Easily one of the best Balkan meals we’ve ever eaten. The vegetarian mezze and cevapi were outstanding. Topped with friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended.

I was really impressed by these delicious dishes and the quality of the service. The owner and his family are tremendously kind. New menu and fresh perspective. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend! Good authentic food, nice interior. All dishes tasted good, generous portions and acceptable prices. Kids liked this place as well. My teenager enjoyed the fish burger, which looked impressive. And the little one amazed me by eating everything till the end, as he is a picky one and will not eat what he doesn't like. Both of them finished with an ice cream. (Just look at this beautiful presentation) I was lucky to find out about this place.💙🧿

Come HERE if you are sick of the same old low-effort Turkish places. These guys offer up incredible, authentic dishes and service with a smile. Apologies for the most un-aesthetic picture I could take but I couldn’t wait to dig in. I went the spicy cevapi (I’m told is pronounced che-vapi!) and dreamy creamy halloumi bites (highly recommended). They even obliged me with some extra chillies which left me sweating
yum all round!!!

The food was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals and the desserts were worth the calories. They are under staffed so service was a little slow but once we got our meals that was unimportant. Will definitely go back. It's very casual and relaxing.

Highly recommend! Guvech was awesome The lamb was so soft and tender and juicy, and the sauce was sooo great All in all, it's the best Turkish cuisine I ever had in Napier đŸ„°

Had a fantastic rice plate with mixed meat, salad and falafel, and a mixed meat and salad wrap for my Lady
outstanding! Great taste, awesome staff and a very clean and well presented sitting area. Thanks very much to the team this afternoon, what a great place to unwind after a long day.

Food is just delicious! Well deserved 5 stars and unquestionable one of the best Turkish restaurants in the country. Simple, yet amazing choice of small dishes to share including many vegetarian options. Vegan on request! Our absolute favourite is vegetarian mezzo platter with nice choice of everything to try, but falafel kebab wrap is a solid choice if you are really hungry. Place doesn’t serve alcohol which is actually a nice one , just only BYO with $5 corkage fee. Service is bit overwhelmed by the number of people and slow, they happened to forgot one of our orders, but still food compensated overall experience.

You can order your food at the counter, or take a seat and order online using table QR codes. Alcohol is served. The seating is comfortable for a short stay. There is outside seating. Staff are helpful and friendly. The meals were a good size, fresh and well presented. The pita bread was delicious.

We are regular customers at Kilim restaurant for many many years. Meat dishes or vegetarian meals are all flavoursome and tasty. My favourite is the vegetarian mezze platter. I can highly recommend this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!!!!!

Our first dining experience at Kilim was about 5 years ago on Christmas Day. It was excellent food and service and decided to return while we were visiting Napier on 31 Dec 2017. We did not book to be fair. We waited 30 minutes for a table to become free. We were seated outside. There were 5 adults. Once we got to our table, we waited another 30 minutes for the only waitress who could take our order to take our order. There were two other waitresses who were not allowed to take orders. Once our order was taken, we waited 25 minutes for the entree to arrive then another 30 min for the mains to arrive. All in all, it was a longer night than it should’ve been. Having said that, the food was excellent and we had a vegan in our group. I could not fault the food but the service was horrendous given it was New Years Eve and only one fully workable waitress was on and they were fully booked and as each table was finishing more people came into the cafe. Due, to this poor service only, I have given only 2 stars.

Kilim is amazing!! Everytime I come to Napier I try to dine in! I love the atmosphere, the staff are so lovely and accommodating with food allergies and the food, amazing!! So fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

We had the vegetarian meze. The food was awesome and the staff very friendly. We also liked the turkish decoration.

Great food, nice atmosphere.
It was great to have dinner in this restaurant. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He helps you select the right food on the menu.
Guvec is strongly recommended. Portions are pretty generous.

Tasty, authentic Turkish food coupled with friendly service.Just remember it's a cafe not a restaurant so the decor is probably not as nice as it could be, but we went there for the food and it was great!

I love Turkish food. Especially homemade falafel, hummus, Iskender Chicken and Lamb, tabbouleh and Turkish bread. Kilim is a family owned restaurant in Napier, and does Turkish food well - very authentic and tasty. And yes, their falafel comes highly recommend!

We dined here once (and also got takeaway on a separate occasion) and it was a lovely night. The staff were welcoming and friendly and our meals arrived promptly. They do BYO = double bonus, plus NO CORKAGE = triple bonus!!!

We loved their Iskender Meal with Chicken, which also comes with a generous amount of rice, hummus, beetroot dip, mixed salad, tabbouleh and Turkish bread, and also the Salad Bowl with Falafels with green salad leaves, hummus, beetroot dip, tabbouleh, sweet chilli and Turkish bread. Both meals were filling and delicious. Highly recommend Kilim!

