Review No. 8 Restaurant & Bar - Mount Maunganui

Good location and plenty of space. I was quite hopeful about this place but a few things let us down. Menu wasn’t updated and the duck noodles which we wanted to try was no longer available. Normally, wait staff will tell this when they give the menu. Then we had 4 pieces of soft shell crab for $30 main, quite pricey for the serving. And only when we were about to pay, we were told there was a holiday surcharge. Not a big thing but I would have preferred to know in advance not when I’m about to pay. These are minor things that can be improved. Would still give them another next time.

Great selection of shared fusion plates and wines. Korean, Japanese, Indian, all fused together and it works so well! The Korean Chicken was our highlight! Only critique is that some of the other meats were lacking flavour. Very friendly service and affordable for the amount of food you get. We were especially impressed with how fast the food came (less than 10mins after ordering).

Had a relaxed afternoon here, tried three of the starters all were very yummy! Thinking of going back for dinner. Amazing setup, interior, & staff a real easy dining experience.

We came for dinner last night and received Absolutely amazing service as soon as we arrived up until leaving! The food was just beautiful and the cheesecake was exceptional! The cocktails the bartender made were also amazing! Would HIGHLY recommend! So far the best restaurant we’ve visited in the mount :)

We bump into this place, and it was not my choice but on the end I was delighted with the food and wine. Food was delicious and fresh, great service...Would come again and recommend.

I got to say I was thoroughly impressed at the whole experience at this restaurant. As soon as we arrived we were only reading the outside display menu and was greeted by a well mannered, properly presented gentleman who had welcoming and friendly charismatic with full knowledge of the menu. So just from the greeting it got my group and I in a relaxed joyful state. Once seated at friendly waitress with a smile came over promptly with menus and glasses or water for us. Whilst waiting for our meals which was only about a 15min wait. The same gentleman from the start came over offering us a free beer because he had to take a photo with it for marketing purposes - win/win. The meals themselves were something to highly appreciate. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to someone that doesn't think about all the flavours they are eating and just want the food to get from plate to stomach. the quantity of the dishes weren't large enough to fill a grown man but the quality in the food was so good that I ordered a second dish anyway. (they also say on their menu that they encourage more dishes than people for the sharing experience), Because I promise you that you want to try them all. Every dish was incredible!! I was also told that their menu is updated weekly creating great returning value to the place. Overall the customer service was close on outstanding and the food so memorable that I had to write my first ever. Brilliant

Had a wonderful evening out at No.8. The Asian fusion food was so interesting with the shared plates being a great idea for a couple. The service was excellent -thank you Jana, informative and prompt. We will definitely go back and try different dishes- so much to explore!!

Wow!!! We are so lucky to have a up market restaurant in down town mount. So proud to take my friends from out of town for lunch. Interior is amazing, food is amazing, cocktails are BEYOND amazing!! Definitely the best menu in town. . Also, the staff how to provided great service.

I had forgotten what good service until this restaurant. Wait staff so attentive and helpful. Food fantastic, every plate. Great wines, a little expensive but generous glasses.Great place to go.

This is just a quick note to say a huge thanks for another amazing night again on Saturday. We brought along our daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren which was a special experience for them, and a bit nerve wracking, but you made them so welcome. They were wowed with the food, as we knew they would, and wished they lived closer to be able to come again. So thank you everyone. To be able to take our family somewhere other than McDonald's and get treated as special guests and have wonderful food just made our night. We came here as a family group on a Sunday afternoon. The service and the food were fabulous. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and our server was very helpful. We will definitely return next time we are in the area

What a fantastic Dinner experience at No 8 All five of us had amazing food & wine. Brilliant staff! FAB loo's No loud music so you hear each other! Will definitely return!

Friends and I went there for lunch and it was great, but I'll be back to try their evening menu because the food was absolutely delicious. Have to mention the friendly, efficient staff, they were faultless throughout the service... and the coffee was so good I had two :)
