Lunch here today. My partner had Warm halloumi salad and I had sticky pork belly salad. Very tasty. Also a wine and ginger beer for $55. Staff very friendly and helpful. Road outside has been blocked off so plenty of outdoor seating. Will be back.

May have been the best meal so far in NZ. A beautiful filet of fish (very generous helping) over roasted vegetables and a sweat potato sauce with pesto. $25 NZD. Also Earl grey tea in a loose leaf tea pot, not a tea bag. Coming back.

Visited Ford with friends. Food was amazing, mushroom chips with blue cheese sauce were an amazing new experience. Mussels and squid were delicious and the lamb was cooked to perfection. Sticky date pudding with extra toffee sauce was to die for and the beautiful young lady that served us was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Great value for money overall experience was comfortable and inviting.

Had breakfast here and although it was a little pricey the eggs benedict was amazing and the service was quick and friendly.

We had a lovely meal here and were attended to by very friendly and helpful staff. Sitting outside and people watching in Nelson’s busier area was great.
The steak with prawns is excellent as are the generous servings of tea for after dinner. A well priced option!

We dine here 3 or 4 times a year and have never been disappointed. We dined there tonight on the occasion of our Silver Wedding Anniversary and we were made so welcome and felt so special. As always, the food was superb and the service beyond expectation, definitely our favourite place to eat in Nelson. Keep up the good work team Ford's.

Nice eggs Florentine! Always good to get house made Hollandaise. Great spot for a morning drink in the sun. The staff are friendly too. Decent prices. Coffee wasn't as yummy as I hoped though.

When a dinner table plunges in to silence as the main dishes have been placed , you know the chef has done something right! We were lucky enough to stumble upon this restaurant last night and have returned tonight! The service exceptionally friendly and efficient, the ambience warm and music lovely- quiet- we can talk easily, the food mesmerisingly superb .. thank you to Fords. We wish we were locals and could keep coming back-

We originally stopped at Ford’s just to have coffee in the beautiful patio in the plaza but after seeing everybody else’s food decided to have dinner inside. We can’t say enough good things about this place. Both the food and the service were amazing. We got two orders of mushroom fries and loved them so much we ordered a third. We also tried the Lamb Entree, Fish of the Day (John Dory), Vegan Curry, and Lamb Belly Croquettes and every single dish was fantastic. Our waitress Nicole was soooo so nice and friendly and the manager Tommy is one of the warmest and most welcoming people we’ve met on our trip. We’ll have to come back to New Zealand just to visit Ford’s. A must when visiting Nelson. Highly recommended.

Great food, even better service. The duty manager here is smart and knows how to run her bar and dining room. We walked in early one evening without a reservation. When told a table wasn't available, we opted for the bar. The DM recognized we would be good customers and gone before the evening rush, she moved us to a table. We had delicious salmon with green salads, outstanding NZ pinot noir, and were gone before the reservation showed up. Everyone won.

The food is consistently of a very high standard and perhaps the best restaurant in terms of value for money.
If you are a meat eater, you mustn't go past their signature Angus steak dish.
Kerry and Gary are a great combination and they have a great team supporting them.
Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. A coffee and cake or just a glass of local wine with tapas, this place offers it all.
Keep doing what you're doing because it's grand!

I had the Angus fillet steak it was absolutely delish my husband had the snapper and said it also was delish. This restaurant is our favourite and diffinately recommend to others. You will not be disappointed in the staff, atmosphere and most of all the food. #thankyoufordsresturantandbar

Away on holiday with my partner and read the reviews for ford’s and thought we would give it a go... we went there for breakfast and I ordered the breakfast stack.. when I received the meal it included 1 small hash brown, 1 slice of fresh tomato, 1 piece of bacon, 2 slices of halloumi a very under cooked poached egg and a dash of salsa verde.. with the price tag of $21.00 I’m sorry but that I’m my eyes is disgusting. Thank you to the wait staff who were lovely and when I raised my concern took off my coffee and juice off the bill but I left still hungry and very unsatisfied with my visit to fords.

First day of the year the service wasn’t a good at all, when we finished our food the guy brought our drink, took around 40 minutes to arrive, and was only one cup, I told him that I already finished my food so I was leaving the place, doesn’t make sense take the coffee after the breakfast has finished, we went to pay and the guy wants to charge us for the coffee, we spent time arguing with each other, in the end he decided to take it out from our bill!
Hopefully next year we can have a better service :(

Excellent range of exquisite food, cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner. Our table pf 4 enjoyed 3 courses, all had a different option and all thought the quality very high. Would highly recommend and return.

We had an overnight getaway in Nelson and happened along Fords. Wow! Just wow! The food was so good. Both my husband and I loved what we ordered (I had lamb, he had steak). It was perfectly cooked and looked great in the plate as well. The real winner here though is, not only are their mains amazing and interesting, the dessert selection is as well. Let me tell you, there was not a lot of dinner conversation going on. We were too wrap up in the incredible food we were eating!

OMG What an amazing dinner. The venue is lovely and the staff were fantastic. From the pork belly entree to the lamb duo for main completed by the chocolate cheesecake for dessert there was nothing to fault, flavour and presentation were on par. Definitely will be back to sample some other menu items.

Ordered the fish of the day Snapper! Sadly the fish was dry and the vegetables were tasteless. Dissatisfied doesn’t really explain my feeling, for a $38 main, that really a Macdonald’s fillet of fish would be an improvement!
Interesting it seems negative feedback gets you blocked! Just shows that the management don’t like the truth!
Well i will certainly forward to all that dine in Nelson about my experience at this location.
