Very nice service by Rohit. Food was excellent. We had special dietary requirements and Rohit catered to all of them. We had been there for the 1st time and were pleasantly surprised by not only the friendliness of the staff, but delicious food and options as well. Definitely somewhere where you can spend quality time together with good food and great service.

Today I went for dinner and i would like to say the food was so yum. I ordered starters only, like amritsari fish, dry Goat, hara bhara kebab. All the food items were so well cooked with spices. Mint chutney was so yum. Great Customer service, highly recommended 10/10👌👌👌👌👌 I will visit again and again 😍😍😍😍

Excellent food and good customer service. They have good vegetarian options. Must try missi Roti, paneer lababdar.

I'd asked the waiter to provide me a sauce and curry free version of the red tandoori chicken pieces, and as a main of tawa chicken. I asked as on keto at the moment, no other reason, so I ate the magnificent chicken dish presented to me and enjoyed it immensely. I pointed out my specific instructions and was offered a replacement so they were ready to change to chicken tikka or add rice and naan. I opted for loss in translation. Their service has gotten a lot faster in the last year, we think they've gotten extra or new staff now.

Food was exceptional. I will be returning, for the food, not the service. The six of us that dined there created our own atmosphere.

Really satisfied with the service and food,Restaurant staff members are awesome. Loved Everything we ordered but Soya Malai Chaap and masala Indian tea were the best.😘😊

We had indo Chinese food here and loved it. Service was fast and we were served quickly. We ordered the Garlic Chicken and Chicken fried rice. We ordered gravy so it came with a side of rice. We were full at the end of our meal and pleased with the quality of food. We'll be back again.

i been there on Monday the staff was very friendly and the service was so nice , warm food very tasty highly recommended

Ordered a full tandoori chicken and literally there were only 4 pieces (which means it was only a half). Not the first time they did this considering the amount they charge for entrees. Shame!
Martin
The food is ok.. not what was expected he for price but can manage.. only complain I have is the owner is a very rude and unpleasant lady considering the amount of sale we gave she was very rude towards us and everyone that worked in.. maybe she doesn’t realise that.. she should put another friendly staff who should handle matter for her . Place has a nice clean feel and ca accomodate large crowds .. just stay clear of her or just drop ur expectation for a friendly service .. it’s hard considering you are the one paying in the end for the whole service due
Cynthia Brough
the restaurant is clean and nicely set up the front of house lady was nice to me but she not a professional hospitality person if u have high expectations in service you maybe dissappointed otherwise it was ok. i had an enjoyable time and my kai was yummy and tasty

This place is welcoming with charming service and the food better than I have tasted since I was in India.. The manager Ms. MANPREET is very welcoming and attentive to everyone even during busiest time. i always go there and recommend everyone to give it try,, you won't regret.

I honestly thought this place was gonna be good, I walked in, the place was nice and clean it was quiet. But as soon as i order my food the lady at the front was so rude no customer service greetings just an attitude!! I ask about the dinner special since they have it on the sign at the front of their restaurant! and her response was, "no we're not doing that today" 😒 okay!! (Would of been helpful if use can write the days your not doing them and the days you are doing the special) but anyways I carry on to take my order and her attitude was just bad all the way. Never coming here again sorry

I patronised this establishment on numerous occasions and each time I experience great service and an ambient environment. The staff is friendly and the menu offers variety. Additionally, the food is wonderfully prepared and presented, only to be excelled by taste. With all the previous mentioned, my patronage will continue.

Popped in here on a random chance after craving some butter chicken, the restaurant didn’t disappoint! Clean and mellow, just what you need after a long day. The waitress asked whether I’d like my butter chicken ‘kiwi style’ or ‘Indian style’ after some deliberation and suggestions I went for Indian style. I will never look at butter chicken the same again!!! Good portion sizes, heaps of meat and finally a real curry plus the naan was 🤤

Only let down was the service. They were friendly enough, brought water straight away and had a smile. However I was left alone for a good 25 minutes whilst eating and wasn’t checked on, and, there wasn’t always a member of staff in the dining room. They seemed to disappear out back quite often. Overall good experience 🤘🏼

