My wife and I had an unforgettable evening at Alpine Restaurant. The buffet dinner was a gastronomic delight, featuring an extensive array of dishes that catered to all tastes. The seafood spread, including prawns and clams, was a true standout. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional customer service we received throughout the evening. I suggest you come in early (between 5-5:30pm) to get the best seats with the best views. 6-7pm seems like the busiest time.
The food was excellent. Lots of fresh seafood (prawn, mussels, clams) delicious meat (beef, lamb), lots of mains, healthy veges, different types of salmon, salads, cheese and desserts to choose from. We were so impressed with the range and the quality, it’s definitely worth the money!

There are very limited option in Mr cook village so when we read the reviews here we weren’t expecting too much. We were pleasantly surprised the food was tasty and the views were outstanding ! The service was excellent. The price is definitely high but considering the location and limited options if you arrive hungry and make the most of their food selection I believe you get your moneys worth.

Consider worth as it is quite remote with decent amount of good foods to choose from.

Only had a Panhead here but she was cold and delicious, and drunk in front of a view so gorgeous it'll make your eyes water.
Lots of choice, friendly staff. Especially the meat + sauce & cauliflower gratin were delicious! And a lot of desserts to choose from. Add the stunning view of the mountain and you have a great venue.
Considering there are only few options to dine in this area, the dinner buffet was pretty good despite some negative reviews. I really liked the lamb and the scallops and the curry. It would be even better if the mussels were a bit larger and better flavored.

Great buffet. I don't know why there's so few reviews and why someone gave it one star. Maybe they just opened?
The buffet has a very large selection of meat, seafood, salads, veggies, carbs, desserts, cheeses, cold cuts, soup. No vegan protein though.

I booked an hour before I came but it seemed almost fully booked.
Food is average, not great, not terrible, it's just all quite bland. But what it lacks in flavour it makes up for somewhat in variety and quantity. Salmon is good, so is the soft serve
Went here twice during our stay at Mt. Cook. Buffet style. The food was good and there was quite some variety available. Since we were not guests of the hotel we had limited times we could reserve. We went at 8;30 but often by 9:15 they were already clearing out dishes which I think was a bit disappointing since I think it's technically open until 10:00 something.
