They pack some great fashion chain shops into this outdoor mall area. A great selection of Sushi can be found here too.

Had a yummy lunch at Morrisons Cafe. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long for it. Not good parking though so best to park in Buxton carpark. The tables are close together so it would be very hard if someone had a pram or a wheelchair to move about. Our waitress was very friendly.,

Such a cool area of shops and cafes. Portmans, just jeans, jjays, Amazon, the rock box, flo and Frankie...more that I'm forgetting. Easy to park nearby and walk to the square.

Good little place to visit when walking through Nelson. Loaded with history and beautiful gardens, very pretty and interesting.

Quite and charming square to visit Mariposa is a must visit.

Love the shops there. All are different. Great to clothes shop. Then a cup of coffee.

Very nice and tidy area, it's not big but u can enjoy shopping in different stores all are good brands and have one thing is that the cafe is in center of the square 😜🍔🥬😋

Went to Smiggle looking for things for the grandkids. The young woman who served us was pleasant and very helpful. We wanted only small purchases, but she treated us as if we were buying the crown jewels..a real asset to the business. I would happily go back again. Well done her!

An unexpected and unique small shopping complex in the heart of Nelson. Coffee, food, clothing stores. All nicely presented & parking available

Oh dear, what has happened....used to be soo good.  Sure the atmosphere is great the staff were lovely but the food, very disappointing.  Ordered bacon and black sausage, the dish was so small they tried to disguise it by placing 2 large iceberg lettuce leaves on the plate that took up most of the room.  And no they were not fresh they were slightly brown and limp which made it worse.  The black pudding was the size of my thumb and the bacon was thin and burnt to a crisp.  My granddaughter ordered the kids pancakes.  They were ok but lacked flair, 2 pancakes with blueberries and maple (no cream, ice cream or yoghurt) which most kids love and if your vegan then there is coconut or soy yoghurt.  I tried to tell the counter staff when I went to pay.  They told me to fill in a comment card.  I did but it was just put in a jar on the counter for all to see, wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't even handed to the owner.  How would anyone know if the staff didn't like what they read they could simply remove it.  I won't be rushing back too many good cafes in Nelson to chose from why would you go where the food is expensive, the portions are small and things sound better than they actually are...  If these dishes were on display in a counter and you could see them before you bought them I doubt you would sell any.

I quite liked this place. I like the vide that’s created here by both the lovely staff and the aesthetic of the place. <br/>I just don’t like the fact that some of the staff looked scared to come and talk to me when they needed me to move, it’s not a nice feeling. <br/><br/>But the eggs Benedict was good and I’ve also heard that their Mediterranean eggs are good so I will be trying that next

Even before i landed in Nelson, i had made my mind that i 'need' to eat at Morrison cafe. So here we go for a breakfast, with excitement in my mind upon reading all the reviews and looking at the tempting pics. The server was so great and asked if we would want the coffee to begin with. We ordered the coffees, which we got in 7 minutes. All warm and fuzzy. Just after the coffee we placed the breakfast order. And the wait began. To bring things into perspective, we ordered the Morris breakfast and wholewheat pancakes. We were sitting in the outdoor seating area. And we knew a nominal wait of 15 minutes shouldn't be a bother.<br/>So we waited.<br/>After 25 minutes i started feeling cold because of the hunger and decided that we need to sit indoors. Upon changing our seating area we informed a staff that we were now sitting inside waiting for our order. <br/>Waited another 15 minutes, the staff all passing by and not even looking at us. Went to the counter and asked the reason for delay. And guess what, they asked what our order was and told it would be there in 5 minutes.<br/>And we waited again.<br/>After 10 minutes a staff member came and gave us 2 free coffee cards to compensate. Mind you the coffee cards can be used only on another visit not the current one. As for the food, it came a further 8 minutes after the coffee cards.<br/>By this time, we were so hungry that we were sure we would love the food. <br/>Pancakes, way too sweet<br/>Sausages, have had better in farmers market the prev day. Andd the Morris breakfast was cold.<br/><br/>In all, heartbroken after such high expectations.<br/>Price Wise: based on experience, too high.<br/>Would i go back: dont think so

Headed to Morri St for lunch on arrival in Nelson and it did not disappoint- I had the market seafood and it was really yummy, boyfriend had the chicken which he reported was great. Went back for brunch on a public holiday and it was absolutely packed so chose to have a coffee and sweet treat instead. Coffee was great and my ginger gem was delicious.