The service here is absolutely horrible! After taking our order we were left alone for 15 minutes. Normally other indian restaurants give you papaddoms while you are waiting. Imagine waiting for 15 minutes for food and suddenly other people who came after you get papaddoms and you have not gotten anything. After a long wait we were given our starters (tandoori chicken). After this we HAD TO WAIT FOR 25 MINUTES till the server came to us asking us if we are ready for starters. THIS IS NOT A GOOD QUALITY SERVICE. A good server would ask us immediately after they notice we have had our starters. When my father asked why are some people receiving their food earlier than us, she replied in a rude manner that they did not order starters so they received their food first. Then we had to wait for a further 20 minutes to get our main course. When they changed our plate, they banged the plates down on our table and did not bother to even place the spoons for each person properly. The service provided by this restaurant is extremely low and the quality of the food is not up to a level which can make up for the service. You can just walk down to the food junction and buy food that is much tastier. Never coming back here again nor will recommend it to anyone.

There was also another family who sat close to us and they asked why servers were not cleaning up the table and why the food was taking such a long time. The server replied in a rude manner that they don't have the time to tidy the table and its a hassle when customers complain.

Really bad service —-long wait —— mising order items when we reach home —— not good customer service at all .I think staff need break ,all are rude and lazzy for service .

One night we were on our way home and felt like indian food so we quickly googled indian food places around manukau and managed to come across chawla and decided to try it. Let me just say, it was the best decision we ever made😍 My partners a chef so hes picky on what he eats, but he loved the goat curry he ordered and for me thats saying something. I ordered the kiwistyle butter chicken and it was heaven😍😍 will so be going back again😁

Ps. Didnt take any photos due to digging in straight away lol

Absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. The food is absolutely beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this for a family or a nice evening out.

It is one of the best place for Indian food...... Highly recommend..... just came randomly, very friendly staff, quick service, food is great and really fresh....

I ordered takeaway Butter chicken combo for lunch. Which also includes a Naan and a can of drink, for $12. Can't go wrong!
The Butter chicken was delicious. Hadn't had a good Butter chicken in a long time.

Generous portions of chicken and the thick sauce was to die for. And sweetness was perfect 👌
Definitely be back again :-)
Binni Bilia
First time. Really good authentic Indian taste.(We should know being Indian!) Each dish had its own flavors which is rarely the case in Indian restaurants in NZ. Naans cooked to perfection. Again quite rare. Slightly steep price but I guess that's just Auckland for you. Prawn masala, chicken saagwala n tadka daal very good. Chawlas chicken not bad. Will definitely return.
Isis Ixya Atofia
One of my favourite places to dine. They stayed open later than usual one night to accommodate my pregnant butter chicken cravings. Beautiful Indian cuisine. The vegetarian options are absolutely devine.
Ishmael Chalmers
Unfortunately we experienced a 45 minute wait on food. I have understanding when they are busy but it was less than half full and if the wait is that extensive you should inform your customers. I walked out but my friends wouldn’t follow so I reluctantly returned. The Onion Bhaji was good - tasty and crispy. The naan was pleasant. Chicken Tikka was okay. But the Chicken Dopyaaza lacked any heat or flavour, the Kadhai Chicken was too sweet and very fatty and the Rogan Josh was okay but didn’t have enough heat. The waitress we had was lovely but the rest of the staff were rude and the toilets need renovating.
Mun Clair
Had takeaways from here tonight and my whole family was left disappointed.

I tried the chicken korma. It had a really subtle flavour with zero spice even though we asked for spicy. My family said their lamb korma lacked flavour and overall was not enjoyable.

We will definitely not be returning.
Raj Dadra
yesterday ordered the cream chicken and was overly spicy when i asked for mild had to chuck it in bin waist of money never coming back to you guys ever
I just visit chawla food in manukau rubbish customer service the front and i order panner tikka it's not cooked properly when tell this thing to their staff she said you have tell first wtf
Medium_Rare
Diners be warned because this restaurant has an E for its health check. A little late for me as I didn’t notice the sign until I left the restaurant with my order.

