to Zoo eatery and the beautiful wall art caught my eyes . Food was great and staffs are friendly. We ordered fish of the day, the snapper was fresh and it pairs very well with the mesh potato which taste like its infused with seafood. Scallop in the squid ink pasta was a bit over cook. To me, Zoo Eatery is an interesting combination of hit-and-miss. It has an original interior theme that allows it to stand out from other franchised cafes in botany junction. The staffers were friendly, food hit the table relevantly fast and my latte was decent. Having said that, they didnt offer the free item they mentioned with their social media marketing campaign.<br/><br/>The real miss came from the food. Zoo Eatery's menu is definitely different from the typical cafe menu of which you could find typical brunch items such as french toast. Instead they offer a fusion food ish menu. However, as a regular fusion food eater, I'd say their food was below the standard. It wasnt really fusion, neither was it authentic Asian nor authentic European, it was somewhere in between those two but in a less cohesive form. This new restaurant is well decorated and has a good atmosphere! There were however a number of issues. The second order our table placed (burger) was forgotten and we only found out after waiting for 25 minutes - we cancelled the order. Our third order (meat platter) was not what we expected due to the confusing menu. While the option of the meat platter was listed directly under the special meat of the day (rib eye), the special was actually a separate dish entirely but had no indication. The waitresses also seemed confused with the menu, and needed back-and-forth conversations with the kitchen. The waitresses were very kind and apologetic about the confusion, and we received a 20% discount for the platter. We were disappointed with how the meal went but it’s understandable since this is a new restaurant and there’s still some issues to iron out.

Had lunch here yesterday for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the everything we ordered. My partner had the deep fried beef burger and loved it, the chips were fresh and seasoned well. We also ordered the open dumplings to share, which were yummy and light.