Yay! Love all the tasty gluten free/wheat free options here! Service was fast, and the cafe had a great ambiance. My buckwheat crepe with fruit salad was good, but the crepe was cold (which makes sense in retrospect, but I prefer warm crepes). Fruit salad was sans-unnecessary melon: winner! Great salmon on the eggs benedict, and try the afghan biscuits if you have a chance. You won't go wrong. Definitely coming back.

There was a whole lot of promise in the lambs fry, all sauced-up with bacon, silver beet and onion. Gorgeous flavours in the sauce, but it was totally let down by being overcooked.

On our drive back to Christchurch we stopped here after many recommendations from travel books. Morrison Street Cafe is a low-key, simply decorated cafe that caters more to the stomach than the eyes. Touted as more of a locals spot, there is a community board on the wall and the artwork on the wall is often for sale. The space can get particularly loud during the morning brunch rush, but the service is still pretty efficient. <br/><br/>We had a trim flat white, an Americano, the eggs Benedict with local bacon and the salted caramel & strawberry pancakes. The eggs benedict was spot on perfection with an incredible light but well-prepared hollandaise to top. The eggs were cooked just right and the bacon had a slight crisp to the edges. The eggs Benedict came heaped with spinach and chives which added a great flavor and added touch of healthiness on top of the soft bagel the Benedict was served on. Needless to say, the plate was licked clean. The pancakes were made with a wholemeal batter and were extremely fluffy. The pancakes were topped with fresh strawberries and a rhubarb compote that was bright, tart and totally complemented the salted caramel sauce that was served in lieu of syrup. If you've never had pancakes with caramel sauce, you must try it here. I had my dish served with yoghurt but cream is also an option. <br/><br/>The prices are reasonable and the service is quick and friendly. If you're stopping in Nelson, you absolutely must find your way over to Morrison Street Cafe.

Wow, this place was heaving on Sunday!  Grabbed a table and perused the menu.  Lots on offer, but we chose the Nasi Goreng with chicken and Chick Pea cakes for me.... the Nasi Goreng was good, the chick pea cakes were a bit hard but tasty enough.  When we asked the waitress what some of the unusual coffees were she couldn't tell us and told us she was "just new" - but made no attempt to go and find out.... I ordered a cupcake but when it came it taste like yesterday's, very dry and I left most of it.  The Masala tea was good though.  The score reflects the fact that the waitress was clearly not up to speed nor had gumption enough to go and find out for us.

Pros: baked goods on display were popular in reviews and on tables. <br/><br/>Good GF bread and catering to allergies/sensitivities. <br/><br/>Friendly service. <br/><br/>Cons: slow service. Noisy environment. Slow to clear tables yet they tell people to find a seat they're "comfortable" at and they'll take your order. We weren't the only ones to have to clear our own table. <br/><br/>My Morrison St Eggs were so salty between the bacon and hollandaise sauce that I could NOT eat it. I like salt. The chef had to have not tasted it at all- it's been a LONG time since I've had a meal I could not even eat. <br/><br/>When we told the staff upon paying, they didn't even offer an apology but alone any sort of remedy. I was shocked. <br/><br/>Bad experience all around which was disappointing given the other reviews. $54 wasted for brekky and coffees for 2 people.