I can confirm however that my meal was actually quite scrumptious, I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Naan, and Onion Baddje. Heaps of chicken in the tikka masala, and I loved how thick the curry was(probably not the best for my waistline), the onion baddje was crispy and flavorsome. The naan was fluffy and had great texture. I really enjoyed the food but I was annoyed by the 20-minute wait and the poor hygiene rating. However, like most things in life, you have to take a risk and fortunately I felt fine the next day.

Showstopper: Curry was full of cream. Not great for the waistline but addictive nonetheless.

Overall Grade: B

Delicious food and great service. Reasonably priced for meals and drinks for two people. Will definitely be coming back to this place. Many thanks!

Came back with 4-5 friends after few months, Food is good as usual super good taste, Staff is not very attentive and service very slow. Placed our food & drinks order but drinks came very late even they weren’t busy. Asked for popadums but never came out. Food was good though. Need to focus bit on customer service. will be Back again...

Been to this place last night , it was the worst experience i have ever had in my life , customer service was so poor , management were so rude at us , they need to learn how to treat their customer and what does customer service means , they were not even interested to take feedback and instead of apologies they were giving us silly excuses
Totally wasted of money and time and mood..
Manan Jain
Service was ridiculous 😡 Management doesn’t know how to provide good customer service and how to satisfy customers. I went their last night to celebrate my friend birthday and we were waiting at least 45 minutes for food. Everything was tasty expect the back lentils and when we complained about that she was rude. We were regular customer but they doesn’t have manners to treat. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Shyam Sharma
Ok i love the food here but having dined here more than half a dozen times it pains me to say the service and does not reflect the price, on my latest visit an hour and a half for our mains to show up, on prior visits having been told there would be individual rice were given a smaller communal rice to share. It saddens me to write this review as when we came the first time it was a good experience.
KavinJ823
This is the only Indian restaurant my husband and I will never get sick of, def one of the best in Auckland! As a non Indian myself but have travelled to India serval times before, I am really in love with their curries and found their food very authentic (Punjabi) and always consistent. Thumbs up for the chefs! The only reason I wouldn't give 5 rating is the waiters/waitress sometimes make mistakes (happened to us at least 4-5 times) either forget our orders completely after 20 mins wait or missing one curry without apologising.
Overall, we are always a fan of their curries and will recommend friends and family having a go!
Johan Kauhega Milika Taumalolo
Besides my grandmother’s house, Chawlas is the only place I come to for goat curry it’s so aromatic, flavoursome and the goat is just so tender YUM! If you love your curry HOT and SPICY request for Indian hot also I prefer the roti over naan bread I find their naan dry and too chewy.
Khaleesi
I was pretty happy with service and food was okay. I ordered the Indian butter chicken and was richly flavoured. Husband wanted goat curry but it wasnt available. Naan bread was thin and slighty burnt. Two of our group ordered vegetable options and they were all full flavoured . Waitress was very helpful. Restaurant feels clean and easy on the eye. Not so busy the night we dined there.
Aman Khosa
Ordered butter chicken it was smelly and taste yuck
I told them does not taste good please swap it
Still same taste. It was a stale taste.not going again

I came here to order takeaway and made an order and 9.53pm on a Wednesday night. The reason I ordered takeaway was because I just returned from overseas and was exhausted and didn't have energy to cook. They told me my takeaway will be 20 mins. After 25 minutes waiting outside I went back in to collect and was told 10 more minutes. After 10 minutes I went back in and the girl couldn't find my order she told me that it was mixed up and given to somebody else .. she asked me to sit down and wait which I did but I told her I can't believe I came for takeaway and it took nearly an hour. By this time it has been 46 minutes since I ordered. At 10.49pm she came out with my food and gave it to me. The lady was really nice and I understand completely not her fault. She gave me a free dessert but I didn't want dessert and I hope my food is cooked well enough because they did it really fast. Super disappointing to be honest and I was a regular customer but will be unlikely to go back!

Tasty food in this little Indian joint in Manukau.

The goat curry was amazing. Perfect blend of spices and gravy.

The staff are very friendly and also follow up after the food is served.