We came to Kilim on new years day. Everything else was closed. Eventhough this wasn't our first choice, we really enjoyed our experience. The service was great. The man at the counter was friendly and patient as we enquired about the different items in the menu and ensured there were no allergens that may affect our kids. We had the mixed iskender, fried halloumi and eggplant tagine. The food was really tasty, and seemed healthy too.

Bitterly cold evening in Napier, needed some good warm food in a warm environment and we found it here.

Food was your typical Turkish selection with all of the favourites. We had a chicken salad and chicken shish both were great, perfect portion sizes, great flavour. Just a great plate of food.

My only "complaint" would be the young waitress who first helped us needs a lot more training in customer interaction. She seemed noticeably shy and a little uncertain. The other waitress was well experienced which was a saving.

Go give it a try you will love it.

What a shame, we love this place in the kapiti coast and really wanted to try a different kilim however extremely disappointed and will not return, food was cold and obviously old grey potato in my dish, atmosphere horrible. Felt extremely embarrassed bringing my family here. Waste of money. Hopefully one day with new management their could be some improvement.

This is one of the best places in Napier NZ to get a fresh Turkish Kebab at a reasonable price of only $11 (NZD) for a large.

The workers in this shop are always friendly and polite and make me want to go back every week â˜ș

This is a highly recommend place to go to đŸ‡čđŸ‡·

Went there for a quick bite on a cold evening and ended up ordering Vegetarian Iskender. The location is good, walk from marine parade, most motels and shopping area. Its large enough for a cafe and small for a restaurant but appropriately decorated per the cuisine. The staff is nice and helped with choosing as I was not sure. The food was tasty, the dips were nice too. I had planned for dessert but the quantity of Iskender was enough to make me full. Later ordered for the Apple tea, citrusy-sweet & hot, nice drink to sip after a meal on a cold evening. Overall its good. Can recommend for a quick turkish meal.

This place is delicious I always have the Adana and it never fails. I have also had the mixed platter, it was delicious, the service is fantastic and quick. There is BYO too which is great.

Last night of our holiday in Napier and we settled on Kilim Turkish Restaurant. It was recommended by a friend so it had to be good!!!! Anyhow, it was Saturday night so we called to make a reservation. No problem, table for two at 6.00pm. When we arrived there were only two other people in the place. Not a good sign we thought. When we arrived we were asked if we were intending to dine in or were we getting a takeaway. As I explained to the nice young lady (who seemed to have English as her second language) that as I had called to make a reservation I had a good intention to dine in their establishment that evening. Unfortunately I think my “wit” went over her head. Anyhow, we noticed a table for two in the corner with the “Reserve” sign on it. I suggested that maybe that was our table. The manager arrived. He said sorry that table if for one person (even though there were two places set out!!) Let logic not get in the way of some fine dining, so we settled on the table next to the reserved one that was also available. We were handed the A3 (or was it A4) laminated two sided menu to select our meals. I mistakenly asked for the wine list while we were deciding on what to have. I was told they don’t sell any alcohol, but there is no corkage if I had brought my own bottle. Unfortunately disappearing into unknown territories of Napier seeking a bottle of wine was not really an option. Instead we settled on the free glass of water on offer. Feeling grumpy, meals were ordered and I went for the mixed grill. The other half went for the chicken, salad and chips. What a surprise. The meal was stunningly tasty. Meats were cooked to perfection and combined with the salads, bread and sauces made for a great meal. So, what to make of Kilim. Simple, when making a booking they should say we don’t serve alcohol but brining your own is free! Hey, there were lots of tourists off a cruise ship who turned up after we sat down and the place started to fill up. They were as surprised as us. Overall experience was of really nice food but a Micky Mouse operation. The food alone though will entice us to go back again.

Looking for a quick and cheap dinner option, we found a familiar name in Kilim. The restaurant is more spacious than its Petone namesake and the big front windows were open to let in the welcome breeze on a warm night. There is a great range of staples on the menu: doners, kebabs, iskender meals and modern slants on Turkish food like deconstructed burgers. The adana kebab is as you'd expect; spicy meat and filling. The lamb iskender meal is substantial and delicious served with rice, pide, hummus and salad. Our service was reasonably quick. BYO with no corkage is a bonus.

Type: Lunch / casual dinner
Meals: very good
Price: good but drinks usual higher end price (2015)
Venue: Good, well decorated and clean, interior space is small but works. Outside seating is also available.
Location: Roadside parking expect 50~100m walk (near main shopping district)

This place is good eating, 2015 prices are well set for a take away lunch or a eat in meal.
The food delicious and portion sizes are generous.
Have recommended to friends and family who have also enjoyed this awesome place to dine.

