This is truly an iconic Nelson eatery that keeps us coming back time and time again. The food is consistently of a very high standard and perhaps the best restaurant in terms of value for money. If you are a meat eater, you mustn't go past their signature Angus steak dish. Kerry and Gary are a great combination and they have a great team supporting them. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. A coffee and cake or just a glass of local wine with tapas, this place offers it all. Keep doing what you're doing because it's grand!

I had the Angus fillet steak it was absolutely delish my husband had the snapper and said it also was delish. This restaurant is our favourite and diffinately recommend to others. You will not be disappointed in the staff, atmosphere and most of all the food. #thankyoufordsresturantandbar

Lunch here today. My partner had Warm halloumi salad and I had sticky pork belly salad. Very tasty. Also a wine and ginger beer for $55. Staff very friendly and helpful. Road outside has been blocked off so plenty of outdoor seating. Will be back.

May have been the best meal so far in NZ. A beautiful filet of fish (very generous helping) over roasted vegetables and a sweat potato sauce with pesto. $25 NZD. Also Earl grey tea in a loose leaf tea pot, not a tea bag. Coming back.

I got a coffee from Ford’s. it’s really good as been recommended to me. Astonishing amazing atmosphere when you have your coffee outside. Friendly staff and lovely place.

Excellent brunch I had French toast with orange maple syrup and bacon. It was delicious and beautifully presented.

Visited Ford with friends. Food was amazing, mushroom chips with blue cheese sauce were an amazing new experience. Mussels and squid were delicious and the lamb was cooked to perfection. Sticky date pudding with extra toffee sauce was to die for and the beautiful young lady that served us was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Great value for money overall experience was comfortable and inviting.

Outstanding meal. The lamb blackstrap and it was amazing. My brother had the fish of the day on the risotto and will not stop talking about it.

We ordered the sticky date pudding and the panna cotta desserts. Best desserts ever as well as great customer service. Would highly recommend.

Had breakfast here and although it was a little pricey the eggs benedict was amazing and the service was quick and friendly.

A No Grainer

We had a lovely meal here and were attended to by very friendly and helpful staff. Sitting outside and people watching in Nelson’s busier area was great. The steak with prawns is excellent as are the generous servings of tea for after dinner. A well priced option!