Definitely going back again :)

It was an awesome experience at Chawla Indian Restaurant. Staff was so good and friendly there was a girl Manpreet who took our order she treated us so well , Her customer service is second to none.
I would recommend everyone to this place.
Cheers
Happy
This is the first Indian Restaurent which I really liked it. Their food is addictive . If you go there once you would definately like to go again. Starters and mains everything was delicious but I won't recommed their dessert.
Sitting is comfortable. A great place for family.
Stephy_NakiGirl
Dined in for a group lunch. They have a $12 lunch special which is great value for a curry, naan & drink. All the dishes we tried were really good - meat was tender & flavours authentic. The only thing that was an issue was that service was incredibly slow. Took around 45 mins for our meals and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant
Amit Mahajan
The worst Cream Chicken (Chawla's Chicken) not authentic at all, Too spicy with chopped ginger and green chillies makes it even worse, should have had some smooth texture( cashew/almond paste)
recommend to not eat that dish for sure
Emy Rose
I came to have dinner with my partner today Food was awsome as malai kofta was very yummy!!service is also great here. will be definitely back again to try other mains.
Megan Meech
Fantastic staff. Very friendly and helpful with food allergies. Food was delicious and plentiful. Our family has twice enjoyed this restaurant and we will definitely be back. Thank you for the great service and the delicious food.
Hopoi
All time favourite spot for butter chicken both Kiwi and Indian style. Texture, taste, serving size is great. $12 mains Mon-Wed. Staff could work on customer service skills. Would be nice to have our water filled without having to come to the counter to ask for more and it would be nice if staff would check on us at least once during our meal. Also would be nice to get one bowl of rice for one curry instead of one bowl of rice between two. We are always asking for an extra bowl. Otherwise, love this place. Food is always great.
Priyanka Champanerkar Nayak
Food is up to Indian standard if you are looking for authentic punjabi food. Very quick service. Indian hot can sometimes be too hot for Indians too so go with medium on the spice. Only negative was that they didn't have fresh mint in the chutney and no apple mojito cocktail available twice in a row.
Chai Paani
Caught up with friends for lunch here. None of us had been here before so were pleasantly surprised when we walked in- it doesn't look it, but it's quite big inside. Well presented. We didn't go with the lunch menu and decided to order off the main menu. The Goat Curry was tasty. The Malabari fish was good too. The chilli cHicken went down a treat and what was left was mainly the chicken tikka masala that we ordered. So would say that was our least favourite. A good experience overall.

Worst Service level out of all the Indian Restaurants i have been to. Staff was rude. Will never vist that restaurant again and will not recommend to anyone i know.
Kerry Mcleary
Tried this place with my partner for the first time and I'm guttered we hadn't tried this earlier given how local it is. We had samosas for starters and butter chicken and lamb korma for main. All so delicious! Only let down was the naan bread. Both breads we got were burnt. I'll just assume it was a bad naan night as I will definitely go back.
MyselfSAVI
this is one of my everyday lunch spot. their $12 lunch meal is great. their quality, taste and service is far better than many indian restaurents in Auckland. Try their indian butter chicken that is authentic delhi style butter chicken (Place where Butter chicken was was first developed :))
Lakshmi
The food quality is very poor. We have frequented this place quiet often but today the quality has become extremely compared to all our previous visits. We ordered fish tikka for starter and the fish was extremely overcooked. We reported to the manager but they failed to acknowledge. Simply smiled and said it's the same chef and same recipe. Then with the mains the vindaloo tasted of tomato sauce and kadai chicken didn't seem like it was cooked at the same time. Kadai chicken seemed like it was heated as some parts were cold. Total waste of money. Feeling gutted.
Sanketh Gupta
One of the best restaurants for Indian food in Auckland. I stay less than 2 mins drive but never knew this one. damn!! We tried Mushroom tikka, goat curry, naan bread basket, fried rice and kulfi for dessert. They were all perfect not just taste but well presented as well. Customer service was excellent always smiling and prompt to respond.
Also they had deal from Mon to Wed, $12 mains. Definitely will be back again.
The Average Person
Pros
Great food
Warm decor - A nice atmosphere for dates
Good service

Cons
A bit of confusion on what is expected after ordering a dish e.g mains comes with rice?
Currently has a large wooden frame next to their entrance.