I love this place!!

I went to have an authentic Turkish dish and I had exactly what I expected :)

I ordered chicken with tomato and chili sauce and my partner had a mixed platter. The food came in no time and they were MASSIVE! the plate came with meat, rice, salad, Turkish bread, yogurt and some hummus. The whole plate was delicious and very fulfilling.. The quality really worth the price.
We had baklava for share too and it was crunchy on the outside and moist very nutty inside, perfection.

The staff were very friendly and the place was decorated with unique Turkish fabrics that made the whole dining place authentic.

There is no miss about this place, I will definitely come back and recommend it to other people :) top notch!

Had Lamb Iskender for lunch today. Ate in, service was rushed and no smiles :( Was a little disappointed as it was no where near as nice as the last time i was there (this was some time ago however). Very Average plate of food for $14.50 unfortunately.

Went here last night after walking past early around 6pm scouting out somewhere for dinner. Noted that they were BYO only, so after a drink at a local pub, we went the supermarket and wandered back around 7.30... And it was packed! Grabbed the last table which we figured was a good sign. Ordered a walnut dip, lamb Iskender and a lamb Gurvec. Service was excellent and the food was tasty, good size portions and came away satisfied. Would recommend for a casual meal.

Love this place. Never had a bad meal here. Iskender is awesome.

Went here on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good range of options on the menu and the portions were generous. We found the serving staff to be very friendly and helpful. The service was very quick! The five us tried a range of dishes and everyone was pleased with their meals. Although we did not need it we tried the desserts and found them to be very good also. The flour-less chocolate cake was good but would have been improved with a little cream or yogurt on the side but we did not ask for any. A great evening and delicious food Thanks!

Service terrible. Man unfriendly and unhelpful. Few options. Could easily have upsold me or sold me drinks, Or a dessert but no one tried. Food is okay, not bad and good value. Just not sure okay is good enough these days.

A busy night but very good service. Huge and very tasty portions. Tried the mixed and lamb iskenders and the yummy grilled haloumi and chicken on flatbread.
Peter
I love the iskender...yum

Service was terrible. The man working the counter on Monday evening was unfriendly and not at all helpful. They had no vegetarian option for the iskenders, gave us no choice in sauces, and the food was bland.
Cafe Anatolia just around the corner from Kilim is friendlier, and the menu is far superior. Give Kilim a miss and try Anatolia.

Yummy food, fast service and very friendly. Great pricing too. Group of 10 of us and everyone's meals were hot and all delivered together and yummy!! thanks so much for a fun night. We really enjoyed ourselves. :)

I love this place so much I signed uphere to write a quick review. They are the friendliest, most helpful people (unlike the other turkish restaurant in town who cannot even seem to give you a smile whilst taking your money) Their kebabs are really fresh, absolutely delicious, and value for money. You can sit in the lovely sunny courtyard, and not have to sit in the street to eat your lunch! and it's a great area for kids. I never waste my money anywhere else when I get a perfect, delicious meal here everytime :) Keep up the good work guys :)

My partner and I had arrived in Napier on a Friday evening just before 5pm.
Strangely we could not find one restaurant that was open at that hour. Then we found Kilim Cafe.

Kilim had a really nice Middle Eastern theme going all around the interior. It felt very open. And even with all their authentic products displayed on the side of the cafe, it didn't feel cluttered.
There were standard tables, and there was also a platform with short legged tables where the customers would sit on the platform.

The menu was simple and impressive. The ordering worked like a cafe. It was hassle-free and casual.
The food was amazing. It looked like a platter of a bit of everything they had. We wiped the plate off clean, and left feeling very satisfied.
The staff are friendly, but you don't get to interact with them very much as it is all self-service.

Wow these guys have got it. Authentic cuisine, great service and lovely food. There was a group of 14 and we sat on the floor with the little table and cushions and it was a great night. We liked it that much we are taking our staff there for dinner.Well done guys you rock and the best thing is bring your own and no cork age, fabulous. Catering for 14 people wasn't a problem for them, service was efficient and friendly.Keep up the good work, we wish you well.

This Turkish restaurant has become a regular. Their kebabs are generously sized, which is great for big eaters, and there are a variety of fillings to choose from including mixed grill and falafels for vegetarians. Prices are reasonable for the quality and size, and I've enjoyed my meals all but once when my chicken was slightly overcooked. However, I felt that this transgression could be overlooked considering their overall efforts to date.

We have switched from grabbing a quick take-away to eating in as the interior deceptively houses a surprisingly roomy dining area, with rustic wooden tables and scatter cushions. Combined with fast and friendly service, and Arabic music playing in the background it makes for a relaxing & enjoyable experience.
