Review Food For Thought - Masterton

I’ve never had a bad experience here. Lovely staff, great food & the best mochas. The only cafe I go to in Masterton. Great variety of food & drink. Self serve cafeteria style. Lots of seating, clean bathroom & books to read ☺️ Picture is a mixed berry smoothie & a caramel cheesecake, both amazing!

First time here, recommended by neighbours. I can see why they recommended it, excellent selection of counter food and breakfast food. I just wanted a bacon buttie and I was pleased that I could get one which wasn't on the menu. I wasn't disappointed it was delicious, the flat white coffee was excellent, even complimented the barista. Definitely will come back.

The food was simple food that tasted great. There wasn't a huge range of different items available, but what was there looked and tasted fresh. Staff served us with a smile and quickly. We did comment to each other that the decor didn't seem to match the food - as it kind of implied Eastern Europe bakeries, but the food was very kiwi.

Nice place. Friendly staff. Nice food. Only ? Was the cafe seemed quite dark. We visited 11ish and it was about one third full.

Enjoyed coffee there and was teased by the great range of delicious looking food. Staff very nice. Well done. This cafe would be in top three for cabinetfood selection Back again this morning, great cabinet and delighted to se the return of the lemon muffins. Fantastic warmed with butter. Coffee always good. Well done team, some other cafes could earn from your display.

Absolutely delightful cafe. The scones are monsters and utterly DELICIOUS. I will definitely be using this as my preferred eatery in Masterton.

Excellent selection and even more impressive service, they do a bottomless cup and its using good coffee not instant. I had a cinnamon date scone which was magnificent. 3 of us different choices and all very impressed. Great value great food and service.

They make the best coffees and always know when I'm coming, they get my X/Lg Double shot latte with coconut milk ready and it's so divine 🤩 Gorgeous food, friendly as staff 🙌🙌🤩

Been eating here since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Standards have always been high & never changed. I'd crawl over broken glass to eat one of those little savory pie things. If heaven made pies, that's what they'd taste like. Quality over quantity. Great Team who represents the business well. Thankyou Food for thought, still classy & putting other cafes to shame after all this time. 👍

Best "Old School Cafe" anywhere. Another '80s themed place but impeccably clean with just the most lovingly produced cabinet food. A cheese and onion sandwich that isn't full of mayonnaise! What a treat! Staff are friendly and when they get to know you, treat you like old friends.

Food for Thought is just the best. The owners are the role models of the staff, leading by example. I would never go anywhere else. There is very little staff turnover, which is great. When the cook brings out the breakfast, it is with the utmost care and courtesy. Everyone receives the same kind attention, the hospitality extends to everyone in the house. It is just whom they are, more than a matter of what they are trying to be, if that makes sense.

Great coffee, good old school - new school food. Superbly family friendly. Heaps of room for buggies and kids. Phil and Yvonne and crew go that extra mile to make you at home.

I got the most amazing spinach, feta, and pesto scroll from here, the staff were lovely and made it a wonderful visit. 10/10 place.

Very unpleasant would not go back again, i had ordered a bacon and egg bap toasted and it wasnt cooked right through my partner had ordered a sweet chilli bap toasted and her chicken was so tough and chewy it wasnt edible, you could tell it had been cooked before previously, pleasant staff but horrible food

Food For Thought is potentially the best Cafe in the Wairarapa-just sneaking ahead of Wild Oats of Carterton. The coffee is simply world class, strange for a town such as Masterton. Cooked breakfast and baked goods are of good quality-perfect for young families. The service for me is whats stands out from the crowd-Management is always present! The owners set high standards in all areas, constantly on the move surveying their Cafe as to retain high standards both in their staff and product. The staff are polite and very professional, always greeting you by name and making charming conversation. There coffee is always served quickly and if there is going to be a wee delay they let you know on purchase. As patrons go I am very hard to please and never once had any disappointing moments whilst enjoying my Daily Latte Bowl. The owners of this establishment could take Cafe Management Classes at as to educate others on how to run a professional Business.Don't ever change Team-I look forward to enjoying my usual cup of Joe next time I am back in country.

Excellent food, good selection, variety, and always fresh. Toilets are clean (that's got to reflect on their kitchen) and staff very good at what they do!