Tldr; Decent fine dining restaurant. Would go again.
Viren Fernandes
Great food and some of the best Indian curry outside of India. Service could have been better, place was only a half full for a Friday night yet it took a while to get the attention of a server. That's the only let down for the place.
Garry Ishar
I am from wellington and visited auckland with family and really enjoyed the food and specially customer service. Really enjoyed with family.
Manish Dadhwal
hi ..I just came back from the restaurant .I ordered a medium Shai paneer n I got the mild one . the worst thing was the service as no one asked me for water after they filled it once . when I asked for chilled water they just ignored me. so I left half of my food and came back .
I would never recommend this to anyone and not going back again.
Deen Khan
Lunch deal is a steal. Well worth it. Butter chicken was really good. Service was attentive and not overbearing. Naan was nice fluffy and fresh.
Tammy
Great food, great Resturant, classy set up. Great prices .. lunch specials which is great when you work nearby. Highly recommend this resturant
Mayur
The goat curry I ordered was hard as stone. Biryani not bad but I had better once in auckland. A good get together place as it has a nice decor but the food looks it down. Well presented and garnished dishes but lack taste. If you wanna enjoy taste it's not a place for you.
R
For entrée we had ordered Lamb Seekh and Crispy Chilli Mushroom which was ok not bad, had better elsewhere.

For mains we ordered Butter Chicken Indian Style, which tasted nothing like butter chicken. If I had one more bite of this it would probably put me off butter chicken.

And we also ordered Chawlas specialty Black Pepper Chicken, the staff should have warned us that this meal had bottles of pepper in it and you could only taste Pepper. After 1 bite of this I had started coughing and my voice was gone for few seconds, this was my worst experience in a restaurant.

The staff member noticed what had happened to me and she requested to change the Black Pepper Chicken for another main, so intead we ordered Butter Prawns.

The Butter Prawns had watery gravey with no tastes at all.

Lucky the staff was considerate that I only paid for our entrées and 2 mains only.

The Papadoms was the best tasting dish we liked.

I would not recommend this place to anyone and definitely never going back.
Sanjay Kant
What a poor service. 2 staff tonite. Taking ages for food to arrive. Huge disappointment. U will be better off elsewhere. Food tonite was also not great. Was expecting much better
Natasha
Nice interior and nice food. Staff at always friendly and love the poppadoms.
Food could be spicier - the hot option isn't that spicy.
Only criticism is that it's hard to find a parking spot in that car park.
Diogo Reck
The special menus makes Chawlas one of the most worthy restaurants I've been in Auckland.

For only $12 I had a main menu, roganjosh with lamb, rice and a yummy naan.

Strongly recommended. In addition to the great food, the service is also outstanding.
Lee
Was fabulous! Had a great time. Ambience and food was very nice. Service is fantastic. Will definately go back!!
Trish H2
First time there for the $12 lunch special with my sister. It was wonderful! The restaurant is clean with lovely decor. Toilets are clean. Staff was attentive and always filled our glasses with water. My sis ordered the butter chicken, I had Chicken Tikka Masala and was very impressed with the quality, portion size and freshness. Has to be one of the best curries I have had in ages. Will be telling my family and friends about this place. Like Arnie "I'll be back".
Veganista
Lovely interior and atmosphere with friendly staff. I ordered the kadhai mushroom which they were more than happy to veganize, and it was delicious!
Brian
Simply one of the best Indian restaurants in Manukau. We love their butter chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala is something to die for. And the price is very reasonable.
Mark Mclaren
Worst ever service and food so far seen .disappointed. Avoid....Extremely slow, curries don't taste fresh. Staff look tired although they do try to paste a cosmetic smile. Wondering if zomato can allow reviews with (-) minus signs...
Dan Browne
It was nice. Good service and yum food. The butter chicken was more runny than I'm used to but that wasn't necessarily bad. I enjoyed it equally as much. They also do free deliver in the cbd for orders over $35 which I thought was cool. Check out their website for some specials also.
Pamela Mansell
Best Indian in manukau hands down. Great service and plenty of options. Could be the best naan bread I've ever had, light and crispy. They'll also deliver if you're not far away.
Brandon
Had a wonderful dinner last evening at Chawlas. Restaurant set up is nice and was impressed with the service too despite being busy. We were two so ordered Lamb Korma and butter chicken. Lamb Korma was bit spicy for us but with real flavour and Butter chicken was also amazing not just cream we get served at most other places. One of the best in town. Will be back
Azah Forlife
I was here on a Wednesday with a friend, after work. Not busy which was a good thing. Had the fish masala and goat as mains n our starter was garlic prawns. Food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. Service was good but not outstanding hence 4 instead of 5.
Jodeci Tuake
Came here with my girlfriend and her mum, if it was just my girlfriend and I we would've walked out at the 25 minute mark. Long wait for food and drinks, staff weren't very attentive or sorry, others that came in after us got their food before us and the curry was okay but theres better elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend sorry
Foodmad
Worst ever service ever, serious delays were never acknowledged or apologised. I wrote reviews earlier and I know people who wrote truth about bad quality, stale and reheated food.but looks like instead of improving or apologising, owner is more focussed on getting 'bad reviews removed ' by hook or crook. Thus by leaving only good reviews visible and thus pushing up rating fakely. Never returning back for terrible experience. Staff also looked like struggled to smile and clearly looked like they weren't enjoying working there.
Reservation For Two
Came here to pick up some takeout after sneaking a taste of mum and dads takeout 😁