First day in Nelson, we asked our hostess for a good place to get lunch. She recommended Morrison Street Cafe.<br/><br/>It was full when we arrived but managed to get a table within five minutes. The waiters and kitchen staff are busy, giving the place a buzzy ambience.<br/><br/>We ordered light bites: Traditional bruschetta and venison gyozas. We also ordered the mango, raspberry & coconut slice. Drinks: Flat white and a green tea.<br/><br/>Even though they were busy we were seen to promptly and our meal came out quickly.<br/><br/>When ordering my coffee, I was offered a double shot and for it to be made with fresh whole milk delivered daily by a local farmer. I chose to try this. I cannot say I noticed a massive different from 'normal' milk, but the coffee was smooth and strong and I enjoyed it.<br/><br/>The bruschetta was clean and fresh. The gyozas were loaded with flavour. The combination of the venison dumpling, the sharp citrus and ginger soya sauce, the crisp shallots and spring onions was stunning.<br/><br/>The mango, raspberry and coconut slice was moreish. Just looking at it we knew it would be good. Lovely flavours, light and not overly sweet. Delicious.<br/><br/>Venison Gyozas: $14.00<br/>Traditional Bruschetta: $13.50<br/>Mango, Raspberry & Coconut Slice: $4.90<br/>Flat white: $4.50<br/>Green Tea: $3.80<br/><br/>All up it cost: $40.70. <br/><br/>It was a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Each dish was of a high quality. A visit is recommended if you're in Nelson.

Hadn't been here for a while and went for brunch after a big night out ... awesome!<br/><br/>Exceptional, attentive, polite, professional service from the moment we walked in the door and consistently maintained throughout the several hours we were there.<br/><br/>One of the best eggs bene I've had and all the other meals looked amazing as well. Definitely going back again soon to try some of the other items.

Nelson is really blessed with some outstanding eateries, and this certainly one of them. It's always busy, but seems to run like a well-oiled machine, and the food is excellent: the Baghdad eggs on flatbread are a fantastic, healthy brunch alternative, and the pancakes are amazing also.<br/><br/>Special mention should be made of the coffee here - I tend to think cafe's in Nelson let themselves down with their coffee, but Morrison Street Cafe are always on the money; great extraction/crema, and really well-made flat whites.<br/><br/>Simply fantastic.

Friendly service, absolutely delicious hot drinks and a totally amazing atmosphere. When you visit Nelson you've got to go to this cafe. You can choose from a wide variety of breakfasts, brunches, lunches and desserts. They serve meals quickly, and the food is yummy. The background music is completely brilliant and the atmosphere is very inviting. However the birds outside are noisy and annoying, but this is the worst thing about the cafe. Overall it's a great cafe we give 4 stars.

Delicious, creative and good value. Morrison Street Cafe is a great place for brunch.<br/>We visited it on Thursday 26.August. <br/>The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was lively. <br/>The location is in the center of town, so it's easy to find. <br/>The prices are $10 to $20 for a meal witch is reasonable. <br/>There is a wide menu so you can choose from a good variety of dishes.<br/>We tried "the Winter Energy Salad" which had a special taste, but it was a good combination.<br/>"The White Fish and Mussel Chowder" was a little salty but it was really delicious. <br/>All in all we enjoyed the dishes.<br/>We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. We give it 4 stars.

Vivacious, attentive to our needs and cheerful, the staff were brilliant. We were served very fast and the food was absolutely delicious even though most of the food was a little bit expensive.<br/><br/>It's a great idea to combine a gallery with a cafe, so you can enjoy arts from New Zealand while you have your meal. Unfortunately, the seats weren't very comfortable. <br/><br/>Overall, you won't regret going there.

Def my local coffee stop!<br/>always awesome art on the walls and yummy food!<br/>They change some dishes on the menu for Summer and Winter and there is always something you will get addicted to! The Warm Chicken Salad in Winter is to die for and the Breakfasts are delish!!<br/>I recommend a BLAT!!!<br/>With different areas for a private catch up, a meal, or business meeting, there is something for all!!<br/>Well done Morry Street!!
