From entrées to mains, we enjoyed every dish we ordered. Their sambal sauce was very tasty too, you could taste it was made by the restaurant not bought. Portion was very big and generous. Environment was clean and spacious. Service was attentive with some but there was one waiter who doesn’t seem to understand what we said.. (we tried English, Cantonese, Mandarin but he didn’t really respond)

Had lunch recently with some friends. A new restaurant, just opened not very long ago. The restaurant looked normal but spacious and pleasant. As for the food we enjoyed the taste. The service was friendly. Will definitely be back for other dishes. If you are keen on Malaysian food I recommend that you give this place a go. I am quite sure you will like it.

This was my first time going the same location after the change of the ownership. I had quite experiences in craving different types of Malaysian cuisine. This one is still very new so I would give them some time to try to collect feedback from customers then make some necessary adjustments. At this stage I would say it's Malaysian menu but the taste is not there yet. The same location used to be a very successful restaurant I believe the new owners must carry on the pressure. Hanging there.

Had the shredded chicken laksa (19.50) and beef rendang nasi lemak (21.50). Overall the flavour of both was good and portion was decent for the price (given increased costs post covid) but a quarter of an egg per bowl and a tiny teaspoon for sambal was unsatisfying. For those who cant handle spice, do not worry as the laksa was not noticeably spicy.

I must say Pudu now is my go-to Malaysian restaurant. Big portion, cheap price and very delicious food. This was the best curry chicken that I’ve ever had in any restaurant. The roti was so buttery and chewy! 10/10!

I have been here 3 times and have customized my menu based on my taste buds that day. Everytime I have been here they have done a splendid job and surpassed my expectations. It's a place one should visit and explore their taste buds and customer service is amazing, it's short staffed all over NZ so please have patience and enjoy the moment and the splendid food.

Pudu is quite a new restaurant. We stopped by for lunch to try it out. The menu is quite interesting with things I haven't seen in other places like silver needle noodles or a duck yee mee. We didn't get those so it will be something to come back to try. We grabbed a lobak and a chicken satay to start followed by the char kuey teow, BBQ pork and wonton kon loh mee, shredded chicken laksa and the beef rendang. I quite liked all of the dishes but what was an added plus was the sambal they had. It had a really prawny flavour but it wasn't very spicy. They also had other hot sauces available too. You could just grab all the sambal that you wanted. I did find the laksa and satay sauce to be on the sweeter side and it had really nice flavour, particularly the satay. I thought the kon loh mee was a bit wet and the flavours of the noodles were a bit different to what I'm used to. The rendang was also a bit drier than I expected. Regardless, the flavour of their dishes were quite tasty and would definitely be keen on trying the other dishes. Something to bear in mind is that they only do dessert for dinner so we were denied the deep fried ice cream at lunch.

we had a great night with my mates and those highly recommend Malaysian food. Even this restaurant located on very busy Dominion road, but finding an off street car park isn't an issue at all.

Good portions, affordable, tasty! Not much else you could ask for! I love Malaysian food so it was a treat to see Pudu open up on Dominion road. I ordered the beef Rendang and a noodle dish (forgot its name). Along with broccoli and chicken bites - although the sides weren’t that authentic, the mains were good (not as good as Bunga Raya however) their service was a little rocky but ill chalk that up to just opening and finding their feet. The way their menu is organised is a little unconventional but still readable - I will definitely be back to try more.