Atmosphere seemed nice. Clean looking establishment. Staff friendly.

I'd been craving a good butter chicken that didn't just taste like cream. Ordered medium and you could taste the spices, not just cream! It was delicious. Finally we have a nice Indian restaurant in manukau.

Will definitely go back again. Next time before inhaling my food, I will take pictures 🐷😊

EDITED: I CAME BACK HERE ON 12/09/16 TO SEE IF THEY COULD CHANGE MY VIEWS AND THEY HAVE. The waitress was lovely and attentive, took our orders as soon as we were ready and our meals came out 10 minutes later. The food was delicious. Butter chicken wasn't too creamy like other places (I find butter chicken that's too creamy sickening) the nann was yum too. And they still have their $12 meal deal. Thanks Chawlas for improving :) can't give higher than a 3.5 though because of the previous experience

They filter their Facebook posts, i originally posted this to their page but my review hasn't been posted up so here we go. Slow service... The waitresses were nice i guess. Waited 35 minutes for meals and they didn't come to tell us it'll be a longer wait than expected. Waitress said our drinks come just before our meals come. Got our drinks and after 15ish minutes we were still waiting for food lol. Table next to us got given their meals 15 mins before ours and ordered maybe 2 minutes before us?? We also ordered before a group of 6 men and they ALL got their food before us. I came with my boyfriend and mum so how can a group of 6 get their food before us. My boyfriend ended up having to go ask how long it would be and they said another 5minutes. 5minutes later still nothing. Food finally came and I asked if it's cooked fresh apparently it is, so I asked how many chefs are on and there were THREE. I've worked in hospitality at a cafe, majority of the time we only had 1 chef on and 2 in the weekends. They never took this long for the amount of people that are in the restaurant at the time. Food was okay but I've had better butter chicken. Naan bread was the best part. The staff were nice but the waiting time and seeing that everyone around us was getting served isn't good enough. Rated 2 for the naan, was only $12 per meal and because the staff were errrr nice i guess
Ricky
Bad experience, terrible food. Horrible service. Not friendly. Service took long. Restaurant set up is good, but inexperienced staff also adds to woes. Would not recommend.
David Parussini
Well worth a visit, read the reviews and my boys and I thought we should try it out as we have been disappointed with other local Indian restaurants out South...
Started with the entree platter, lovely tandoori chicken and lamb shish kebabs, followed by shared mains of butter chicken and lamb korma..the chicken was very rich which I didn't mind however a bit too much for my kids I suspect, however the korma was the best I'd had in memory (very tender lamb) and was very moreish...as I thought, one garlic naan between us was plenty to mop up the sauce/gravy.
The mango lassi was quenching but perhaps a little too thick in consistency...no room for desserts I'm afraid.
Felt it was good value for money, tidy dining area and toilets, friendly service..we arrived early and were out by 6:45pm; we were only 1 group of 3, this place deserves to be busier and we would certainly return.
Ps - your mints were nice.

Yesterday i went to this outlet of chawlas..i had ordered cream paneer, dal makhni and shahi paneer along with bread backets..all the currys were delicious and the quantity as well.hospitality was also very good.highly recommended

This was my very first visit at Chawla's manukau. Food was AWESOME and service too. Cozy atmosphere..... but i think need to make few more curries like butter paneer, paneer tikka masala etc.....
But all over it was great experience...Love to visit again..... Thankyu Chawla's for the best experience ever.....

Awesome delicious yummy food I had ever in Indian restaurant .. Chawlas known by their special dish it's malai chicken tika .. I have no words to describe .. Good customer service and friendly staff.. I really very enjoy their ... Thanks again for Chawals restaurant team for their good efforts ... Keep it up

The food was excellent and the service was perfect!!!! Most of the food we ordered was Indian spicy as we like. We really loved it. Everything we ordered was different than what you are used to see, and it was cooked and presented perfectly. Very good quality food, fresh and local ingredients. The restaurant is beautiful and has a very nice ambience. Really enjoyed it!!

Chawlas at manukau is one of my favourite places in Auckland! Great food, friendly and fast service. Onion kulcha is my favourite bread. The food was amazingly fresh and the chicken was tender as I ever had it. I really want to acknowledge the service which was highly attentive and friendly. Highly recommended !!
Kris Baudry
Great service, with recommendation for the Indian soft drinks which were really good. Tandoori chicken luscious, and the bhaji was scrumptious.
The chicken biryani was tasty, with large chunks of chicken.

The decor was interesting, Indian music was great, and atmosphere pleasant. Reasonable value, I would visit again.

Chawlas has to be one of the best Indian restaurants i've been to in Auckland. The butter chicken by far is one of the best i've ever had. It was creamy enough without the sickly feeling 😄👏 the chickpea curry was flavoursome, soft and delicious. I usually don't eat vegetarian dishes but this one had me eating it like there was beef flavour of some sort. This is Chawla's Manukau. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Lunch special @$12.00 includes Rice,Naan, SoftDrink. Limited Menu for Lunch both in Veg and Non-Veg (4 items each). Pleasantly surprised by the portions. Full rice, bowl of Channa Masala and really nice and soft Naan. Channa masala was Dry as it should be rather than the liquid treats found in most places. Excellent taste. Worth revisiting 👍👍👌👌

Excellent food and a great service. The staff really very good and despite of having two functions running simultaneously, the service very fast. The food was exquisite. The best chicken tikka masala I have ever had in NZ. No artificial colours or flavouring. Just real ingredients that you can taste and experience. The portions were also generous and the price very very reasonable. We would definitely come back again. Kudos.. Loved it

I have always ordered from chawlas in city and I ordered first time from them last night. Well all I can say is food was good but not matching the standard of chawlas in city. I had ordered dal makhani, malai kofta, butter naan. Gulab jamun.

Dal makhani - it was of little odd colour(pale green). From my understanding it should light brown colour. I think too much cream was added. Though it tastes fine.

Malai kofta - very rich and nice gravy. Little too sweet but was enoyable. Though few of koftas were hard and flavour less.!

Gulab jamun- probably the small hot gulab jamun I ate in my life. Very hard. Total waste of money.!

Butter naan: like any other place there naan are also very bulky chewy. I think that's the New Zealand thing. Only place in New Zealand where I found best naan so far is at Indian accent restaurant in my Wellington.

worst customer service ever... I ordered 2 veg curries and one chicken curry...but got one veg curry and 2 chicken curries and ruined our whole dinner. Even the behavior of the staff was not appropriate...she was really very rude.

if you do order at chawla please be prepared to get half of your order . i order 3 curries and 3 naans . suppose to get 3 rice with the curries but onl;y got one . when i called them up they never apologise and told me its minor mistake and they will deliver the extra 2 rice within half an hour . organised a surprised party for wife and still waiting for that rice . staff never turn up and turned off their phone too left us with dissappointment and hunger . plz check your order before pick up . staff is rude and does not care about mess ups ,
Superb food, really a place away from home that tastes like home. Good quality food with decent quantity and awesome taste. If you love Indian cuisine than this is the place in manukau that you should be somewhere at. Had a great time even though it was just a take away but really enjoyed. If you are interested what we had from there than it was creamy paneer, malai kofta, and paneer butter masala. Of course the rice were complimentary.
